    Gordon Ramsay also has a YT channel where he is by himself in his home kitchen, just very calmly making delicious dishes. No drama at all, and the videos are incredibly informative and wonderful. It's something I always try to watch when I'm stressed out, so I can relax.

    This is just classic British swearing. It’’s absolute chef’s kiss level cordon bleu cursing. Makes me proud.
    Also Marco Pierre White, as well as being an amazing chef, is hated in Jamaica because he did a video showing how to make Rice and Peas that is so far from authentic that Jamaicans lost their shit over it. Worth watching the video

    There’s “Hells Kitchen” which is where chefs compete to run one of Gordon Ramseys Restaurants.
    There’s “Kitchen Nightmares” where he basically goes into failing restaurants, changes the menu and tries to help them run a successful restaurant, pretty much just like “Bar Rescue” with Jon Taffer.
    But my favorite is Master Chef because it’s not just Gordon Ramsey but other well respected chefs. Plus there’s a lot less screaming and more details into what everyone is actually making.

      well the Italian guy is not so respected lol look up his family issues caught basically keeping a slave XD also he doesn't even cook at least his mother was an actual chef he is just a restaurateur who sexually harasses the women on the show lol one of the earlier seasons a lady dropped out because of him but they covered it all up and he often disagrees with gordon who asks him if he is serious lol because he is really picky and has a terrible palette it seems I'm sad he is back for the latest season though he seems to have toned it down.

    Anyone entering hells kitchen after series 1 is there at their own risk in my eyes. I played sports to rep level here in the uk during the 80/90s and came across people like Gordon who would shout and scream to get a reaction out of you. It works with some and others crumble, but hes made a food empire on having the very best standards attainable so it works.

    I use to think Gordon Ramsay was being a huge jerk about everything and he kinda is but I slowly understood and start to admire the man. He is so knowledgeable and good that he can say what he say and do what he does and it'll make sense. Like if it was one of us doing this and we slip off one information that is incorrect, all of your students would devour us alive. That means this guy has to be at the highest level of his game all the time. That is insanely hard to do. When you're grilling people this hard, it means everyone wants to find any tiny fault in what you say, but look at these people, they know they got nothing on him. He's that awesome. That's the pinnacle of a career, he is indeed one of the top chiefs in the world. He has full authority and confidence. But I wouldn't want to be his student, I'm too fragile haha.

    Another great cooking show probably before your time was "Iron Chef" a timed Japanese cooking show competition with limited ingredients to cook with. If you check it out make sure it's the original Iron Chef because it branched out into Iron Chef America and so on.

    • @casemcdonald2152
      @casemcdonald2152 3 місяці тому

      That's because a chef from San Diego won, and the Japanese had to accept it. It was rigged before, but that time, the American was the one who actually met all of the requirements. Really upset Japan.
      They had to make all of the courses with the ingredient, and the ingredient was squid. The Japanese chef figured nobody could make a dessert with squid. The American made squid ink ice cream. That was absolutely genius. Anyone who has processed squid knows what I'm saying. It's absolutely genius.

    Big Gordon Ramsey fan here. I don't like competition shows too much, but I like Kitchen Nightmares, the show where he goes to try to help a struggling restaurant. There's more material to work with if you want Gordon Ramsay's insults, plus sometimes it's inspirational. Another good one is Hotel Hell, where he does the same thing but for the entire hotel. You can find full episodes of each on UA-cam, his company uploads them to you too but you could probably use them legally. The name of each channel is the name of each show. Uncharted is sort of like a travel show combined with cooking the local food. That should get you started. It's available on Hulu and elsewhere probably.

    Ramsay is actually a pretty nice guy. Most of these clips are for Hell's Kitchen or American TV shows where he is amplifying his persona for American audiences and ratings. Of course, he comes from an old school fine dining bootcamp backround where a lot of these chefs were brought up harshly in an almost military like setting kind of like the popular tv show, The Bear. So he's tough when he is actually running a kitchen and taking care of business, but almost any other setting he is very friendly and cares a lot about other people.

  • @kaojinn
    @kaojinn 3 місяці тому +2

    The first few times I saw Ramsay berating people, it was in out of context clips like a lot of these are. But we're seeing the highlight reel of when he's run out of patience, and he does indeed have some. He operates at the elite level of cooking, and that doesn't mean that it has to be overly pretentious. But it does mean that it has to be prepared, seasoned, and cooked perfectly. In Hell's Kitchen, these are trained chefs that have gone through culinary school, worked in kitchens, and are aspiring to work for him, or run their own restaurant. When they make basic mistakes, like sending out undercooked, overcooked, or contaminated food, he... will lose... his shit. But that's deserved. They know better, and are usually acting like a child that broke a lamp after the parent already told them no ball in the house twice that day.
    Now the other scenes we saw where he's talking to brits looks like its from Kitchen Nightmares. The majority of the time what you see on Kitchen Nightmares is unqualified, overly confident, or pretentious cooks. They may or may not have attended culinary school, but they are running a failing restaurant, and Ramsay is there to identify the problem areas and get the owners to realize them. More often than not, the cooks get lazy and prep/freeze a massive overabundance of stock, and reheat to order. At that point, they're serving TV dinners at restaurant prices. OR, they let their standards slip, and he uncovers a highly unsanitary kitchen/food storage. Most of the time, these people are complacent to the point of delusional about how good their food is, when you can see they're making microwaved garbage. The easiest way to get them to realize they're doing it wrong is to insult them until they break. Once they break, his tone shifts, and he begins helping them get back in touch with what they loved about cooking, and does some cooking with them to reignite their passion for it. Once the restaurant is ready to reopen with the renewed chef, they get the Hell's Kitchen treatment, and its sink or swim.

