Today I teach you how to apply a basic performance makeup look, specifically for ballet dancers or stage performers. The eye colors are all neutral browns and blacks with a classic red lip. This look could be worn for any stage role. All of the products I used are listed below.

Thank you so much for doing all of the stage makeup videos! I have a performance coming up tomorrow and I really needed some advice. My ballet teacher pointed out that what I was wearing for the previous concert was too pale for stage. Even though in daylight it seemed like a lot!

Awww thank you. Yes I didn't smile! Haha. Foundation is tricky. Try some on your jaw line when you are in the store to find the right color for you. I hope this helped you though!

I tried this but slightly toned down (I'm a bit younger) for my recital and it was really lovely
I just removed the brown eyeliner from the crease but kept the shadow there which I found really worked
This seems so easy how you explained it thank you.... but knowing I will find a way to mess it up XD

Unfortunately, hooded eyes are unable to accomadate any sort of wing, which as someone with the most frustrating of hooded lids, makes me very sad. Still a beautiful look! I will have to take out the winged liner, but I'm still looking forward to attempting such a gorgeous makeup design. You're a very talented young lady ❤

U can put white or beige eyeliner in the waterline so your will be looking wide open and big and also conceal if you are tired

I have six shows of The Nutcracker this weekend, excited to be Clara just hoping I don't dislocate my knee on stage like I did in rehearsal.
I am going to be Bye Bye Birdie and need a 50's look. Any suggestions?
One tip I have picked up from listening to my ballet teachers (they are all ex-principal dancers) is once you have put the fake lashes on, use the curler and that way the fake and natural lashes blend together. One of my teachers said that she then used to put a little more mascara on.

Please do more videos on makeup for rehearsal/practice/social dancing (eg tango, salsa) - I find it hard to get it right: I sweat, it has to be re-applied, then I get panda eyes...I can't be checking my face every 30 mins! Tips for the makeup itself and the follow-up would be greatly appreciated x
I find using a primer and a setting spray helps keep my make up in place when I sweat :)
What products can you recommend for someone with acne prone skin?
Oh, and when you are doing your makeup, do you pick a lighter or darker foundation for the stage?
My eyes are really small.. So my eyelid is very small and the space between eyelid and eyebrow is not big at all. Will this still look good? I'm gonna try it out soon and please tell me if you have any advice that could work for my tiny eyes ;)

Ben Nye is definitely awesome. Most makeup bothers me fairly quickly as I have extremely sensitive skin, but I can wear it for about a day.
