Nice job, Kyle. I've carved one bear and surprisingly the eyes actually turned out fairly well. I drilled holes for black marbles and glued them in. Then filled in around the marbles with wood filler (comes in a can) using the tip of a knife. Once I painted it, you can't tell I used wood filler. Keep up the good work.

I'm really new at this, but I've been getting good results with ball burrs to do eyes.

No I do not . I use an exterior polyurethane
