    I just finished my install 2022 taco. My comments are: install driver's side strout first. The lower ( engine bay) ball stud bolts call for the smaller diameter threaded ended bolt studs. Finally, expect the hood bracket hardware to angel away from the hood line by about an inch. This gives the lowering of the hood a bit of a springy feel at the beginning.

    I bought the ŕedline struts it was my second mod i upgraded for 20 dollars more for stainless ones that i quick push and they go up themselves the scary part was on mine you had to drill holes and use rivits the drilling near the engine bay wasnt bad you just want to check again and again the measurements drilling the bottom of the hood was very scary you only had to go deep enough so the rivit would go in all the way any further and you would come out on the top of your hood so i measured down the depth i did the same on the drill bit then ran electrical tape around the bit to stop it from going any deeper it was pretty straight forward and it feels alot safer working under there with just that stupid rod to hold a couple hundred pounds up.

    🛠 Question of the day: What hood strut brand do you have on your Tacoma⁉

  • @Steak_59
    @Steak_59 Рік тому +3

    I've owned a Toyota truck since 1980 being my first 4 X 4 way before TRD's, or Tacoma's, or Tundra's, and I've used that hood rod on every truck I've owned. I can't for the life of me understand why this isn't coming already installed. I'm on the fence as to the safety of them being after market add ons. I just finished adding a K&N cold air intake, and Pedal Commander on my SR5.

      Hi! Hope you're having a great weekend so far and thanks for watching my video again! I agree this should come standard! Hope they do in the future models! As for safety of this specific one, I'm currently testing it out as I know there are better knows products out there that I might try in the future.
      Question about aftermarket cold air intakes as I want to install one also! How are you liking yours?! Any issue or complaints so far?
      Looking into the pedal commander as well till I get this tuned in the future)!

    • @Steak_59
      @Steak_59 Рік тому +1

      @@themandiyrin Thank you again for such an in-depth informative video.
      So far I am liking my K&N choice. I was debating between S&B and K&N and I waited for S&B to come back in stock for 4 months. After the New Year I decided to just go with K&N. The sound this intake produces is amazing, combined that with the Pedal Commander and you have what seems to be a V8 driving your truck. I would prefer to get a totally enclosed system like the S&B and put a K&N filter in it.
      Oh and I forgot to mention I installed my "Raptor Lights" in my grill and they look amazing as well.

      @themandiyrin  Рік тому +1

      @@Steak_59 You're welcome, appreciate your continual support!
      And that's good to hear your thoughts on both, I personally also want an enclosed system but I've heard positive reviews on the K&N as well so that's also an option I'm looking at! Thank you for the info that helps my decision!
      And nice on the Raptor lights! I was able to install mine on the top row but involved some cutting but I agree it looks amazing! Did you go with the white or amber version?

    • @Steak_59
      @Steak_59 Рік тому +1

      @@themandiyrin You are most welcome, believe me I know how much thought is placed in the products and the expense, I cannot imagine what it takes to add to that the production of recording the install and all the editing included with it. This is why my hat is tipped with the quality you continue to put forth.
      As for my lights, you have to keep in mind I am leaving my stock SR5 grill, so I had to custom everything. I chose a smoked amber and wired them to come on with my "Park/Running Lights" my thoughts were I would rather they only be on when I choose, and with that comes I can choose and run them even when parked and my engine not running. The color of the amber matches everything on my trucks OEM lighting.
