- Sadly, this isn't all that uncommon. I had stopped to check tire pressure when I fueled up just 15 minutes before the tire came apart. Lots of bent metal, broken wiring, and destroyed fender flairs. I can't believe we traveled 8k miles just to have a tire blow only an hour and a half from home.
You should do a “basics you should know before you go” vlog. What you should be able to do or know before you embark on an rv trip. And essential tools

We blew a tire on our single axle molded fiberglass Scamp 19’ 5th wheel, on the interstate in Kansas City, KS. It blew a hole in the floor , inside a cupboard. A wonderful officer from the KS State Police pulled in behind us, engaged his emergency lights, loaned us his Jack which was better than on ours, and even insisted on changing the tire for us! What a wonderful gentleman. We finished our trip, sold the Scamp “as is”, and bought a brand new Scamp. Happy Camping!

I have travelled to so many countries, including the US (Florida and California) and it seems to me that the US has pretty much everything. Almost every type of landscape that I can think of!

I loved your travel videos! We camped when I was growing up. Mom and dad took me camping when I was 6 weeks old and my oldest brother was 2. You've got to be crazy to do that in my mind lol.

I think we need some how-to videos on basic mechanical things, and what to always keep in the car. Probably wouldn't get a ton of views, but could be super helpful. Not everyone learns that stuff, or remembers how to do it.

I had that happen with a retread on my big car a long time ago. The wires from the tire came up and shredded the new sparkly paint job on my car. It was night time coming home from Sea World San Diego, CA. I am so sorry that happened to you.

Glad Asa knew how to change a tire most men now a days can't do much. Thank god mines pretty handy to there's not much he can't do he's like Asa mister fix it with everything. Something that's a lost thing now a days most guys can't do much always need help or willing to pay to have it done. Glad u made it home safe.

Have loved following you on your travels cross country! I do have a tip for your freezer! If it still stinks, fill up a few bowels with some charcoal briquets and place them in the freezer. It may still take some time to get the smell out, but it will get rid of it!

Get the axel alignment, wheel alignment and tire balance checked. Those are usually out of whack from the factory. And will cause such blow outs. Also a tire pressure monitoring system will catch most low pressure issues.
Asa you and Isaiah should go camping on sapelo island we take our boat and the kids absolutely love it

Same thing happened to us on our way home back to Florida from our 2 week camping trip. That was a year ago last September.

Well I thought I had gone nuts. I knew you referenced this blowout over a month ago and I figured I must have misunderstood that there would be a video about it. Whereas I’m sorry for all the damage that it caused at least it was at the end of your adventure. 🤷♀️.
I thought when my tire blew on my Toyota Camry it was the end of the world. Nope I think a tire blow out on an RV would be worse. So glad Asa knows what he's doing. I'd be on the side of the road crying if I was there. Lord please make sure my future husband is mechanically inclined like Asa 🙏.
This happened to us once on our fifth wheel trailer. I think we were o our way to the campground and the tire blew. Tore up all the siding and might have broken that same slide out wire. That was many years ago. Now my dad has a motor home and I have a tent. Different growing up in a camper to now tent camping.
Blown tire caused some damage. That sucks. Teething problems. 👍♥️👍

If you parked it forever on unrestricted land would flat tires mess with the “foundation”?
Put a dish of fresh coffee grounds in the fridge and it will absorb the smell! Trust me it works. Disclaimer do not use those grounds to brew any coffee afterwards😜🤪🤣

Do you have an electronic tire air monitoring for your travel trailer?
The moveover law only applies for stopped law enforcement, emergency, sanitation, utility service vehicles and tow trucks. It should apply for all stopped vehicles since people drive crazy here in Florida.
Here in Ontario Canada it may not be a law but common sense says to love over when a vehicle is stopped at side of highway ..

There is a saying that goes, "the only thing that works in the camper is the owner".
This is definitely the worst part of travel trailers. Our old fifth wheel blew 2 crossing WI and killed our fender in the last 5 miles. Just another "fun" story to laugh about later. Campers are amazing and terrible all at once. Embracing the bad makes for fun memories later. We were just freaking out this past weekend about Florida's lack of emergency lane space. Seems like everyone just ended up in the grass because it doesn't look like a car would be out of the lane if not in the grass. I would be terrified trying to do this with no room to get over. Maybe ours are bigger because of the snow getting plowed.

The same thing happened to my brother's Imagine trailer.
My Dad was a mechanic too. This is why we would never travel this way. Drive car or fly to our destination. Camping looks like a complete nightmare.

Hey travel maass Maybe sometimes you guys go to trips from Ohio and you guys come to see my mom I Certs and then my dad and maybe sometimes you guys do the trips and you guys come to Queen city and then our town my town
Crazy thing on Thursday this past week my dad was getting ready to go camping with ca friend and he was removing the tire cover and saw that he had a flat tire at 10pm before leaving on his trip
That’s what you can a “China bomb tire” first thing to do when you buy a new trailer is replace the tires!
