Hello everyone! I’m editing a couple more reactions and will try to push them out next week! I’ll be away from home starting this weekend and won’t be back until the second week of March! I hope you enjoy this reaction, and thank you so so much for being here!🔥🤘❤️
ALSO, WE’VE GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE THERES IMPERSONATORS OF ME! IF THEIR NAME SAYS ANYTHING WITH “TELEGRAM, WHATSAPP” or ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION! I ONLY COMMUNICATE THROUGH UA-cam COMMENTS!
Yes, that’s a common theme as you’ve put some years behind you. My favorite Dylan tune has changed probably 20 times, as has my favorite Grateful Dead song and my favorite Led Zeppelin song and my favorite Beatles song and my favorite Pink Floyd song…………
There's an unceasing wind that blows through this night There's dust in My eyes, that blinds My sight There's a silence that speaks so much louder than words.. Of promises broken.........................................
You can't go wrong with the Pulse show and I'll be here for the Floyd all day long. Gilmore will always be the GOAT for me but if you fancy a brief temporary detour from the Pink Floyd rabbit hole, another all-time guitar legend worth checking out is Mark Knopfler, lead singer and guitarist with the band Dire Straits. He has a totally different style of playing(finger picking). Sultans of Swing:Alchemy live is an amazing performance and well worth a reaction. All the best from Yorkshire, UK.
From the same Pulse Concert, check out RUN LIKE HELL (watch the end credits as David Gilmour speaks briefly twice to the audience as the entire band greets the audience) and also check out the song LEARNING TO FLY.
The way Sir David Gilmour bends these notes is truly amazing, the way he uses reverb and distortion and feedback in this song really brings me to tears. Spectacular concert, I think the best imo! 👍
... Dude, you are so good. It's wonderful to share this music with you, your reactions are incredible. Thank you for sharing this with us all. More, More, More, Pink Floyd, I can't wait... Peace - Out...
lol you can expect your favourite to change regularly back and forth depending on your mood. To most PF fans introducing someone to PF is a satisfying feeling.
Change Your Life is what this Pulse video will do. It changed mine back in 1995 when i saw it broadcast on the BBC. I was serving overseas so I couldnt get to the gig, but man, watching this on BBC did totally and utterly and permanently change my life.
Had the pleasure of seeing this tour in an American football stadium, and those opening bass notes SHOOK the structure of the stadium. This was a MIND-BLOWING concert.
PF opened The Second British Rock Gathering, 1972, 100k+ fans, with One of These Days! 50,000 watts of power, 36 inch steel-cone speakers and fireworks! It was electric....😊
This song leaves most people speechless the first time they hear it. One of the best post Waters songs. A different song with a great Gilmour surprise is pulse live KEEP TALKING.
This is my favorite performance from this concert. I thought that might be just because I've seen Comfortably Numb so many times but your reaction validates my opinion! Honestly, you can't go wrong with any number from Pulse; it's my second favorite recorded concert I've ever seen.
Run Like Hell Great Gig in the Sky Comfortably Numb Time On The Turning Away …all on the Pulse concert. On The Turning Away …Delicate Sound of Thunder concert. 😅
Two things. With Progressive Rock, Prog Rock, it was all about soundscapes and experimental music, but also the album was the artform. *Pink Floyd* was always known as a studio band, because they crafted their albums carefully to produce a fully cohesive piece. *The Wall* (1979) is written as a full rock opera, which they later turned into a movie. *Dark Side of the Moon* (1973) is a very tight album, speaking to the cycle of human life, and is easily one of the top albums of all time. *Wish You Were Here* is a cycle about navigating the music industry as a young artist. "Pink" is the nominal artist that the albums are told from the perspective of. They played concerts more as tributes to their albums, than to riff on their work, and they were famous for touring very little. The tour for *The Wall* had only ten concerts across Europe, I believe, and because their vision was so elaborate, as a full stage play for the opera, plus full special effects, they lost money on every concert -- they had expected it to lose money, but did it anyway. They made the movie as a way to create that stage experience for more people. Their concert to a vacant audience at the amphitheater in the ruins of Pompeii, Italy is a wonder of audacity, with them playing music from their *Echoes* album, naked to the judgement of Eternity. But the album is the artform. Secondly, as captivated as you are by the mood and soundscape, I think you would really like Steely Dan as well. To make it easy, try anything off of their album *Aja* (1977).
