Picking Up A Hitchhiker

- We added a traveler to our journey in Salt Lake City. It's my our son Isaiah...don't freak out. Picking up hitchers isn't safe...never do that. Firehole Canyon Campground was spectacular. A truly hidden gem.
Guys be sure to push the drinking of water or fluids in the high altitudes to help avoid altitude sickness( head aces/fatigue). Advice from a Colorado high country native. Loving these videos.
this seems perfect for Abbie, no crazy ceilings and stuff in the outdoors. Lots of going and music :) I bet the dogs are loving their new walks too. Great times for everyone. I'm insanely jealous. I'm not a outdoorsy person but I'm tempted to try a road trip.
I have autism like Abbie but I’m not nonverbal
Thank y'all so much for sharing all of this with us!! I'm a girl with MS so I'm limited on what I can do & where I can go so when I say thank you I mean it from the bottom of my heart. All of the videos & pictures are so beautiful & peaceful they make me cry. God bless all of you always!!
You Guys are seeing so many States! Be Safe, Have fun & Make lot’s of Memories! Abbie is having a Good Time! God’s Blessings on You & Your Family!
Abbie seems sooooo happy driving and discovering. 😀😍🥰🦋🦋
Maybe invest in a satellite phone for those times when you aren’t anywhere service is. For safety reasons. Thanks for taking us with you on your USA tour💖
Yes
OH! And I just went to Moab UT a few weeks ago and holy red rocks! It was gorgeous! Reminded me of the red rocks here in Sedona AZ! I watch a bunch of vloggers in UT as well! 5 to love, Jami Ray Vintage, the Dashleys. 🥰
YAY. I live here in Wyoming, was raised here and i love it. There is so much to do and see. Im soo happy that your family enjoyed Wyoming, and thought it is as beautiful as i do! :)
What an absolutely fabulous trip !!! Beautiful and peaceful . Oh the memories!!
Jemez, New Mexico has some really beautiful red rocks. They are bright red
I’ve been to the Valley of the Gods in Utah; spectacular!
Abbie swinging by the fire was life goals! I know this summer has been super great for her. Live well while there’s no school Abbie!
💋🧚🏻♀️❤️🇺🇸
Imagine that trip with a wagon train! How wonderful your sharing this with us! My hubby wouldn’t travel..
Y’all probably never experienced such quiet & peacefulness. Abbie must have loved this experience so much! Nothing but the crackling of the fire and your voice on the wind. 💆💆♀️
That is so awesome! She knew what she wanted and she went for it. She recognized her surroundings as a gas station and said my gas stations have these in this spot I'm going to go look there. Go Abbie!! Mind you she couldn't/didn't communicate it and just took off but still freaking awesome!
Abby looks so comfy swinging away!!
Have a great trip going around the country. Have fun!! It looks like Abbie is doing well. Love your videos
I would love if y’all made a list of campgrounds y’all do and don’t recommend!
It's good to see Abbie enjoying the camp life
My mom and stepdad live at campground year round it's called America camps and Bracey Virginia there's town is South Hill it's an hour away from North Carolina border I usually go down in the summer in June during my birthday baby I'll see you down there one time and get to meet Abbie Maass crew
When your in an area that has no service put your phone on airplane mode to save the battery.
I've always wanted to do what y'all are doing. So great to see it with you guys 😊
If your fridge isn’t keeping cool off propane, there is an issue. Our fridge is just as cold on propane as electric. Enjoy your adventure:) we have a beautiful country.
They are in Wyoming. The altitude plays a HUGE factor in everything. The lack of humidity does as well.
Beautiful…
Beautiful area I lived in rawlins Wyoming growing up.
Utah has the largest costco in the U.S. i believe.
Its actually the largest costco in the world
105 and above degree weather is the norm in the high desert of California.
Great view I love it nice to know this nice to see you again love you 💖
Looks like you have hazy skies from the wildfires out there as well? Here in Indiana, it's been hazy for days due to the smoke.
