I've been doing the Hungarian for a while. Actually, I didn't know what it was or how to do one, until this video, but had experimented with styles and wanted a sort of handlebar style, with a fuller look and less of an "antique car enthusiast" appearance. That brought me to the Hungarian style by accident, but now I know what to call it!
Growing mine out, it's over the top lip and mostly worn with a Hungarian/Walrus hybrid. Great tips! I use seasalt spray and tiny bit of wax to shape.

I have growth an hungarian since January of 2018. And is stills rocking, warlus is almost unconfortable but is the real shape of the mustache when you wake up at morning hahaha. Thanks for your videos Greg!
Without knowing, I think I have inadvertently gone with the Hungarian style. My biggest memory of the walrus mustache is a man in church who sported one. I became friends with his sons.
If you want to do a beardstache-short stubble beard with Hungarian stache, or a chin strap beard with the same stache, what’s the best way to measure trimming the beard around the edges of the mustache line so that you don’t take too much of the stache edges off while you keep the beard short underneath? Or so that each side of the stache stays equal and the curls grow evenly as you keep the beard short?
Nice GB. I now have a name for how I usually do my stache... The Hungarian. It's pretty much my go to since I don't like a full on English Handlebar or a natural walrus. It definitely looks the best on a big beard IMO
Great to see you again Greg. Awesome styling tips. I like your more narrow beard. Looks great. Straws are a must but can I suggest non-disposable stainless steel ones. They’re cheap on amazon and make a big difference to the environment. Peace to you and yours.
Good advice about the straw--Jeff Buoncristiano just mentioned this on his channel. This is a recycled milk shake straw that I have had for a year now.
I personally always sported a Hungarian, as my mustache settles quite nicely by just blow drying it. I don't even apply anything to it, except when making the handlebar curl I use a little bit of wax(I'm a beard oil guy). Straws are helpful but you can't drink beer with straws Greg! So that's why the Walrus is kinda impractical in some ways. Eating stuff without knife and fork, like a hamburger or taco, is nigh impossible too.
I guess I wear the Hungarian the most then the walrus followed by handle bar and imperial. Would like to wear a handle bar more often but can't find a wax ,that I'd put in my stache, with a good enough hold that I have tired yet.
I have always admired your style Greg and your video contributions are always insightful. I like sporting the Hungarian style, and tend to train the hairs in the middle of my lip to either side so I can eat a little easier whilst going for a full stash look. I'm currently growing the stash hair out longer and resisting trimming just above the top lip to experiment with my styling. Hair dryer becomes useful when the stash is walrus worthy.
I go with the Hungarian most of the time, though I can't get mine quite as stylized as that. As soon as I start putting any product in, I completely lose any downward swoop and it wants to go directly to English. I just started trimming above the lip line for the first time at the request of my wife, and the curls can act and look quite a bit differently once you go that route, so I'm back to experimenting again.
I'm 22 and already started to grow a full beard and I1'm also in that hungarian or english mustache... but my mustache is small at the moment... but still growing ;D I just need to try some of your products soon...
Great video! My mustache has grown out enough to begin styling it. I'm having trouble with lots of the separation on one side and no separation (from the beard) on the other side because of my beard's growth pattern. To make this even more challenging, the mustache has grown a lot faster and denser on the side that separates easily and slower and thinner on the side that has no definition. I tried to style a hungarian stache yesterday, but it was uneven. I wonder what I could do to fix it. I thought about cutting the longer side shorter, but I don't like trimming my own facial hair. I tried using more styling balm on the undefined side, and that helped a little. Should I try to hold the mustache out of the way and style the beard to fall straight down instead of toward the jaw like it wants to go? 🧐
Love the styling tips! I usually sport an English style handlebar, but I've been experimenting with the Hungarian lately because of your influence. How do you tackle things like hamburgers and sandwiches with the Hungarian? With my handlebar, all of the hair stays pretty much out of the way, but with the Hungarian, I ALWAYS get food in it and can't seem to get the style to stay at all. Any advice would be appreciated.
I still wear my stache pretty long and thick but I recently went with the regular lip line trim, while keeping the stache long and thick. Eating and drinking we’re bad enough but sometimes I couldn’t even talk without chewing my stache lol. Great video and tips 💈
GRREEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGG....sup? The smoothest man alive is back! They gotsta get u for the Dos Equis commercials. Lol...seriously, tho. Ironically, I've actually tried to let my stache grow upwardly wider, again, recently, but once the extra hairs start growing, it's just not pretty, just like when growing my full beard - ha, and I give up, quick, and shave those extras again. I think I may start it again but then trim my stache and beard down low so the extras won't look as bad and keep it at that level until the extras are on par with the rest of my stache. I'm just concerned about worsening the exposure of my beard patches 😣