  • @fellforit
    @fellforit 3 місяці тому +1

    You should watch the British version of Kitchen Nightmares. It's far less dramatic and more concerned with characters than manufactured drama. The thing with Ramsay is he really care, REALLY cares, about his craft and his product, and his anger is almost always about his skill being disrespected and his craft being maligned. He gets so upset at people who turn out shit food to bored customers, but it comes from a place of wanting those restaurants to prosper and serve good food to happy customers.
    The other point to make is that his training at the hands of other chefs like Marco Pierre White was brutal and equally abusive. It's just how people of that kind of art learned.

    Watch Master Chef where he deals with home cooks to see a softer side of DemoGordon . lol 😅
    He can be kind. He also had Hotel Hell, and 24 hours to Hell and back. Gives failing reastautants a makeover and the staff have to work through the night for the relaunch. No sleep!
    Tubi has his old shows for free. the app is free with ads. enjoy. ❤

    I could watch Gordon all day, honestly. One of my favorite clips is him arguing with another English chef who he was helping out, from Kitchen Nightmares or something of the like. The chef basically talked to him like he talks to everyone else, but he was still conceding that he didn't know what Gordon was trying to teach him, and that he'll go learn to do that right now. Even Gordon was a bit baffled by it 😂

    Marco Pierre white was the name you were trying to think of and when Gordon was younger Marco took him to France and he taught Gordon Ramsey everything he knows today.

    The constant pressure of working in a kitchen would be way too much for me, i love cooking for others and myself though,
    Story time : Just working washing dishes in a restaurant was too much for me, I stopped after 1 week because it was ungrateful, not hygienic and especially because of the people.
    (6 cooks, 3 washing disher, 4 servers and 3 executives)
    For the most part they were imcompetent awkward superficial people trash talking all day, it all seemed like a telereality as i've heard each week people leave and people come, I gave my demission at the end of the first week and still said I'd stay for the time needed and tried to go on but the first day of the 2nd week i got sick and went home.
    This happened last winter and im still traumatized to work with people like that on a schedule, way too much pressure that my burning out limit can't take.

    If Gordon lets get food out, it's not just good, it's delicious. I went to Gordon Ramsay Street Burger once, and it was the best burger I ever had (I'm german, gemany invented the burger (and the hto dog), so I'm really picky when it comes to burgers.) It was fantastic. A little bit more expansive than your average burger, but totally worth the price.

    Keep in mind, these clips are from the earlier seasons of Hell's Kitchen when he was more vile and over the top then anything. However watching the newer seasons of Hell's Kitchen, he's definetly mellowed and toned down the vitriol even though he's still as harsh as ever. Having said that however, imo he is still an amazing chef, social media personality, person, and father and his social medias like his TikTok and Instagram make him incredibly fun and relatable.

    I never enjoyed Hell's Kitchen very much. Too much bullying, shock value, drama. The atmosphere was some kind of doomsday cult where everyone competes for the approval of the leader. His earlier show "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" was so much better. It was genuinely about saving restaurants from going out of business. Sure, there was some drama from time to time, but it was centered on getting a real business back on track.

    iirc, one of the reasons why Ramsay is harsh here is because all of the contestants are supposed to be professionally trained chefs who are all looking to take the next step in their careers. but are constantly making mistakes that they shouldn't be making at that level (like burning the customers food or not knowing the oven was off).
    That's why conversely he's nicer on MasterChef. because the contestants on that show aren't really professionals. They're just regular people who like to cook as a hobby rather than as a profession. Which is why he gives them more leeway when they make mistakes.

    i worked in the restaurant for 20 years know still working and when people say its fake smh what you see in the show is much real than people thank i had chefs acting crazy on people GMS doing the same thing to cooks now they wasn't on GR level but close enough to were i was going to beat my chefs ass so the show is 80% real with the heat in the kitchen and 20 % fake for TV lol and the seasons are still growing strong they are working on season 23 right now and i watch every since season and it gets better every time lol but people don't understand GR loves what he does for the industry of food so on theses shows he's not faking for a TV SHOW its him being very passionate about food and helping people chefs to be strong may not like his ways but it works
