An Allen wrench set can usually be pared down to include just the sizes you might use. A quality, larger, multi-tip screwdriver is necessary. A Vice-Grip with wire cutter is a handy tool. As is some version of a water-pump style pliers. Knipex Cobras and plier wrenches are serve many functions. A headlamp will free both hands to work.
The little credit card shaped multitool is incredible. I'd always thought they were a bit of a novelty till my gf got me one a few years back. I use it at least once a week. The sharp edge is brilliant for cutting straps or tape when I've forgot my knife and the bottle opener is a massive plus
You have two full sets of torx and hex and not even one kind of pliers. In red bit box you have all the torx and hex bits. Throw the full sets of hex and bits and put one nice quality knipex pliers.
Re the Allen set, just get a set of 50mm or 75mm Allen/ hex 1/4" bits...Replace the bit screwdriver and stubby bit screwdriver with a Vessel ratchet bit driver that does both of those functions. If you get a pen style compact multimeter, it has a non contact voltage detector built in. Wiha do a couple different styles of Vde screwdriver where the spare shafts stored in the handle. Re the Zippo, unless you use it a lot, it dries out and /or makes the kit smell of petrol. Also, not sure if lighter fuel will do the foam any good if the lighter leaks? A gas lighter with a short neck can be better used to light pilot lights ect. I am fairly sure you can now get flip/combination sockets which means you can cover a wider range of sizes for the same foot print....
You say you will put some of the links in the description. I didn’t find any links just this list without links: “Allen Keys, Milwaukee Utility Knifes, Zippo Lighters, Knipex Utility Keys and Grips, Fluke Volt Sticks, Nebo Big Larry Magnetic Torches, Wera Joker Spanners and more” I would have like a full list with links. Some even seem to be no longer available. It’s still a great kit.
Hi there, I used to have links but majority of them stopped working eventually as the video aged! I’m currently working on an updated compact tool kit video with fresh links so subscribe to not miss out!
Some good tools. Good video. The ToolCheck comes with a mini ratchet so you i’d suggest you don’t need a separate 1/4 inch. The ToolCheck also has a bit adapter so you don’t need the stubby driver. The Knipex pliers wrench could likely replace the massive Stanley shifting spanner, so if you don’t need the pry or hammer feature, you could exclude it a and save a lot of weight.
I agree with most of the tools for any application and understand the personal application of most of the rest of the tools and i will admit it looks fantastic and super professional but the tool redundancy specifically on the wrenches side makes my brain hurt at the beginning the goal was to get rid of the adjustable wrench but then you added 2 more different ones and if that didnt cover your bases enough alone you also added individual full sized wrenches and if that wasnt enough you added a knipex plier wrench ... the Knipex plier wrench alone was designed to take the place of all of the rest of the wrenches you added in... you could effectively ditch the adjustables and the regular wrenches keep the plier wrench add a set of Knipex cobras to cover your plier bases and get a demolition prybar hammer that dosent have an adjustable built in and youd have more bases cover and also save more space on top of it ... if you didnt need the insulation for the other set of knipex pliers you could have ditched them too cause the cobolts cobras and plier wrech covers pretty much all plier needs i hope there is a better reasoning that makes it a viable option for you to keep em all but i also really dont understand the need for 5 different 1/4 inch bit drivers you could probably dich most of those for more of the insulated inserts for the wera driver and keep the micro bit driver because it makes since for your application im not trying to hate by any means im more so trying to get you thinking to potentially help you improve and also try and see your thought process
My coment was written in 7:30 of your video. Now i watch the video to the end and i see you did what was my idea and what i said in a first coment. Nice job.
That was interesting. I have one of those knipex adjustable nut gripping tools and I reckon it might be possible and worthwhile to take the time to make a couple of removable jaws, one curved and the other possibly with a V shape, both for gripping pipe. You could glue emery paper to them to increase the gripping ability.
Most inspiring! I have a tool bag similar to the one modeled above. The shadow foam has arrived at my home but noticed I did not have the cutting instrument. That's next. Keep pressing forward. Semper Fi
Great lengthy in detail video. Wera tools are such great products but I feel you have to pick and choose what tools you choose of theirs that you use the most as you can become indoctrinated by the wuality and go bankrupt. You buy a spann6rr set in say 6 to 17mm when you use 10 and 13 day in day out and could buy the rest in silverline and save £50. Just an example but relates to their catalogue and tradesmans habits as a whole. Great series keep em coming, thumbs up.
Would you guys make a video using 50mil foam in layers in a shallow t stak box? I just want to see how it would work cause I’m planning on doing it for some less used tools (mobile toolbox setup) and just wanna see if it would work, thanks guys love the vids
How did you get on with the case for that screwdriver bit set? The plastic at the bottom of my metal case 'dissolved' after a small amount of light use :0) The concept was good though!
I'm curious how much of this you will remove. It's been a year since the last one, I might guess the wrench pliers from knipex replaces a lot of the extras. Same with the wera rachet set.
I would have used the Wera 8008 A mini ratchet, it's exactly the same size as the 8001 that you took out of the tool check plus, i.e. about half the size of that one you chose.
@@ShadowFoam Sort of warm but nice and sunny. That's about to change tomorrow with another drop in temps with rain off and on for next week. How are things on the other side of the pond?
Also look into Olight flashlights. They have some tiny lights that have the most lumen most with super strong magnetic base which also doubles for the magnetic charging. Even their tiny keychain lights are super bright if you want to go super tiny. I’d recommend looking into an s1r baton 2 or s2r baton 2
The wera bitcheck system has that tiny bit driver ratchet and it also has an adapter to use the 1/4 sockets as well so you don’t really need the added 1/4 ratchet
More or less a full set of wera tools is overkill. The Wera tool check plus in combination with the Knipex parallel pliers should do 95% of the work. And for eveything else, get the big tool case. So the emergency kit grew into a service or maintainance kit.
This video hurts my head... Overhead shots need to be viewer POV. I would suggest rotating the frame in future videos. We are looking at everything upside down.