I love watching Addie swing
#1 thing to change is the fridge to a 3 way so you can manage it with propane when you are not camping. #2 a cellphone signal booster. And #3 tracer tags for the dogs
This is How we Bingham & Our life in Hollen live in Utah
Hey mass’s it’s might be a fun idea to do a US map for abby’s swinging and all of your adventures using stickers on the places Abby swings, roadside attractions, places you’ve stayed, favorites, bucket list, Mount Rushmore, etc. when you get home you can frame it, add photos, notes, moments in time, thoughts. It’s amazing to have down the road, just looking at it and one of those notes or stickers or pictures might instantly bring you back to that special moment.
Welcome to my neck of the woods. I’m in Nevada. And its HOT HOT around here - (Arizona. Utah. California Nevada )
I really enjoy watching your family and vlogs
Fire hole Canyon is a stones throw from where I live.
We have the haziness from the fires here in Cincinnati, Ohio. I always think its weird that we have it on the other side of the country.
if I got stranded out without phone service in the dark I wouldn't know what I would do.
What did you do for summer break Abbie? Traveled the U.S.A. 🇺🇸🚙 It's just amazing thinking about it! 💌💯
I just fell out of my chair... "a lot of Mormon family UA-cam. Of course, it's Utah!" ROTFLMAO
I think you picked the hottest summer in years to travel out West you guys…but I hope you’re all enjoying your vacay!!!
Hello Maass family. 🥰😘❤
Utah the beginning of the red rocks.
How did Isaiah end up in Utah?
Is this camper theirs or is it ace's dad's camper
Why don't you just replace it or get it patched? Safe travels.
I’m sorry if I’m repeating a question already asked.. is that ur new truck????
Utah has such a diverse landscape and beautiful national parks. You’re probably traveling through the ugliest section.
They probably came down I80 since they were in Wyoming. That is gross country for both states.
Were do you guys keep your trailer went your in Florida? You can’t keep it at your house because you guys live in the city?
I’ve only lived in Oregon but we have places everywhere that, you can park your trailers. You pay a monthly fee to keep it parked somewhere.
Some people leave them at campgrounds or they store them there are tons of rv storage places all over florida. I live in my rv full time and a few sites near me are people who just come to get away from home
It could be different here but as long as it is parked off of the street, we can park them at our homes in our state. Many homes here actually have a driveway built beside or behind them specifically for storing RVs and boats.
@@yowyo2006 Exactly. We have an RV driveway at our home.
@@yowyo2006 my brothers neighbor has a special garage for theirs
Wow you have to pay to use the air (in your car) in America, in Australia all you have to do is ask for the air nozzle in the Service stations ( where you all petrol/ gasoline) then you use it then take it back when you are finished
Some places. At most truck stops it's free. A couple quarters is a small price to pay for the cost of the machine and maintenance though.
@@moremaass lol I can’t argue with that lol hope you are having the best time lots of love all the way from Bundaberg Queensland Australia, drive safe and happy travels ❤️
PLEASE MAKE ABBY A SCRAP BOOK WITH SWINGING ADVENTURES✨✨✨🧸I love u all I aspire to have a beautiful family like you all
Could your generator run on oxygen? It would be a possible explanation for why its not working properly.
Small gas engines are jetted to run at a certain elevation. All engines require oxygen but the issue is the fuel to air ratio is off. It can be fixed by rejetting the carburetor to match the altitude but it's not something that's easy enough to just swap out based on elevation.
Issuable lost weight on all his adventures without his wonderful mama chef cooking nice meals for him lol
I would love to sight see in Utah but I can't because my life partner and I are the same gender.
Come to Maryland Waldorf
If you have time when visiting California there's a restaurant in Amador county in the city of Jackson California call Mel's Diner it's not the same as the TV series Alice but they have breakfast lunch and Dinner I think your family will love the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz California but I don't think your daughter may not like the sounds they have a lot of rides at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk roller coaster in other sounds just trying to be helpful Monterey Bay Aquarium has lots of fishes and they also have the best salt water taffy in California the Monterey Bay Aquarium it's where they film Star Trek 4 the Voyage Home some scenes
Lol you guys should get duck donuts while in utah.
I know this is not popular view but l will take my tropical Florida landscape weather etc any day. All that open nothing is not for me. I come from New York originally. But enjoy your trip.