As Greg Phillinganes ( Micheal Jackson music director) said after seeing this concert that "they are on a different level" . maybe why they are # 2 selling around the world and this experience was their last. After 14 days in a row sold out at Earl's Court. Disco ball in " Comfortably Numb" ***** is a FU to music critics who said they would never make it because they don't play dance music.
Actually, the disco ball has always been PF’s FU to a particular British music critic, all the way back in the late 60’s, who wrote that their music would never amount to anything, “kids can’t dance to it”. Floyd replied by adding a disco ball, and stating that it was “for anyone who cared to dance”. 😝🖕😎
Pink Floyd influenced a whole generation of kids. We still carry their messages and what each solo spoke to us. Like i never, " turn away," i refuse," indoctrination, " " another brick in the wall," " im not so afraid, " of the great gig in the sky." Get it?
There is another epic video concert from Pink Floyd, titled "The delicate sound of thunder", which is from the tour of the album "A momentary lapse of reason". You could listen to something from there too, I suggest "Money" (the uncut version with the Guy Pratt's bass solo), "Learning To Fly" and "On The Turning Away". I reaaaally think you would enjoy them very much!
I strongly recommend you listen to the Chambers Brothers "Time Has Come Today". The song was recorded in 1967 and is one of the most underrated psychedelic songs of the era.
Pink Floyd have been around for a long while. The early years with Syd Barret Humour & Psychedelia on a budget! Then Roger Waters with David in the mix; creativity unleashed. Concluding with David and stadium rock!! Go on the journey you will not regret it.
My brother (we are all Pink Floyd brothers and sisters on UA-cam lol), I have loved your PF reactions and look forward to your new ones. This one was great! It is time that you tried Echoes: Live at Pompeii. There are two parts, part 1 and part 2. Many reactors do them both in one video, but they're about 26 minutes in total, so your choice if you make one or two videos. The important thing is that you listen to both parts. It will stay with you for the rest of your life. Pure brilliance. As background (keeping it short here), Pink Floyd flew to Pompeii, Italy and performed these tunes as part of a movie that played in theaters so their fans could see them play live without attending a concert. No internet or MTV music videos back in the early 70's, and PF wanted to connect with their fans. They have never been about the spotlight, only the music, so many fans had never seen them before they recorded this. Pure brilliance, pure bliss. You'll love them. God bless.
Please react to "On The Turning Away" from the concert "Delicate Sound of Thunder", 1987. The solo is my favorite just as much as the one from Comfortably Numb.
David normally struggles with lyrics, but he wrote and composed this song in one weekend and my goodness, what a gem. I once had this song, this performance, locked in my head as an earworm on endless repeat for two solid weeks. I tried everything but just had to wait for it to quit on its own. I didn't mind too much, it's Sorrow after all, but it got kind of ridiculous, never had one stick that long.
I don't know if I'd agree that he struggles, per se, (most of his finished work is fantastic), but I do agree that it doesn't come to him the way it does Roger. And I'm firmly in camp David as far as the Division (Bell) goes.
@@ianfortier6796Well, really just parroting him as he has said that writing lyrics is more difficult for him than composing. That's probably the major difference between Dave and Roger musically, Dave is a composer, Roger is a writer. Many of his lyrics post-Waters are either shared credit or credited to others (chiefly Polly, which I don't have a problem with, as she is a writer and a good one - go with your strengths). I agree though, I love all his stuff, and I would travel far and pay much to see him again (losing hope these days, but still holding a flickering little flame). Saw him last in Chicago for his Rattle That Lock tour - fantastic show.
