Just found this channel, loved the two "Toolkit challenge" videos. The seller seemed like they would rather their stuff sit on the shelf for another 5+ years instead of knocking a few quid off for a bulk sale. Hope they enjoy their prices getting devalued through inflation, all while they are paying their monthly cabinet rental. Mad!
Old tools like this remind me so much of when I was growing up and I used to get all these kinds of tools for my own use as that’s all I could afford growing up and now they still adorn my boxes and are used frequently- still the best tools made. And my daily driver tape measure is an old steel 6’ Lufkin Rule Co. One that my Great, Great Uncle had and it works better then most new ones do still. Great video and I hope your able to find a Robertson screw driver set while you in the US even though there mostly Canadian. Take care
@@ShadowFoamafter finishing this I would say that 50 at a flea market or yard sale would be tough! Also, that finished kit looks very sharp! A US Trip! I can’t wait to see that. I am up In Vermont thought I doubt you will be around this way lol.

Nice to see someone use a Gerber knife! Is that the Armbar? I love these videos. Would be very interested in a First Time Home Owner kit. Budget of say £250-£500 with all the absolute essentials for someone who has just moved into their own home. Especially if you mention tools that people DON’T need too! Love the videos! Cheers mate!
Great video, and I’m totally with you on vintage tools, having inherited a few over the years. What impressed me most, and while you didn’t have one in your tool kit, was a engineers adjustable square. I have one that’s about 5 years old, and one that’s over 50 years old and they are identical!
@@ShadowFoam the British wooden screwdrivers and that ratchet screwdriver, remember my grandfather using a ginormous red handled one ( or it looked ginormous when I was a child 😂).. I had a few of those of my grandfather's tools , but they got stolen a few years ago with a few other old bits in a old caltilver toolbox, I've still got a set of the bull nose pliers. Just prefer the older tools, the feel like they would last years
I don't care if you get confirmation those pliers were originally nut crackers. They serve a new purpose now! That adjustable was key and it's color is awesome next to the saw. I love a flat pack full of wrenches as much as anyone but here in Canada I run into almost 50/50 metric/imperial. For a travel kit you can't carry around two full sets of wrenches.@@ShadowFoam
Really cool looking tool box! It’s like watching someone do a jigsaw without knowing what the end product should look like, but knowing it’s still right 😂
Market stalls are often a good source for rusty old tools that can be restored to use. Got several gouges and chisels there, as well as a lovely old Stanley combination plough plane (the hand tool used before powered routers were common)
Great video. Think the high street set is more practical but love the handsaw you found. Maybe try a car boot and see what you could get for £100-£150, I think that could be a great video depending on what you can find.
Great video, much prefer the look of the vintage tools but for practically would definitely pick the modern version. As beautiful as flat head screwdrivers are, there's not that much use for them. Would have been cool if you could have included the old drill. Maybe you should make another one of these antique/vintage tool kits with an unlimited budget and then you could get the nicest looking stuff for a really beautiful vintage toolkit. Love the videos and look forward to more content that's coming. Keep up the good work
