    I'm 61 and began eating Carnivore 07/2023 - now 04/24 I have lost 153 lbs. Off ALL meds, reversed Type 2 Dibetes and Sleep Appnea, I can breath again, Arthritis is 90% gone. I sleep through the night again. I was unable to stand or walk for more than 7-8 minutes. I walk up to 90 minutes now... first time in 13 years... YES, I had all of the above for many years I felt so hopeless and had given up any hope of being healthy again. I was on a downward spiral that had no end in sight except DEATH. CARNIVORE LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE. I am becomming happy again for the first time in 13 years. I still have 60 lbs to go... I have no doubt I will knock this out in a few months. PEACE BE TO ALL.

    I'm in my 4th month of my carnivore journey. Here's a few tips: 1) Forgive yourself for mistakes and missteps... and then keep going; 2) Skip the chicken... it isn't as filling or nutritious as red meat; 3) Eggs are key... eat at least three a day; 4) With respect to tight budgets, hamburger is your best friend... embrace it; 5) If you drink coffee, use butter instead of creamer - you will eventually develop lactose intolerance, so get ready to face it; 6) Ignore your critics... there will be many!

    Just over one year since I started my journey into good health. I spent all of March and the beginning of April 2023 doing my due diligence, reading people’s stories and watching UA-cam videos like crazy.
    April 10 2023 was the day I started on full carnivore.
    I was 246lbs, wearing size 40 jeans, suffered from IBS since 2013 and could hardly get off the couch. And I never would’ve willfully posted a picture of myself without a shirt 😂
    After the third week my IBS went away. About a month in I started to go for long walks when I got the extra energy, then about three months in I started biking too. I kept this up until fall when it got cold, at which time I started going to the gym. I’ve been in the gym 2-3 times a week since October and am down 60lbs and I now wear a size 32 jeans. And at some point, not sure when, my allergies disappeared.
    I only meant to try this “diet” for 45 days to see how it goes 😂 I never thought it would be a whole change of lifestyle, and now I’ll probably never look back. Since I started getting results, my brother curbed his type 2 diabetes with this WOE, my mother has since gone carnivore, some other family members, and now my daughter. This is the way.

Gained 10lbs, and I wasn't even eating junk processed foods. After 1 week, I was like "okay nop enough of this experiment" back on carnivore for 4 days now, acne is still rampant, takes a while to heal. Goodness gracious.

I think a lot of folks would benefit from a book with all your info in one place, where it's easy to access. I have flirted with carnivore since 2020, but with so much conflicting info on how to, I acquired a pretty severe case of analysis paralysis. Your Steak and Butter Gang, with all the wonderful coaches, and videos like this one, have helped me focus on what's important, and helped me truly adapt to the carnivore way of life. I actually started my carnivore journey last night. I stopped at the grocery store and picked up some ground beef, bacon, eggs and grass fed butter. I made burger patties in the air fryer with scrambled eggs too with a little cheese. I ate 3 eggs and two decent sized burger patties and was stuffed. Of course, I forgot to bring my lunch to work but I wasn’t even hungry anyways. I slept well, didn’t wake up bloated or fatigued and still feel great. I’m going to try to transition slowly, trying to cut sugar out first (that’s my biggest temptation).

    I’m so glad to hear you admit that this diet is not as easy as what many Carnivore gurus make it out to be! They usually mention oxalates in passing, but don’t stress how much of a problem it could be. I wasn’t aware that I could have this problem 3 months ago when I dove into this diet head first. I had listened to dozens of videos before doing so, but I missed anyone really stressing oxalates. I have had one hell of a time! Constant gut issues, including diarrhea and nausea, and increased pain. I have SIBO, so probably leaky gut, too, and several autoimmune diseases. I have chronic pain and now I have worse chronic pain from this diet. I’m at a loss as to what to do. I have listened to Sally Norton’s videos now, but she spreads her information out in little chunks, so it makes it hard to grasp it all. Now, listening to your video, I probably have histamine intolerance, too. So, now I have to get my meat from some high priced online store? We’re retired and I doubt I can afford it. Eggs have been one of my staples, too. I eat them as my first meal every day, along with ground beef and tri-tip. Anymore suggestions?🤷🏻‍♀️
    I must say, I don’t like what that Dr. ifland said. It’s completely selfish! How can a person be a good friend to anyone if you just dump them when they aren’t well, or they’re depressed? That’s awful. When we are unwell that’s when we need our friends and family more than ever! I have lost many friends being ill and unable to do what they could, over 20+ years of autoimmune illness. Believe me, it makes you worse, not better. Be Christ-like, love those even more that are unwell, whether physically or mentally. This is what Christ calls us to, not desertion, or avoidance. Be their light when their’s has gone out. We will all be sick and die at some point, be to others what you would want them to be to you. The mercy you give will be the mercy you receive.🙏🏻