I've always kept a short mustache my whole life. Basically since I was 13. Now I'm almost 46, I've grown it out considerably this year for the first time. Its like a Tom Select or Don Fry type of mustache. Here's the funniest thing, all of a sudden I get compliments about my stache almost daily. That's never happened before. I now know what hot women feel like getting complimented all the time. Guys and girls, they all say, "I love your mustache." Go figure.
I want to sport an English or a Hungarian but ultimately I end up with a walrus... both the English & the Hungarian encourage the usage of wax every day which I personally feel is not healthier for the hair... would definitely try your technique though...
There's a problem in India that people are beard-illiterate - meaning people grow their beards out but don't know how to manage it or care for it which is why we don't find so many product options in India for beards... all we find is hair wax as it serves a larger audience... products are available online but their quality is seriously not good seeing all reviews... can't you guys enter the Indian market...
Tried a moustache wax finally... have rocked a Hungarian since a week or so... the only problem is my left side on which I usually sleep on... it takes a lot to tame those idiots in the morning as they sit in the completely opposite direction... the wax doesn't keep it in the same direction all day and the twisting and pulling has at least two hairs plucked out each day. I think everybody might be facing this issue... anyways thanks for the advice... I have received a lot of appreciation since I have sported this look...
I don't know why or what's happened. I've never been particularly hairy. I've always shaved/trimmed daily and had very patchy growth which is why I kept it short/shaven. I'm 41 now and literally over the last 24 months I've developed full growth on cheeks, tache joins my chin and now I have a beard! It's crazy and 25% grey. I'm having fun just having a beard all of a sudden. It seems to have enhanced my identity somehow. I have scars on my upper lip due to cycling accident and my tache now covers them up which is nice.
That's cool about the straw, I use a super straw with my protein shakes. But i usually drink my fluids, mainly water, out of a glass bottle with a mouth piece so my facial hair keeps dry and clean. Cheers Greg
Hey Greg! I've been pretty much growing and styling a Hungarian for a while now, and had been adding in a little of what little beard I had, but it wasn't giving me the right shape. What would you use to style it if your moustache hair was a little more curlier? (Is that even a word?? 😂)
I find that using a considerable amount of wax on the curls and melting it with the hair dryer and letting it cool in shape give me a hold that lasts the majority of my day. With Softener and balm used to keep it hydrated I have issue with just a styling balm keeping its shape and by the time I'm at the office its fallen. Which is fine, but it doesn't fall symmetrically and it can be annoying. Melting Beardbran's wax doesn't leave a shiny, rather matte finish on the stache leaving for an exceptionally natural "I woke up like this" appearance. If you really want a hold that lasts all day or are rocking a large curl, I use a bit of Uppercut Deluxe Monster Hold Pomade in it. (Still waiting for a Beardbrand line of Pomades.) As always, toss your travel kit in your satchel for mid day/post lunch grooming. Would like to see a Beardbrand leather travel bag as well lol.
Wish I had your discipline when eating/drinking Greg! But I do go through a ton of napkins so I'm not a complete slob ;-} Straws R great, I also Stash wax in the morning & part the seven seas before eats! Works great. ERIC B. got me hooked on Walrus stash since my stash grows in pretty thick and long. Jeff B. rocks the best walrus beard stash, a cross between Freddy Mercury & Tom Selleck! He says he didn't like it but I may try one this summer. BEARD ON! KEEP GROWING! :~{ ]>
Greg your beard and mustache look amazing i rock the walrus im trying to find new styles for mustaches this is the first time im letting the stache grow it was annoying but now i’m getting use to using straws
With the walrus, Mahesh cuts an upside down “V” right in the middle of the mustache. I have followed his lead and makes eating so much easier and it is even easier to maintain the look. My beard roughly 10” and the mustache is now below my chin. While it is still a bit difficult to eat, it is manageable. The jury is still out on whether I’ll keep my mustache this long, as my wife is strongly opposed to this expression of my manhood, as she really hates kissing a mouth full of hair. Hhhhhmmmmm, kisses versus no kisses - I’ll have to cut it soon!
Anyone ever seen the Godfather part 1? I think Marlon Brando just had the coolest most badass stache in that movie. & it was far from these Yosemite Sam staches the good people at Beardbrand are obsessed with no offense. I mean they're cool and they look great on Greg for example but some love for the less trendy styles would be nice as well. Peace.
Greg , to be honest all the male model or customers are fortunately good looking , don't be offence, kindly choose a guy who is average turn him as others before.
Isnt that all about a beard? You dont care! Eat a hole pig's leg, drink a cask of whiskey and beer, roast a ham and nibble it --- and stroke it gently with your mustache. You have so much more of your food, because you can taste it a week afterwards.
Greg Berzinsky Yeah even with wax and I’ve tried quite a few. I put it in , style it and it just drops and looks bad in no time. Because it’s quite long it’s looks scruffy and makes me self conscious. I’ll try your secret ingredient video though, thanks very much for the reply.
The worst is when you style your mustache perfectly and then realize you forgot to floss and brush your teeth.
Matthew .Brylinski right about that !
No lie !
😂🤣same here!
The walrus-Hungarian is the great two-for-one mustache that lets everyone know you mean business. I’m gonna “Keep On Growin’!”

