The damage in this fender may have been caused by someone hitting the car. My customer came out to his car in a parking lot and found this large dent in the fender.
He wanted to use paintless dent removal for this repair instead of having to go through the body shop where they would have a much higher cost and more intensive repair.
Now this dent in the fender was right over the clear film applied to the car as a rock chip protection. While the dent did slightly damage the film, I was still trying to save the customer from having to replace the film across the whole front of the car at a cost of several hundred dollars.
The paintless dent repair techniques needed to remove this damage in the fender and save the film required using soft PDR tools and knockdowns so as to not cause any additional damage.
The first PDR technique I used was moving down the major crowns in the panel with a soft rubber ball on my PDR hammer. This allowed just slight, soft movement from the outside of the panel. Removing the crowns takes some of the pressure off of the dented area. This helps for when we need to push out the dent to allow much softer pushing to not cause any sharp push marks.
The next technique for PDR on this fender I used a PDR tool with a soft tip attached. This made it so that I could just softly push up the dent from behind.
The final paintless dent removal technique uses other tips on the PDR hammer to knock down some high spots and blend out the metal.
This fender dent repair was completed with excellent results. Now, if you are in need of paintless dent removal for your car and you are local to the Blaine Minnesota area, then contact me at the info below.
I look forward to providing excellent service and repair for you.

Thanks for watching the Paintless Dent Repair Technique on repairing this fender.
These methods of PDR are specific for just this one dent and car. There are many more ways to remove dents depending on the damage and the location of the dent. Paintless Dent Removal is not just a one-step process to pop out dents.
You can find many more videos of other PDR techniques of removing dents on my channel. You can also see more dent removal for creases here: ua-cam.com/play/PLOT7tjMiI6PHCl8bvI3k3acqkR694nmmk.html

Great Video. You are patient and obviously an expert. I have an identical dent on the line of my car. How much should I pay a paintless dent removal professional, like you,
to do the exact same job you just did in this video?

Thanks! Yes, trying to film and then also repair the dents takes extra time. Sometimes as much as 2-3 times as long. Luckily I have my own shop and can have customers drop their cars off for the day for these larger PDR repairs.

This just happened to me yesterday on my 2013 Accord EX sedan. I have the protective film in the same spot as the car in this video, but of course my long dent starts directly after the film cuts off. So my dent happened on my paint. I immediately gripped it using my fingers to try and pull/pop the long sent back out (it kinda worked but maybe I should’ve just left it alone)
My dent is long and in the same exact crease in the fender as the car you’re working on, just maybe 1/2 inch to the right. It looks terrible! It’s long and “wavy” .
I’m detailer, so I’m hoping I can use my Griot’s DA polisher and take off the scratch (hoping it’s just paint transfer and not my actual paint scraped off). I haven’t had time to really inspect it yet.
If you know anyone in Arizona who could help me with this who wouldn’t charge me an arm, a leg, and my firstborn, that would be amazing! I’m too afraid to buy the tools and do it myself! I do own a heat gun, thinking about it, maybe that’s why I was able to pull (or bend) the fender out with my fingers because it was 113° outside. I don’t even know how much it would cost to fix. I’m so sad! My first car, bought it all cash ($13,500) exactly 2 years ago in 3 days on the 6th. Plus being a detailer, this sent probably upsets me more than most. Haha I just want to cry but I know that won’t fix it, Sad but true! Novel aside, great video! Thank you!

got a question. not trying to bash on anything. since the metal is stretched when the dent happens. how strong is the repair ? say you pulled out a dent on a rear quarter and someone leans on the same spot. will it pop back in much easier than normal ?

    • @exceldentremoval
      @exceldentremoval  5 років тому +2

Great question! I’ve been ask this before. The short answer is no it won’t, but let me explain why.
Most dents that can be repaired using painless dent removal are not actually stretched. Most often the metal is just “displaced”. This means that the dent goes in and the metal goes out. With this dent that is why I had to use the hammer to move the metal back into the dented area.
I have another video that explains this here: ua-cam.com/video/_Vtd_ICvNOY/v-deo.html
Now when we are using PDR to repair a dent, even if it is a little sharp and slightly stretched, we can use shaper tools to “shrink” the metal. This will also strengthen the area.
Because we are pushing the metal out slowly and not just “popping” out the dent, we don’t have a problem with it going back to a dent.
One last thing. We now also have new tools and techniques coming out that can allow us to shrink the stretched metal when done by a professional. So in the case of a small very deep and stretched dent, we can work on it to a point and then use these new tools to help shrink and finish the paintless dent repair with excellent results.

Great video. What is the approximate cost for this repair.

The cost for paintless dent removal can vary based on the damage. Not every dent is the same.
We use an estimating software that take into account the size, depth and location of the dent for a cost. Sometimes there are other factors which can also add to the cost.
I can’t remember what the cost was to remove this dent. I would guess it was in the $250-$450 range.

Good Job and i have a question for you I’ve done PDR for almost 3 years and i would like to know if you could teach me how to do a good finish online I live in portland, oregon and if the answer is yes i can give you my email or phone number.

      Thanks for watching!!
Since you already have experience with PDR and you probably need a little more advanced training. Then I’d suggest finding someone that can give you one on one training to be able to show you exactly where you can make improvements. It would be difficult to be able to see what’s needed through online teaching.