A little more info for you as for this performance at Pulse and some of the others performances, The Ladies singing the back up are from left to right Sam Brown, Claudia Fontaine, Durga McBroom . Can't beat Floyd in my opinion BUT then again I have been listening to them over 50 yrs ! lol Thanks again!
You gotta do Echoes Live At Pompeii from early 1970's. Its a long song, many chapters, it will leave you amazed and may be even confused at one stage. Its a brilliant song, David Gilmour is incredible in it.
My favorite Pink Floyd song is whichever is playing at that moment 😅. May I suggest from the same concert, "on the run." In the concert they will have a plane fly across the stadium right over everyone's head and crash into an explosion right next to people at the end of the instrumental.
Enjoying your Pink Floyd reactions, glad to see you checking out the Pulse concert, as you said the visuals with the music is awesome, I believe Sorrow is better here live than the album version, if you check out "keep talking" in this concert, you can see Mr Gilmore make the lap steel guitar sing, with Mr Pratt doing the same on bass as well, the entire concert is a Master Piece as well as All of their music that will be enjoyed by many to the end of time, I Hope you have a joyful time while away and looking forward to your safe return, God Bless.
This also my favourate track from Pink Floyd, but the version i like to listen to is ,Dave Gilmour live in Pompeii 2016, you godda check it mate,, best wishes 👍👍
Hey bro, really enjoying your videos, I have a feeling that if you keep it real and as honest as you've been you will get some great numbers! Anyway, there are a few bands that I think you will truly appreciate as much as Zeppelin and Floyd and they are Rush and Rammstein.....friggin king makers those two. Tom Sawyer from Rush (studio) and Du Hast live in Paris. And if you like pure live performances check out Triumph at the US Festival. Pronounced us, not U.S. Rock on my man.
Enjoying your Pink Floyd reactions. I have ONE gripe though. Please don't listen to PF with earbuds! Get headphones! Doesn't have to be anything ridiculously expensive, just not the cheapest you can find. You WILL notice the improvement. The whole earbud-generation is missing out on a better sound! Keep it up.
You are really enjoying the Pink Floyd rabbit hole, I see. And they are one of the greatest bands in the World. However, if you want to try some different flavours but still of high quality, here are some suggestions for English rock bands that I don't think will be blocked: Deep Purple: Child in Time; Supertramp: Breakfast in America; Genesis: Firth of Fifth; Queen: We Are The Champions; Rolling Stones: Gimme Shelter.
@KillBimu I enjoy your reactions to Floyd and I did see a genuine SEG on your face during this video. Other songs you should listen to are One of These Days, Keep Talking, and Time. The lyrics from Time makes more sense as you grow older.
Great review, if you want to hear some more great guitar playing by David Gilmour check out his album Rattle that Lock and the songs, 5 AM / And Then. 😊
My friend, if you are loving the extended solos that Gilmour does live, then you must listen to “on the Turning Away” from Pulse! David’s solo will blow you away!
Check out Echoes Live at Pompeii full version. It’s about 20 minutes and it will blow you away! If you love Pink Floyd check out Brit Floyd. They are touring this year and deliver the Pink Floyd experience to you live. They’re all over UA-cam check them out.
Another one of my favourites but not quite up there with Comfortably Numb for guitar work. Can't remember, have you done On The Turning Away from the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert?
Thanks for the Floyd reaction. Id like to request Wilco,"Yankee Hotel Foxtrot " nobody has done a reaction to them yet. They have a soft sound like Floyd but not as great of course. All songs on that album are good listens. Please and thanks
I remember trying to force my friends to listen to this they were all so brainwashed on rap they missed true talent. If you got 5k watts and subs you can come close to what this really should sounds/feel like.

Got one this morning (reported it) 👍
Love your appreciation of genius , I was lucky to be there ❤
If I were stuck on an island for the rest of my life, and I had only one choice of band to listen to, it would be Pink Floyd, 100%
This is the only correct answer.