I'm 30 yo and starting my mini Hungarian :D
Wow! Hungarian looks the best. My goal. Thanks!
Love the look of the Hungarian, that's my go to

I love eating hot wings with a walrus mustache.
Typically wear the Hungarian, but that styling balm may be in my future. Styling looks a lot easier with a bit of that. Good video.
The wonderful calming, informative Berzinsky tones are what Sunday’s are made for 🧔🏻👍🏻🧔🏻
Sunday's with Greg are always a good time

Hopefully not too mellow---we want you to stay awake!
I’m growing my first. It’s probably long enough now. I may shave my beard and just wear the mustache. I also like the Hungarian too. Thanks!
Been switching between handlebars, Hungarian, and walrus. Mostly walrus with a beard along.
Hungarian is the way to go . Love it .
Great to see you again Greg. Awesome styling tips. I like your more narrow beard. Looks great. Straws are a must but can I suggest non-disposable stainless steel ones. They’re cheap on amazon and make a big difference to the environment. Peace to you and yours.

We gotta ace amazon tho

And I suppose that bottled beer is out of the question for you? :) To quote Carlos 'NAPKINS are your friend".
I prefer keg beer, or tap beer. Served in a mug. So yeah... hahaha
Im a little late to the party but ive been growing out my handlebar mustache and teying to learn more about it. This is nowy life style! Lol

The Hungarian. I got about another month before I get it with mine . Thanks for the tips
Worth the wait
Me--- drinking beer at the bar with a straw
Friends--- WTF 🤯
Hello Greg, regarding that Sea Salt Spray what is it ??? Is it just salty water or is there natural oils etc in it???
Impressive Knowledge.
True Art.
I guess I wear the Hungarian the most then the walrus followed by handle bar and imperial. Would like to wear a handle bar more often but can't find a wax ,that I'd put in my stache, with a good enough hold that I have tired yet.

Love the epic sidepart fringe at that length on you Greg...this has become my new goal! (should be there in about 6 months...lol)

I admit that this is NOT my go-to style on date night with my wife (not a fan!) Prep (with dryer and brush) is 90% of the style here.
Do you trim your beard near the corners of your mouth where it might otherwise interfere with this mustache?
Can you tell me what brand straw you use
Thank you
John
I'm 22 and already started to grow a full beard and I1'm also in that hungarian or english mustache... but my mustache is small at the moment... but still growing ;D I just need to try some of your products soon...
Hey Greg, great video. Going to try the Hungarian myself.
Thanks---its a popular look
Great video! My mustache has grown out enough to begin styling it. Should I try to hold the mustache out of the way and style the beard to fall straight down instead of toward the jaw like it wants to go? 🧐
YES, try pushing the beard out of the way. Dont be afraid to make tiny snips on the moustache to even it up in-between barber visits.
Love the styling tips! I usually sport an English style handlebar, but I've been experimenting with the Hungarian lately because of your influence. I quarter a hamburger so as not to get it in the sides of my stache. I also kind of part my moustache when I eat.....AND NAPKINS
I have them liquefied and I feed through a tube that runs into my nose! Beard on! 👍
I like the Hungarian :)
Great content as always.
Thanks!
I still wear my stache pretty long and thick but I recently went with the regular lip line trim, while keeping the stache long and thick. Eating and drinking we’re bad enough but sometimes I couldn’t even talk without chewing my stache lol. Great video and tips 💈
BDACHTisALPHA what’s up bro...love your channel and the way you do things. Be well and Peace ✌️
Matthew Pearson thanks man. Much appreciated 👍🏽✊🏽
My next moustache trim will be the fully expressed lip---Change is in the Air!
I have a walrus now, but it could be longer as I believe I chew some length off when eating!!
When are we gonna see a Beardbrand round brush added to the site? Maybe with a nice ceramic barrel? A must have.
GRREEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGG....sup? The smoothest man alive is back! They gotsta get u for the Dos Equis commercials. Lol...seriously, tho.

