Yep, Bull Sharks and Crocodiles frequent the waters of Queensland Australia. So much so that we joke with tourists who ask, "Are there any Sharks here?" "No, The Crocs ate them all."
Sharks actually HATE the taste of Humans, the only things that get a shark to attack a Human is if the shark is confused (a surfboard makes the yucky Human look like a delicious Seal) or in the throws of a blood frenzy.
I always wonder why humans taste bad to a lot of other predators. We're kinda like a last resort for animas (see human killing tigers) I just assume we don't have enough fat content.
You were correct, it is, of course, Australia, it's the Salt Water Crocodile specifically that he is referring to, which commonly runs in the same waters as the bull shark, including in brackish water rivers and coastal ocean waters.
@@Blackbrownie101 Saltwater crocodiles aren't found in the Americas, they would have to cross the entire Pacific Ocean which isn't possible for them. We do, however, have American crocodiles which are found in Florida, Mexico, and the Caribbean (also the Morelet's crocodile, Cuban crocodile, and Orinoco crocodile, all in Latin America).
Crocs and bull sharks interact in Florida. Really, they're a global ranging, coastal to inland type of animal. I know from experience that they interact in Florida. on top of that, I've seen via documentary how they encounter Nile crocodiles and even Mugger crocs. And both have been around for literal hundreds of millions of years, so probably have been beefing for a while.
First time seeing this. Shiiiiiiit!!!! Was watching on my phone. With headphones. I jumped, and then slipped/fell off my bed. That took me by surprise. Heart rate definitely jumped.
A world without sharks. That would make the most realistic movie series of all time “Sharknado” seem fake and unrealistic. Also, I weigh about 250 and I believe the pee thing was a mental block for people to think more about getting peed on and possibly forget about the pain.
Lmao "PEE ON ME! JUST DO IT!" lol. Nah but pretty sure it was perpetuated from the episode on Friends with Monica getting stung and getting Joey to pee on her.
Sharks and Crocodiles - Costa Rica. Estuaries on the Osa Peninsula have Crocs upstream and the Bull Sharks come in with the rising tide, (you can see them swimming through the waves). I've waded through those rivers, crocs not a problem, Bull Sharks are contact feeders and will bite anything they bump into in murky water. Also Bull Sharks tolerate salt and freshwater so swim up the Rio San Juan and inhabit Lago Cocibolca in Nicaragua. Nice to see your spidey senses tingling there, made me smile.
The more you know. Thanks for the info. Other than Australia I thought quite a lot of places in Central/S.America had the most ideal place for both the prehistoric giants to meet. Again thanks for the knowledge (Try not to swim in the Osa peninsula)
Your guess of Australia for the place where bull sharks meet crocs was absolutely correct. It’s almost funny how often Australia is the answer to any "nature being wild" question.
I have been obsessed with marine life ever since I went to Windsor Safari Park in 1987, when I was 4 years old, and an Orca called Winnie swam up to an underground window next to me and I waved at her, and she nodded her head. In retrospect, she was probably crying out for help, but at the time I felt I connection with a 3 ton sea monster.
Only been swimming with sharks once and it was off the Great Barrier Reef when I lived in Australia back in the late '90s. They are totally the doggos of the sea though from my experience. The pee thing is a myth (mostly based from the show Friends) but the thought was vinegar or ammonia helps. Actually makes it worse. The best thing to do is actually wash it off with sea water lol. Been stung many times by jellies when snorkeling.
I stopped going into the water at the beach when I learned that horseshoe crabs could impale your foot with its tail if you happen to step on one, and the beach I used to go to were full of them.
Hello 😁 Just saw this video too, love casual geographic. Sharks are obviously intimidating creatures, but ive always thought all of them ( including the more menacing ones) were kinda dopey looking when they're just swimming around. I thinking orcas are much scarier.
A song I suggest is "fear" by Sia. This Is the first song of her first official solo album "Healing Is difficult" and i tought of this because She talks about fears, and hers Is of sharks. I Hope you like It and forgive me if I failed some Word, am not english.
They do say vinegar is very effective against jellyfish stings. Back in the '80s in England, while I was on a lilo I was passed by a huge harmless Basking Shark. It was beautiful, but jaws, after the fact, soon sprang to mind
I briefly forgot to do the shuffle at a beach in Mexico once. I was about waist-deep in the water, and my foot came down on a flat slippery surface that started to wiggle. My feet were nearly clearing the water’s surface on my way back to dry sand. To this day I still don’t know how I wasn’t stung. Based on how it felt underfoot, I’m guessing it was no bigger than a dinner plate. The funny thing is that it happened only a couple of minutes after my sister also stepped on one without getting stung.
You can find them together easier with saltwater crocs near the ocean. But you can also find a Bull shark running into a Croc in just about any fresh water where crocodilians live. Bull sharks can breath Fresh and salt water
Worstershire sauce, bring a bottle of it with u to the beach playgirl! 4 the jelly fish stings, use 2 surf. Beautiful, southern belle showed me. I bout died laughing when she busted it out @ the beach. Legit works tho!
Bull sharks and crocs/gators can cross paths anywhere that the reptiles can inhabit. Florida, Louisiana, southest asia, africa, etc. Since bull sharks can swim in both salt and fresh water, any river directly connected to the ocean would be fair game.
Gotta love this guy's use of language. I agree with you. The stats on getting killed by a shark are misleading. How about "What are the chances of getting eaten by a shark if you're swimming in the ocean?" Still likely to be very low, but at least it's corrected for the media in which you're currently moving. 😁
In Croatia we had the same myth about pee and jellyfish, probably to this day. I have been stung once as a kid, pee on myself, didnt help. Later I just had like a blood tattoo on my leg from the jellyfish, like a scar. That was cool in my head, the girls were impressed.
Growing up is finding out that sharks were the good guys the whole time and Jaws is just horrible propaganda 😂 the reverse is true for dolphins, apparently. However, I will be more vigilant towards trucks from now on. And jellyfish. ETA: Ah, the writer believes that too. That's cool. Would you get a pet shark if you could? And I recommend... Your assumption was correct, nearly all Australian coastal river inlets and brackish waters have decent bullshark populations, and almost the entire northern third of the continent's coastline is saltwater crocodile territory, lots of overlap.
THe guy who made the movie Sharkwater tried to get really close to great white sharks without the safety of a shark cage, and found out that it was a lot harder than he had anticipated. As said in this clip, sharks sense your heart rate, and by that, your emotions. If you're not calm and relaxed, they will sense your anxiety from far away and decide that they want nothing to do with that negative energy you're spreading around you and they will avoid you!
LOL when that spider jumped! That quick flash of anger LOL! Somebody was getting it. Nobody was there... LOL I take it you don't play around spiders. I get it, I don't either.

Hes a very down to earth person (pardon the pun) I would highly reccomend both authors books as a possibility for a read if you want to just get away from everything.
I've done 4 different ferry journeys today in my city and I don't want anything to do with the sea. It can remain a mystery. We have large sharks at the National Marine Aquarium here and they are generally serene.

8:37 It’s a well known 50 years old Orca female that rammed a Great White Shark. Apparently the biggest fear for a Great White are Orcas. They kill the sharks and eat the liver.
