    Simply looking up "Kenmore Dryer will not start" . I am glad I continued searching, this explains why the back of this model Kenmore dryer wont come off like in most of the other DIY videos I found. THANK YOU! This is exactly what I needed

    Thank you so much. Not sure how many Kenmore dryer videos I watched before finding this one that explained how to get in through the front of the dryer. By the way, you must remove the lint screen before you can get the grey metal piece off.

      Yep, most videos says it is located at the back of the dryer...I guess it depends on the manufactured date of the machine. Models like the Kenmore Model #110.62062100, the fuse is in the front lower panel as this video shows and fuse is a different shape.

    C Ron. I know this is 8 years ago to you but it's like a few minutes ago to me. I had all the screws out of the back where the thermal resistor always USED to be. That of course got me exactly zip. So I ran in here and found your monstrous massive super dooper life saving tutorial. Went exactly according to your instructions. If you were handy I'd pop for a donut or a beer. You did GREAT! Better than a factory service manual. Many many thanks!

    I've got a few fuses (and a multimeter) on order, and your video helped me get everything apart and locate the fuse super easily.
    Pray for me that it's actually the fuse and not the heater element or something else more expensive! I've got too many kids to have a dryer out of commission!

    Thanks so much. Worked for me as well. Our dryer is probably 20 years old. We inherited it from the last owners of our house. After opening it and cleaning the lint, I don't think it had ever been cleaned. So glad there is a fuse that will blow instead of starting a fire.

      LOL same thing here, previous owners warned us the dryer was on its last legs. Wife said it took 7 hours to dry a light load, I figured the gas wasn't lighting. These instructions were the first I found for a front entry (most tell you to remove the back or to pull out the heater element).

    The thermal fuse is just $12. This was an easy-to-moderate, and cheap homeowner repair. I used a metal putty knife to release the clips. And a 1/4in ratchet bit. My helper was an ice cold Sunkist Orange soda.

    Awesome video, very helpful! But,
    I am having a hard time lifting the cover off of the blower wheel which you did not show how you did. I'm assuming that's because it's difficult.🤔 If you could add that in there that would be great. Or just maybe tell me how you lifted up left right whatever to get it out of the dryer frame. I would greatly appreciate it! 🙃🤗👍

    Great video thank you for taking the time. Quick question.. my daughter just moved into a apartment about a week ago in a row home it has a dryer she says it runs but does not get hot and is a Kenmore 70 series Electric. Have you made a video on how to test any other fuses and whatever that thing is that gets hot that looks like it has coils? She also said something really weird that she started the dryer around 8 p.m. and then went to bed got up the next morning at 7 a.m. in the dryer was still running and apparently did not produce heat because the clothes were still damp. She pulled out the lint trap which she said was full and she emptied it but it did not make a difference when she ran it for another hour

    Hey Ron, Great instructional video. I have a 414.83142201 dryer. We recently moved and I had to put in a new 240 circuit to a shed where the dryer is now located. Got good 240v check on the new circuit, but the machine won't start. The drum light comes on when you open the door, so I know it's getting some power. But, when you set the timer and push the start switch, nothing. You can hear a little hum or click on the motor initially, then nothing. Motor is not frozen. Does the thermal switch allow electric to the light still while cutting out the motor? Or, does it just kill the motor from truning? Or just the heat with the motor turning (tumbling). Again, door light comes on, but the motor (drum) doesn't start. Could it be the thermal switch? Thanks

    • @channelron3593
      @channelron3593  4 роки тому

      Wow, Hmm sound like something may have come unhooked inside, unplug the unit and remove cover ware the cord goes into and make sure the dryer cable is connected securely inside, sounds like you are only getting half voltage to the unit?

    • @jimmayors2315
      @jimmayors2315 4 роки тому

      @@channelron3593 Well, it turned out it wasn't the dryer afterall. Everyone was saying if you measure 240v at the plug it must be the dryer. I wasn't convinced it wasn't an amperage issue, but there was no way to measure it. So, after a week or so, I loaded the drying back on the truck and took it to a know working 240v circuit. It ran just fine. Called electrician back and he found some issue with a crossed neutral/ground running back to the service pole (supposedly). When he left, it ran like a champ; wasn't the dryer at all.

    I need your help. I am up here in communist Canada and my Kenmore 90 series dryer is not starting. I first checked the circuit breaker and it’s fine. I noticed the door switch was no longing clicking and just dangling and the light in dryer would not come on when I opened it. So I replaced it. Dryer still would not start. I tested the thermal fuse with multimeter and it was unclear so I replaced it and still the dryer would not start. I tested the start button and it is working. Is it fair to assume the terminal/electrical port is fine bc the light comes in when I open the door so there is power to the dryer? What else could it be? Help 4:06

      you are on the right track. is the belt broke that will keep it from running as well.

      At 1.55 I talk about testing the thermal fuse while it is in the unit for continuity, I think i explained it but I will look further into it, sorry for the confusion.