I’m getting there eating becoming a little problem but with straws and wax I’m ready to go
Nice jumper, please tell me where you purchased it. ...?
I want to sport an English or a Hungarian but ultimately I end up with a walrus... both the English & the Hungarian encourage the usage of wax every day which I personally feel is not healthier for the hair... would definitely try your technique though...
Give it a shot, see what you think. The long term use of wax shouldn't hurt the hair so long as you're making sure to wash it out
- Jack
I agree with Jack---wax isn't unhealthy....but its the tugging on the hairs that you have to watch out for.

Are you able to pre-style with a hairdryer? Unless your hair naturally grows in the perfect curl, its a must for styled moustaches.
You can see the ringlight in his eyes, which makes it kind of fantasy looking. =D
Gives him a very mystical presence, doesn't it?

How long does it take to grow full walrus moustache ?
I missed your videos, thanks for this tutorial !

Greg Berzinsky Haha an adult one, it’s glass.
I can literally worship to your beard !
Nice look Greg!
Hey Greg! I've been pretty much growing and styling a Hungarian for a while now, and had been adding in a little of what little beard I had, but it wasn't giving me the right shape. What would you use to style it if your moustache hair was a little more curlier? (Is that even a word?? 😂)
You might have to spend a little more time with the warm air of a dryer to straighten the lip hair.
Hungarian is my favorite
Philly guy here lovin’ that “sailor” sweater. Where did you get it?
The Hungarian mustache also looks to me like the historical Firefighter mustache. Working on my Firefighter mustache for the second time. 👍🏻👨🏻🚒
Damn that haircut is amazing Greg!
Getting LONG
Greg Berzinsky I'd love to see a hairstyle tutorial for this long hairstyle.
I should do one tonight, as I've got an appointment with the barber tomorrow!
Thanks Lord.....its been a while since I cut the top.

what do you recommend for stiff hair ?
Hey man thanks for the question. Are you looking to soften and moisturize your hair? -Mack
@@Beardbrand yes .... I`ve got just like you a grey`ish beard and stache .... feels like stiff pigshair ....
How high should I keep my neckline for a medium length beard.?
Vinayak Singh. Two fingers above the thyroid gland
One of the biggest challenges associated with the "walrus" is when it comes to eating soup!
Bravo.
Looking good
Thought I wanted the handlebar .. now the Hungarian seems more of me.. or maybe just both lol
Hard to pick one...but you can have both
I’m the same the walrus is more comfortable, So is the Hungarian I started off wanting the Handel bars but appreciate the other two

Greg your moustache is awesome and what's your age?

Handleee baaaarrrr
Hell I just wish I could grow one like that
Greg your beard and mustache look amazing i rock the walrus im trying to find new styles for mustaches this is the first time im letting the stache grow it was annoying but now i’m getting use to using straws
I think this 4k is upscaled.
God, he's stunning

Well, I'm Hungarian, so I simply call it "mustache"... haha
Think the Hungarian is what I'm going for
I love the walrus and think it looks cool as hell, but holy s***t is it annoying to indeed eat...
I've worn a walrus and full beard my whole adult life and have many ruined fine shirts and neckties to prove it.
How do you carry a straw everyday everywhere?
The Hungarian looks like Emiliano Zapata
Just trimmed mine....coffee freak and it was annoying the hell out of me!

I may be the man to do it this spring.
so a hungarian is a half assed imperial?

Damn, cool look, just can't stand the food in the mustache thing. Also eating my own mustache...
The struggle is real.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest one of all ?
Greg do you smoke?
No....not even once.
I have spoken with smokes who have issues with big moustaches and smoking.....
