Yo maign, I still come back to some of your vids as I consider upgrades to my 21 Trd sport taco. Cannot thank you enough for taking the time to document your work. ✌🏻

I put them on my new Tacoma two months ago. Very easy to do and they work well. I got plain black cuz cheaper and no one really looks under the hood much.

Just finished adding these hood struts to my 2017. Really easy install except for dropping the washer on the right side, which of course slid down under the washer fluid reservoir...#*@&!. I wish the lower mounting bolts were more substantial. Will keep my eye on these for longevity, but really nice to lift the hood with so little effort now! Thanks!
@@ClassyTacos So I saw another video with the bolt on struts where he only mounted one strut to hold it up and said it worked just fine. now you talk how easy it is to work from the front cuz you don't have that rod in the way how about when you need to work on one side. can you remove one of the struts and will the other still handle the weight of the hood so you can work on the opposite side?
@@garydp9760 Thats a freaking great question. I would say yes, during the install I had one strut on and supporting the hood in the open position, with no issues. I will say to be clear with one strut on I would take it easy shutting it and opening it as it will require more effort from you. Once the hood is all the way up/open one strut will hold from what I have seen. Thanks for watching and for a great question.
I would suggest connecting an electric cable (the black side of a jumper cable) from the negative side of the battery to a good chassis ground while installing these so that you don't lose any memory settings in the truck such as radio presets or locking the anti-theft settings in your radio.
@@ClassyTacos I have before on a 1998 Chevy S10. I disconnected the battery and the radio's anti-theft device locked me out of using the radio. The dealer then charges $65 to unlock it.
I’m all for after market upgrades that allow you to use existing components. That being said, if you are afraid to do any level of fabrication, don’t get into “modding” your Tacoma. I just installed a set of QuickLift Plus hood struts that required drilling and rivets. If you take your time and just follow simple instructions, there’s no reason to be intimidated. The end result was an installation that puts the struts in a way better location (from a leverage perspective) than these, and look as if they are OEM factory installed parts.
Comfortable is subjective. I have installed both types, with rivets and non riveted. Both have pros and cons.Don't assume it has anything do to with intimidation, we all think differently. These are just way easier of an install and require less tools. There are more factors at play than just being intimidated. Thanks for watching.
