Since you used spray paint on the bears, don't you have to use the oil based helmsman sealer on it? Most spray paint is oil based so I'd think your sealer also has to be oil based, correct? Can you put acrylic/water based helsman on top of spray painted pieces?

I can no longer get the oil based helmsman in a gallon in NY so I have been using the acrylic over the spray paint. Seems to be working fine
After torching it it’s done ? U do not need to spray epoxy or some sorta coat to protect it ? Does it ever crack because weather ?
I like to use an exterior polyurethane to protect the carving