Believe we are on the same boat.
I am stuck on a island…it’s called England…and I’m listening to Pink Floyd
The best answer is PF catalog, but what if it includes David and Rogers solo stuff, even better.
What to recommend with Pink Floyd ………… absolutely everything !!
best band of all times . 😎👍🎶🎶
Agree
It’s not debatable. Pink Floyd is the GOAT.
The very best Pink Floyd of all time is the one you are listening to right now. All their music is the best.
You will probably find that nearly every first time hearing a PF song, will be your new favorite. My personal favorites have changed many times.
Very true
Yes, that’s a common theme as you’ve put some years behind you. My favorite Dylan tune has changed probably 20 times, as has my favorite Grateful Dead song and my favorite Led Zeppelin song and my favorite Beatles song and my favorite Pink Floyd song…………
I agree whole-heartedly. But that said, “Comfortably Numb” always floats near the top.
He doesn't plug his guitar into an amp, he plugs it directly into my soul.
Let’s raise a glass to Sir Richard Wright’s brilliant atmospheric keyboards that laid the foundation under this entire song
There's an unceasing wind that blows through this night
There's dust in My eyes, that blinds My sight
There's a silence that speaks so much louder than words..
Of promises broken.........................................
Gilmour is the master. Not one sound came off that stage that he didn't make happen... To perfection.
After listening to Floyd, I’m always left in a better place.
All the best from Yorkshire, UK.

David Gilmour, the Maestro at work. It's actually very difficult to control the feedback like he does, but he makes it look easy
it maybe the most iconic intro to any song.
a drummer, a percussionist.
I sit and watch this song over and over once or twice a week.
Try “Hey you “ next. You’ll not be disappointed. Studio version. My favourite track of all time.
Love your reactions.
🔜🔜🔜ONE OF THESE DAYS by live PULSE it's GOLD!😘
Had the pleasure of seeing this tour in an American football stadium, and those opening bass notes SHOOK the structure of the stadium. This was a MIND-BLOWING concert.
Pink Floyd invented the light show brother, light makers back in the day thought, right, what would Floyd need 😆😆👍🏼🏴
This one defies description, I love it so much. I love your kitty, too. 😻
One of These Days from the same Pulse concert is pretty great, too.
PF opened The Second British Rock Gathering, 1972, 100k+ fans, with One of These Days! 50,000 watts of power, 36 inch steel-cone speakers and fireworks! It was electric....😊
Every Pink Floyd song is a roller coaster of emotions.
This song leaves most people speechless the first time they hear it. One of the best post Waters songs. A different song with a great Gilmour surprise is pulse live KEEP TALKING.
YES! I was going to recommend the same song for the same reason.
The best guitar solo of Gilmour is always the last one we listened.
There are so many best solo of David!
This is my favorite performance from this concert. I thought that might be just because I've seen Comfortably Numb so many times but your reaction validates my opinion! Honestly, you can't go wrong with any number from Pulse; it's my second favorite recorded concert I've ever seen.
Gilmour said sorrow was one of his favourite songs to play live, I agree, fantastic song.
As mentioned already, the song Run Like Hell, same concert. It is the last song of the concert.
such an underrated song...I have seen Pulse and Delicate Sound of Thunder concerts LIVE 3 times. this song always stood out.
Those longgggg licks on the axe at the begining and end by Gilmour are gold bro 💯%🤘👌🤙👍

Great reaction! Where are the headphones??? Echoes (last performance with Richard Wright), then do “live at Pompeii” you won’t be disappointed!
When people went to a Pink Floyd gig, they didn't just see just any old gig, they journeyed to a different dimension in space and time.
Echoes Live at Pompeii, Floyd in there youth. Been into them since 1967…..a lifetime, and still listen to them most days 👍

Was great concert to see live. Had 10 th row seats and were really impressed by backing singers.