How come you didn't go up further North ? North Dakota has the Badlands there too. Many wonderful attractions as well. Medora musical, North/ South Units to the Badlands ect. The only thing is we are in a drought now so there is a fire ban this summer. Check it out.
If she likes cookies for breakfast she should try cookie Chrsp cereal
I think it's still exists
I love how Cilla is so polite to Sandy… “Ma’am, we’re gonna need you in the back” 😆. That difference with the altitude was crazy! But what a pretty place to be though (how idyllic was that fireside montage?) Even if you do have to put up with Marge supervising you 🤣.
❤️
I can’t get over the expanse of you country. It’s massive. Mind boggling to me. I have never seen anything like it. And beautiful. AB’s got the giggles. 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍 it also looks peaceful. Cheeky little camp fire later. It’s good that you are living your dreams. There is certainly no stopping you now !
And it’s awesome that you get to share it with us. Thank you guy’s.. 👍♥️👍🇬🇧
Jemez, New Mexico has some really beautiful red rocks. They are bright red
That is how you know your on vacation... duh... cookies for breakfast.
Be careful not opening your slides all the way. Specially with a schwintek system. One of the big things that can happen is your seals might won’t work fully. If it rains water could get in. I learned it the hard way. Safe travels!
It's a bummer we actually crossed paths and we missed you. We cannot believe we are all out here doing the same. We are writing this comment from Glacier Point in Yosemite!
Suggestion: instead of stickers get iron on/sew patches (of the different startes)to put right on the swing! That would look soo cool plus have a good sentimental aspect too...just a suggestion though 😘 love ya guys!
Also, could you imagine pulling a handcart with all of your worldly possessions in it and you and your family walking from Nauvoo Illinois to Salt Lake City
Utah is not normally this hot. It just so happens you picked the hottest summer of all time to come to Utah.
Spring and Fall are best in Utah. Although we have "the greatest snow on earth" we are still a desert state. Winter is beautiful although I wouldn't recommend hauling a travel trailer unless you're a 10/10 driver in snow.
When we eat outside from the trailer. I have a very sturdy large plastic tray. Target? As I’m preparing the meal. I load the tray. Plates, Cups, Salt Pepper, sauces. I hand it to anyone going outside to place on the table. Also, we have a silverware/napkin basket holder. Dollar store? that stays out on the table from breakfast to sundown.
Abbie is so chilling in the hammock swing, love this for her. I think yous have found to best way for yous to totally relax💯👌🏼
Imagine traveling in a covered wagon.
I literally thought the same thing! God Bless the early pioneers...especially the women. They were tough cookies for sure. Loving being able to travel vicariously thru the Maass family!
That is a pretty view but the view of the Oregon coast from Hwy 101 beats almost any view. Not that I’m a biased Oregonian or anything.
I can’t wait to see the salt flats! Me and my boyfriend moved from southern missouri to Oregon back in September and driving through the salt flats was amazing!!
America is beautiful. We have done 2 similar road trips with my husband and kids (all the way from Ireland): we land, hire a car, and off we go. Similar driving times: 5 hours or so daily, sometimes less. We stop on the way to visit fun or beautiful places. We stay in hotels/motels... I plan the trip in the dark, damp winter months, I looove the planning, even though when we're there I have no problem changing things. We have done it twice: stay 2 weeks, travel around 3000 kilometres or so. First loop was California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and back to travel down California again. Second trip was Colorado, NM, AZ, Utah, Wyoming. Our next trip, hopefully next year if things are back to normal, will be Vancouver Canada into Pacific North West, into Idaho Montana of course, and looping back via Banff sort of thing. I'm like Priscilla on our travels. Love the scenery, amazed at the big sky, the open road, how big everything is... I love these really long roads. You would have enjoyed looping via Area 51/Rachel, NV, it's gorgeous and Little Ale'inn very fun, but it is pretty long. In case you are on your way out to Grand Canyon, below Kingsman the old gold town of Oatman is worth a detour (mules/donkeys roaming in the street). Oh, and for fun places/curiosities on the way, check out the Atlas Obscura map of the world's extraordinary sights. Great way to find curiosities along the road !