      I'm not sure God wants his people to get all evangelical about food...and I think I might if this works for me! So maybe he's keeping me from that mistake.I too have painful autoimmune issues. I'm hoping this diet will help... But maybe his strength is sufficient. I too am having eggs as a staple and aged meat,as that's all there is in the shop and I also can't afford to order special stuff ...mmm just going with it while it's feeling right, and hoping it will help. I want to do low carbl for life as I'm 50 and don't want to be fat. If I feel very well I'll continue. Im still having raging hot flushes, not sleeping well, very inflamed knee..... getting worse, but this diet keeps being the answer to prayer, first I came across the info, then I was given the strength to stick to it. The whole oxalate thing really put me off too. My consultant wants to remove the fluid from my knee and get it sent to a lab to check it for oxalates. She says there is a certain kind of arthritis that is caused by oxalates and I don't have it.
      Not sure if people can go too far with this, especially when it has become their income stream?
      And yes! The Dr, selfish... but that's the new age for you -idolatry of self. If you don't serve my highest good- off with you! I'll pray for you to get well. Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
      and do not lean on your own understanding.
      In all your ways acknowledge him,
      and he will make straight your paths.
      Be not wise in your own eyes;
      fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
      It will be healing to your flesh
      and refreshment to your bones

    An air fryer is a godsend for the efficient carnivore. Perfect wings, chuck roasts and rib-eyes every single time. Just fill half way with water and drop a dishwasher pod in. Leave overnight and everything slides off when you hand wash or throw in the dishwasher.

    I started the carnivore diet a few weeks ago. Thankfully there are people like you Bella, that we can learn and listening to. I just turned 50 and started this to try and get control of my hormones and the inflammation that I've been experiencing for yrs. My body is not so inflamed but the hot flashes or meat sweats have not been pleasant. The oxalate dumping through my urine has also not been pleasant. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes over the next few months. I know I just have to get through the transition stage. Thanks for your channel. When I have cravings I come on here to get motivation, it really helps. 😊

    Have dabbled in Carnivor since 1999, learning from LowCarb Forum(Atkins followers). Forced myself to think of "My WHY" 3/14/24. Since then, I've been "clean" Carnivory. Haven't been to a doc, because I haven't had any complaints of any medical severity. As of today, I've not veered from this round of this way of fueling; taking pics, measurements and trying on clothes that didn't fit a month ago, as well as lifting weights, gentle walks(or marching beside my comfy chair). Still discovering what my body needs to adjust for optimal physical & mental healthy joy. Love how involved you are in the maintained healing & health of the world, Miss Bella. God bless us all as we continue to walk this AMAZING journey of a Proper Human Diet!

    I would add to cook as much as you can outdoors (grill, outdoor flat top griddle etc) to minimize the the greasy spoon smell in the house. Roasts that might get a little boring directly out of the Instant Pot or the slow cooker can benefit from a pre-sear on the grill for an added dimension of deliciousness! Buy the cheapest bale of paper towels you can find and then buy another one! You will want to wipe down anything that has grease on it before it gets to the sink or be prepared to set another place at the table for your plumber! 🤣🤣 This is a wonderfully helpful list!

    Started carnivore yesterday focusing on high fat, lots of butter. I've struggled with insomnia and gut issues and it's rare for me to sleep more than 5.5 hours. Slept 7 hours last night! Having a decaf bulletproof coffee is both delicious and great for getting extra fats in!

    Thank you Bella for your candor about oxylate dumping. I did not know how to ask about this, because the oxylates pouring out of my nose, eyes, and skin had me wearing a mask whenever i was preparing food. I couldn't figure it out. Im 72 years old and wish I had this information years ago. I've been on carnivore since July 21 2023. I was looking online for the best anti-inflammatory diet, I had quit the oils, processed foods, sugar and dairy, one group at a time. I found csrnivore and told my husband it seems extreme but I want to try it for 2 weeks, then it became month, then 90 days, then never looking back. I watch your videos regularly. And wanted to thank you for you hard work. We have both lost 35 pounds and feel so much better. I'm thankful for the day i found Dr. Ken Berry. Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Chaffee and you and so many others.