Looks very compact. Did you say you’d post a link to the tools..? I can’t see it for looking...!

Really nice video presentation especially the culling out aspect. Your case fit and finish is exceptional. Great job.
Glad you liked it Jim, we are planning on updating that case very soon, so subscribe to not miss out!
Love the tool overview - gave me some ideas of things I need to pick up.

Great minds think alike Milan 👏
Wow!! It's impressive how many tools you managed fit in such a small space. Love Shadow Foam, keep up the good work...
If it didn’t have the foam.. it could fit 5 times as many tools
@@FlockingtheherdI was thinking similar

instead of Zippo you can put 3-4 Bic Mini lighters, which are very reliable, very light and will work for your for much longer time.
Thanks for the tip! I'll keep it in mind for my next case! 👌

Great form factor 👍
Thanks Rich 👍
I really like that kit very compact yet Versatile don’t know if it SAE or Metric but still all in all great
Cheers mate!
Hi, good tool kit can you tell me where you got the demolition prybar please

We might just be doing something like that... 😎 www.shadowfoam.com/inserts/

Didn't have any issues with mine, sorry to hear about yours!

Haven't removed anything yet, althouh contemplating updating this video as I have bought a whole new ruck of tools since 😅

Good reccomendation mate! Shall keep it in mind!
Link to how to cut foam insert be great
We've got a video all about it: ua-cam.com/video/1vJRvgKh9sU/v-deo.html
This is a change from just the minimum to much more than the minimum.
If it fits in, lets get it in! 😂
This was cool!!!
Cheers! How's Toronto?

Its been sweltering today, but yeah a cold front coming in hopefully to cool things back down 👍
Are these still amazon boxes or new box suppliers?
We got the case from Amazon but it looks like it's no available anymore!
I can’t for the life of me find the crescent Allen key set, any ideas where you got it?
Got it from amazon a long time ago!
Doesn't appear to be available anymore.@@ShadowFoam
@@viktorkoltun6862 that’s a shame, good Allen key that
You should get the Milwaukee fastback with the foldout but driver and there is your razor and bit driver together
Also some leathermans can accept an extension bit driver which comes standard or ratcheting.
And we’ll keep going as the video goes lol knipex pliers wrench is superior to the adjustable wrenches you are use to.
The wera bitcheck system has that tiny bit driver ratchet and it also has an adapter to use the 1/4 sockets as well so you don’t really need the added 1/4 ratchet
Definitely looking into getting a Milkwaukee Fastback for a future video! Stay Tuned!
I'm surprised you didn't include a ruler/straight edge, and for a pen/marker/writing instrument.
Can always throw one in tool kit v2!
whats the name of that crescent allen key holder? i cant find it
I haven't found them either
Can you supply a link to your new case thanks
It doesn't seem to be available anymore, but this is a case from the same brand, however, much smaller: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072KDJVLR/
Did you have a link to that case?
It looks like they don't have this case available anymore, but this is the closest I can find (but it's much smaller!) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072KDJVLR/
@@ShadowFoam What was the size of the new one you got?, (in metric please :) )

There are a few from different brand, here is an Amazon link: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07ZK8GK75/

What about a pencil, in case both pens fail.
Great idea Craig!
What if MacGyver had one of these…….
What if MacGruber had one too?
Multi bit screwdriver, actual wrenches, socket set. Leave out the gimmicky crap.
A push drill
Shadow foam takes up far too much space in a toolbox.
Not if you dial in the layout

Thanks for the tips!
Short answer no it’s not.
What tool kit would you say is the most efficient?
