Thank you for doing this, the handyman in our complex told me I should get a new dryer but something told me to UA-cam my problem and this was it. Dryer works perfectly!! Thank you so much
Great video, you should disconnect the wire after you remove the switch and then connect the new switch before you put it into the drier. That way if you drop it, it has a tether.
Maybe don’t separate the wires first. Do that after you unscrew the switch. A telescoping magnetic tool work for this? I’m about to change out mine on a more ancient Kenmore.
I’m glad that happened, it gave me the opportunity to record how to fish it out if it gets dropped down there. That being said, yes, disconnect the switch last.
Thank you. Same dryer/problem. I needed this video.
Thanks for the video. Non mechanical guy like myself, success with this repair on the door switch.
Exactly what I needed, man. Thanks. Fixed my kenmore in 15 minutes with a $10 part. I taped the wire first so that it doesnt drop in the dryer.
What’s the part number?

Thanks. This is the exact problem I was having and very much appreciate your tutorial on replacing the switch.
That's how I roll. 5 minute job takes an hour.

Did you change the switch yourself or did the handyman do it?
@@416diy did it myself 👍🏽
Glad to hear it!

My favorite part was when you used the grabby.
But seriously thanks, I changing mine today
easy!! I got it!
I dropped a putty knife down the left side. Can it just stay there? Dryer works fine......
If you have a telescoping magnet, you could pull it back up.
