- Hello everyone and welcome back to the video!
Today me and @SouthCoastDangler fished down Brighton Beach in hopes of a Plaice!
It was a long old session spanning from 12 noon til 8pm where we fished the tide up and then down.
High Tide was at 2:30pm so we had a good 2 hours of fishing the tide up.
During the tide coming up we had no bites at all but when the ebb of the tide happened I got into my first plaice of the year and what a stunner at 40cm long!
After this I had a few rattles during the day but in the end I only managed 1 Plaice.
During the evening we tried the same sort of tactics and Dan managed to catch a Flounder before sun down and then a Dab when dark.
Unfortunately I only had whiting in the evening!
I’m really happy we had this session and I was and am genuinely over the moon that I caught such a great plaice!

@@FishingwithMattUK no worries! What was the wind direction when you went? I’m looking at going Monday but it’s a 8kt SW so not sure if that’ll make the water too coloured
@oli_t_sea_angling i can’t actually remember the direction but it may have been from behind and it was only 4kts. The water still had lots of colour in it to be fair so you may have a decent chance then. I can’t be certain you’ll catch though 😅

Hi matt an easy method of weighing small fish is to use a plastic bag, save you getting negative comments
You are 100% correct mate and I appreciate the comment! Obviously weighing the fish in the gill can go wrong so I will try my best to not do that.

I thought plaice was march.
There have been a few that have come in early with the nice weather over the past few days! They’re few and far between & I got lucky!
