    Original Description:
The Last Jedi has stormed into theaters. The film is certainly one of the most complex films set in a galaxy far, far away so you’ll be forgiven if you didn’t catch everything on the first viewing. There’s a ton going on in the background that you may not have even noticed and we’re here to help you find them. For example, did you catch that Rey stole the Jedi books? Blink and you’ll miss it! Luke’s final reveal was actually telegraphed well in advanced in a masterful way. Supreme Leader Snoke actually has a piece of bling that harkens back to Rogue One! Speaking of bling, what were those dice that we saw a few times? Luke has a stash of trinkets at the tree on Ahch-To, one of them ties directly to Star Wars Battlefront 2 while another may be a reference to the beloved Knights of the Old Republic video games. We get our first look, sort of, at the first Jedi while at the temple with Luke and Rey. Did you think Rian Johnson forgot about the famous line “I have a bad feeling about this?” Think again! We got to see the old X Wing used in a very interesting way and get a call back to a character from Rogue One in the form of a ship. Of course, being Star Wars, there are a ton of cameos in the film that you likely didn’t catch either, some of them being quite obvious! So strap in for the video and enjoy the ride!

@@stevenschultz9637don’t even understand what you mean by ‘space gas’. Leia Poppins? You mean basic physics? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that scene. It actually fits perfectly. Leia was never a force user but she did practice. In space, all it takes is a small amount of force to move something so a little nudge was all she needed.
Random side quests? You mean the backup mission for trying to secure the Alliance and Rey’s safety? You can’t be serious when you say that’s a ‘random side quest’.
What’s wrong with the casino slaves? It’s a direct parallel to the world we live in. The rich prosper and the poor work for them. And considering slavery is a big part of the SW universe, it fits the lore of the series.
Luke’s Ending was the only time we ever see a Jedi actually perform Jedi duties. He addresses a conflict but doesn’t engage in any violence that causes harm to anyone but himself (not even the bad guys), which allows the good guys time to escape. It’s a beautiful ending to Luke. And his character fits perfectly in the narrative. Dude had time to learn about how the Jedi failed. He saw how his own father was a monster because of them. He saw how Kylo was easily manipulated. Every attempt he made at rebuilding failed. Ofc he would be a jaded hermit. Especially given how the First Order was still going strong and Luke was getting old.

Space gas - in this, the 8th movie of a series, (on top of Rogue One and the TV shows) is the first mention of anyone even having concern that they could run out of gas. It is objectively a weird time in the world building to be making a big deal about it. On top of the preposterous notion that the Resistance was going the Goldilocks speed to keep away from the First Order, it was a big pill to swallow.
These are all straws, which one broke the camel's back is hard to say. Here are some more.
The movie opened with cringe dialogue between Poe and Hux (it felt like they were heavily trying to push some Iron Man banter into Star Wars, and it didn't work), and included a bombing run scene with the most perplexingly designed space bombers in Star Wars. (the ones that drop bombs down even though there is no gravity in space) Y-Wing bombers had existed for decades.
Don't forget Leia's post death (I saw post death because everyone else in the room exploded, we call this plot armor) space leap back onto the ship, only to be in a coma for most of the rest of the movie and doing nothing to add to the plot. (Truly a missed opportunity for Leia's exit from the series as Carrie tragically died)
Star Wars is a work of science fiction, with a literal magic Force. It is not a parallel to our universe. What are you on?
If you don't like Star Wars or Luke Skywalker that's fine, but don't act like this movie was made for fans of Star Wars. I did lol at "personal complaints" though, that was pretty good 😂
I do want to point out that you used the word "fits" twice, which is what gave away that you've probably never seen a Star Wars movie, maybe work on that for next time you're trying to troll fans.

Ryan you won't care but I watched this movie yesterday for no reason whatsoever. I just scrolled through Disney plus and chose this movie just so I could see Mark Hamill (only reason to watch this movie but probably still not worth it) and I logged on UA-cam today and here the video is. You are amazing and please keep releasing these videos.

    I really love this series.
The new pitch meetings are always a joy and Ryan’s love of film is always obvious which is of course why these sketches are so uplifting even when he’s kicking the clichés about in ways they thoroughly deserve. Only a really knowledgeable lover of film could do something like this.
Which is why visiting older sketches and hearing the thinking behind them is so enjoyable. It’s a real work of art and extremely clever.

Mine too. The truth is that film is so dire the Pitch Meeting could have been twice as long and still not encompassed all the absurdities.
The 'momma' joke at the beginning?
Poe disobeying orders and getting thousands of his fellow Resistance members killed? And the only getting a slap on the wrist?
Rey being able to swim despite spending her whole life on a desert world?
Luke, the man who redeemed his evil father, attempting to murder his nephew because of a vision?
The slow motion space chase that could have been ended in minutes if only the First Order, who were not short of fuel, sent some of their ships to light speed and then returned in front of and around the Resistance ships?
The ease with which Finn and Rose managed to slip away to Canto Bight but nobody thought to evacuate others in this way?
The grand Resistance plan to just try and hold on long enough to reach an old abandoned Rebel Alliance base in the hope their might be a transmitter to use to call for help? Surely Finn and Rose could have done that on their way to Canto Bight?
The 'Holdo manoeuver' and the fact that nobody had ever thought to try it against the Death Star instead of relying on a strategy of making a "one in a million" shot by firing a torpedo down an exhaust port less than 2 metres wide?
Luke being able to project himself hundreds of light years across space.
The fact the whole premise of the first film was the two sides trying to find the map to locate Luke, half of which was stored in R2-D2, but when he was found he said he'd gone to hide away and die - so why leave the map behind in the first place?!
It must have been hard for Ryan to choose which of so many failings to lampoon.

@@ebresheait was there because as a terrible writer he didn't see a way out of that situation (because he himself established lightspeed tracking) so he invented a move that would save them and look cool on screen. Problem is, that even if that move is possible, Holdo could've lived by making a droid do the move or have the ship do it autonomously. It's just a disaster of storytelling to manufacture emotions from those not laying attention (it did look very cool though, that's all I'll give him).