    I started about a week ago, but was off it for 3 days because of visiting family who do not serve enough protein at meals, but I'm now back on it again. In that time, I'm still down about 5lbs of water weight, and have lost 1 in. on the belly, 2 in. on the waist, 1/2 in. on the hips, and have cut down overall pain levels by about 75%. I'm liking how it feels, except for the initial bowel symptoms, but I'm managing. Got a minimum of 104 lbs to lose just to get to a healthy weight. More like 134 lbs to get to an ideal weight for my frame/ height. Have complications, post-thyca, BAM, GERD, arthritis, possible lipidema, etc., some of which I hope this can help. I did keto a few years back and lost 57 lbs, but gained all that back and then some. Carb addiction is massive, but coping so far with this WOE. Thank you for the tips!

    Day 3 and i did meal prep. I’ve been eating sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese, chicken and steak. I did have a handful of romaine lettuce with my meal yesterday as i need to ease into things since my carb and sugar intake was previously high. I also took some lmnt with my water to avoid keto flu and magnesium. So far i feel fine. No bloat which is great but i have experienced trouble sleeping and diarrhea. I’m grateful to have found this channel. It’s been really helpful in starting out.

    • @ninaredenius1009
      @ninaredenius1009 Місяць тому +1

      The diarrhea is the worst - not only do I believe it’s the stuff you’ve accumulated in your body that’s leaving, I also think it’s your body adjusting to a better way of eating, but it does adjust after about a week or two, depending on you. I have no gall bladder, so it took a bit of learning, for me, in what and when I could eat. I did notice, in the beginning, that too much fat would give me very loose stool or diarrhea, now my body has adapted and I can eat much more fat, which I love. I have also noticed that when I choose to stray, I get diarrhea, and it’s almost like my body is flushing out the inferior food, and then if I’ve eaten inferior food for too long, there’s another adjustment episode or two when I go back to eating carnivore. So, as long as I eat meat,my stomach stays steady and I have no episodes where I’m running to the bathroom.

    Ha! You're doing EXACTLY what I do I use InstantPot and Airfryer and occasionally a ceramic frypan for my shrimp cooked in butter or a single waffle iron from Dash. I shop 2x's a month to have enough butter, beef, fish and shrimp. I agree it's much cheaper than buying veg's and fruits even frozen. I do a meal plan 2 days in advance so I can defrost. I freeze all my meat and fish in vacuum bags. I sous vide the trick-tip roast (gave up on steaks I much prefer TRI-TIP) I never say I can't have any food I just say I have to be prepared to suffer the results of eating them. It usually stops me from wanting foods I used to eat.

  • @hawkforce4295
    @hawkforce4295 Місяць тому +3

    Yeah I hear you. I don’t have any problems with meals. I eat ground beef and eggs. I also moved from tallow to ghee. That’s what I eat. Once a month I get bacon and I use airfryer for bacon.

    This was very helpful Bella I am just 6 weeks into my journey ive lost 10 lbs and can finally suck in my stomach and it actually goes in , I got tired of looking 9 months pregnant no matter what i ate, i tried to be vegan for 6 years and practiced vegetarian for several years before vegan, i loved tuna and salmon so i did eat fish my last 4 years so i became pesitarian but only had fish every 2 days. I lived eggs but I really bloate eating them so right now im very boring its beef only every day , butter and a few pork rinds if i want to crunch, it was a rough 2 weeks in the beginning but LMNT really helped and still does, occasionally i try tuna but its not tasting good so I will just be patient. Im 65 and want to just feel better lately ive felt so good and normal which i love. I had 40lbs to lose so only 30 more to go but I truly believe im a carnivore for life ❤😊❤

    Ugh I see all these success stories, but I feel terrible!! 😭 I started really being strict keto mostly carnivore a month ago and I’ve been absolutely exhausted. It’s nice that I’m sleeping, because I’ve struggled with insomnia for 30+ years, but I’m wrecked. And I’ve been paleo for 20+ years!!! I did drink alcohol for a lot of that time, but no other sugar or carbs for 20+ years!! And I’ve had gnarly chronic illness for 30+ years, which is why I went paleo- and it really helped in a lot of ways but the last 6 years have been awful. I can’t take another downturn, I need to keep a job and a roof over my head 😭