Asa, just keep in mind that when you partially open your slide like you did in your kitchen, you're not getting a full water seal there, so if you get rain it's going to get into your slide and cause damage. I wouldn't recommend it. Just a tip from a full-timer over here. Travel well!
Someone else just said don't put your slides all the way out or your seals could fail. Glad I don't have to worry about that. Safe travels.
Thanks for the tip. Fortunately (and unfortunately for the area) there hasn't been rain for a long time.
@@teresamariner4238 NOT true. NOT true at all. Put them all the way out. How else are you supposed to stay water tight?
How does Isaiah keep popping in and out of different states?! 😂
I asked the same question, I said why is Isaiah there and how did he get there. I’m hoping somebody knows and they can answer because it’s the second time he’s popped up and I don’t know where he’s coming from.
I believe that Isaiah was traveling with a buddy and joined the rest of the family in Cali and has been with then since.
Bet the hitchhiker had: good hair, dimples, a shy, crooked smile, and that Abbie went "Ga-gaa" over him... After she tried wrestling him though .... Picking up GORGEOUS kids thumbing it out there on the road ... Uhhh... I see you ... making Mrs. Cilia cry and ruin her 💄 make-up ... Uhhh see you Asa. I see U ...
Amazing video! My husband and I are going to do the whole USA in our RV in two years.I can't wait.I love road trips I regularly do a 24 hour straight to New mexico from Tennessee .I love it!
Such beautiful sites!! So glad Isaiah is with you now!! Keep having a great time!!❤️❤️❤️
I’m in awe of the amazing adventures you’ve having ASA,Priscilla & Abbie...thank you for sharing it with us...💚☘️🇮🇪
I’m on the other side of the world but feel I’m travelling through America with you....
All 3 of you give the vibes of total contentment ......dreams do come through......I’m so happy for you that yours are coming to fruition xxxx❤️❤️❤️
When you said hitch hiker I thought you were going to get another pet
The drive is beautiful 🌞💕 Wow! What was the altitude?? It is a wonderful campground ! 💕 Great place for soul searching and great quality family time ♥️
I live in Utah. That would of been so cool, to run into you guys somewhere 🥰
Great to see another travel video. Have Maverick or Sandy taken off chasing any wildlife, especially on the boon docking sites? Do they or Abbie seem to be aware of the difference with the nair? I didn’t see any posted speed limits on that ~ 60 mike stretch of highway in Wyoming. Are there “ typical “ speed limits for those open, sparsely traveled sections of the highway? Thank you for taking us along this awesome trip.
Woo hoo first view and comment... lol life goals 🤣
Maass Family, awesome trip beautiful places ..
Abbie chilling in that hammock, great moments ..
.🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂.
Dramamine works for altitude sickness too!
My husband & I had just an older 23' travel trailer for local camping. We just had it for a couple years & did local camping here in Iowa. C
We enjoyed city & county campgrounds. We stayed out for like several longer periods of time, to where we had to move camper to a different spot after 2 weeks. Last summer, we had too much trouble dealing with sitting loading, sitting up, unloading & getting emptied & done! We decided to sell the camper to our daughter, for a good price, for their family to enjoy. I have to admit there have been ones this summer I have really missed it! Watching your trip has been really fun! You will continue to find several! thing, the more you use the camper, that will help you organize better for your family or make it your own! If you haven't, I suggest joining an on-line RV group! You can learn so much h & ask any questions!
LOVING your travels!!!🥰🤗
GOD IS AMAZING
I’m just curious (and I apologize if this has been asked previously), how are Abbie and the doggies adjusting to the higher altitude?
Cilla you should get a map of the US (maybe magnetic?) and let Abigail put the state on the map that you are visiting in its place....make it a whole thing! 🥰
Freeze water bottles before travel days and add them into the fridge to help with the temperature! My parents did this when we traveled when I was younger.
I watching your family videos
I'm enjoying my virtual travels via Maass Travels
When I was going to Louisiana I passed Utah Wyoming New Mexico all the states
Beautiful
Hi from 1stie
Hey Roz
Love seeing Abbie swinging in her hammock by the fire. Looked so relaxing!
Thanks for taking us along! What’s next????
