Beardbrand is a men’s grooming company that is helping men keep on growing by providing education and tools for urban beardsmen to master their morning routine. We’ve found that confidence starts with self investment, and allows men to do great things for their families, co-workers, and community. We are working to break down the negative stereotypes that surround bearded men, and show the world it’s the man who matters, not the way he looks.

I did no shave November this year and was about to shave it off December 1st, but came across this guy who encourage me to let it grow and to see how much I can get in 3 to 5 months... After about 2 months the thin patchy pubes on my face type look has started to fill out and look more like a beard. Watching Greg progress with the patches that he has has given me confidence that I'll be able to grow a good looking beard if I just let it grow! I'm glad there is hope for us patchy guys, you the man Greg!!!

i've never had a beard. not more than a month anyway. this time, i'm 2 months in. i'm 56 so its grey, but its looking really good. i saw that you said yours grows up one side of your face. mine does too, that's why i never grew it. but it's thick now and i'm going for it. i'll give it another month. i just stumbled on all of this beard care stuff in the past couple of days and it's inspired me.

I started lining up my very first new beard from the beginning. now at the 8 week mark I realize I want the neck line a bit lower so im going to just leave it alone for a while. I know im 4 years late, but. Once again... thanks for the great info. Great video.

Great information - I started trying to groom my beard too early, and was dejected by my initial results, it wasn't until my beard got longer that I had a better understanding of beard grooming
I couldn't remember who I learned about not trimming flyaway hairs from, and I realized it was Greg in a video from a while back
Today's flyaway hair is part of tomorrows great beard

That was my problem before, and now that I understood that we have to resist cutting our flyaway hairs, I have a really good beard. Its pretty hard to resist but as you said very well, its just a part of the sacrifice. Keep it on for 3 month and that will be okay !

Hi Greg, started trimming my cheeks and neck at the third week. I am fortunate to have a thick beard. My beard is the same colour as yours. I am going for a executive length beard. Thank you for your information. I would also say that you are very thoughtful of other people and their journey towards growing their beards.

I'm very sad to say that I've given up on my journey trying to grow a beard for 90 days. I shaved about a week ago (I started November 1st). The mustache and goatee were coming in fairly decent but the sideburns were way too sparse to have a full beard at this point in my life. I wasn't really impressed with my goatee as it doesn't connect yet so I shaved it down to just the mustache as a last resort and ended up looking like a gay biker dude. Oh well...maybe I'll try again in a few years...

And I know another guy in his late 50's who has always done clean-shaven because his facial hair is too little for him to style in any way to be content with. I'm talking pencil-line 'stache, at best.

You're next video is what I need. Look forward to it.
I'm about 8 weeks in and it is a bit unruly at times. I have a medium to curly red beard as you saw on my IG (@officialjaseedwards) the other day.
I do currently use a 1/2" round bristle brush, flat boars hair brush and blow dryer with utility balm. It does the job, for now, but I do have the Tree Ranger styling balm and mustache wax on the way. Should get it after Christmas.
The current technique I follow is Jeff's athletic beard grooming and styling, but his beard in the video is about 3-6 months longer than mine is currently. So I'm hoping your next vid will help.
Great job as always Greg. Cheers.

I have been growing my beard for 11 months now and it has finally grown in thick and lush but still not as thick as i want it on the sides. But that's what I am working with. The less I watch it day by day it gets easier not to want to shave it. I comb it and make it look tidy and neat everyday but I do not examine every hair to see how its growing. If i see imperfections in my beard i want to cut it and say its not growing well so it has to go. Thanks for the videos they keep me motivated not to shave.

I changed my grooming habits about 4-5 years ago, stopped trimming my beard to a month's growth with a beard trimmer, and started styling my beard a bit more old-school. Had to up my grooming kit with the changes - added scissors, a couple of nice combs, boar bristle brush, trying various oils and balms and such.
For training my facial hair, my bristle brush with some styling balm are my best friends.

SHOULD I TRIM?? - I've been growing my beard for about 80days now. It's the first time that I go over the two month mark and I'm impressed by the progress but my cheeks are coming in light compared to my mustache, sideburns and especially my under chin area which is growing ridiculously fast. Most days I wake up not liking the shape of it as it has messed up with the proportions of my face. I think this is mostly because of the heavy under chin. I want to grow my beard more but would you suggest that I trim the under chin a little to match the growth of the rest of my beard or keep growing it naturally and hope that when the cheeks fill in the beard will come together in a nicer way?

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  5 років тому +1

From what you're describing it sounds like the growth under your chin is happening much faster than with the rest of your beard. What you may want to do is go to a barber or stylist who can even things out by trimming down that section to make everything a bit more even. It doesn't have to be completely the same length all around (look into "beard fades" if that sounds interesting), but a good trim never hurts from time to time, especially after the 3 month mark.
      - Jack

wait.... have you been shaving your cheek and neckline?
if so... how do you determine where u shape your cheek line? I always get 2 weeks into my beard and try to shape my cheek line and just screw it all up...

I used to cut my cheek lines chinstrap-style, and let me tell you, it takes a LOT of work to maintain that look.
Now I just let my cheeklines grow as high as they naturally grow, and with enough time of growth my cheeklines become really obvious, and all I trim are the few hairs above that line, and square out the corner where my upper chops meet my stache.
Not that I know Greg's grooming routine or anything, but I would dare to guess his process is pretty similar to mine.
      Hope this helps.

Is it ok to use a heated brush everyday if you choose too? Or would it damage your hair?

No, don't use heat of any type on your hair and beard more than three times a week.

It's called shedding. My beard sheds daily. It's normal, and nothing to worry about.

How come America has not gone metric like the rest of the world? 1 inch is around 25mm (I think!) Nice beard and I never get over a week before I have to shave 🪒🙁 I find it itches and I look scruffy and unkempt 🙁

How to push moustache side ways?? Not trim, but train it to sideways without product.
