I will never not call this film "Fant-Four-Stic" 😂
Neither will I. It's what the movie is called, after all.
Chris Stuckmann refers to it as that
Me too, god intended me to diss this film as Fan4stic.
@@caesar7734 Ah, yes, when Chris was a real critic

I imagine Ryan's last pitch meeting being where Producer Guy asks "So you have a movie for me?" and then proceeds to sit there for 15 minutes in complete silence waiting for Scriptwriter Guy to show up, only to remember he finally fired him.
Way to break my heart
"So you have a movie for me?"
"No sir, I don't!"
END
"Do you have a movie for me?"
"No -I'm just here to tell you to clean out your office. The company is on the brink of bankruptcy because of you and they are kicking you out."

As a writer, I actually really enjoyed watching you edit your script. It would be cool to see an older draft from a classic Pitch Meeting and see how it changed before you shot it.
Agreed. And since I spend ages writing and editing google docs, it's a nice change to see someone else’s process.
Agreed (also I was your 69th like)
As someone who also struggles with enjoying the taste of chocolate and then eating it, learning you have the same condition hit hard. Stay strong Ryan 💪
Likewise, although mine isn't as severe. I only crave dark chocolate.
I'm like a chocoholic, only I drink booze instead of eat chocolate.
I have recently been able to partly overcome my condition by switching to dark chocolate, which is more expensive, so I eat less of it.
I gave up sweets for lent. There is a cure, stay strong my brothers!
I think he looks better now than he did then
As a writer, I really appreciated seeing how you edit your script to your updated standards
Ditto!
I was going to post almost the exact same comment! 😆 Glad I saw yours first!
love it
Xerox.
I will... *counts comments* sixth this? big agree, i mean
The editing was NOT boring, it was an awesome window into your creative process and I'd love to see more 😄 And not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but it might even be cool if you re-dubbed a few lines and played them over stills from the original?
You could even play them back-to-back with the original snippet, for comparison. Like, "So here's the original again... (15-second snippet) And here's how it would sound with these edits (10-second redub) Do you see how much better that flows?"
I realise it would be extra work, but just an idea for you! And thank you for these Revisited episodes, I enjoy them at least as much as the vanilla episodes.
I think you got your wish!
@bernier42 heck yeah! 😂
"But for now, this is still what brings me the most joy, so I'm going to keep doing it until that's no longer the case."
I'm sure it brings all of us great joy to hear that, Ryan.
I’d actually been very curious about scripts and stuff so this was very interesting and I enjoyed it. Congrats on having being a dad soon.
I enjoyed it too. It was enlightening to see how he approaches editing.
Yeah definitely keep it going Ryan!
I understand. I have always been very curious about ice cream, so it's pretty much the same thing.
Same here... I was the kid that wanted the Director's Cuts of films.
"I didn't have 'unclear', yet, in my arsenal"
...yup...Ryan definitely weaponized that word.
Weirdly unclear is also an anagram for nuclear

im gonna need you to get all the way off of my back on that one
The google doc editing is riveting. I don't mean engrossing, more like physically watching someone install rivets. When there is a re-visit of a re-visit and there is a play-by-play of what should have been talked about, that will be perfect entertainment.
So, this is your review of Ryan's riveting re-visit re-editing?
I'm so glad you've turned your mic around now. I no longer have to reverse the audio to understand what you're saying.
"You can burn out on something you love and still love it" Good lord thank you for that validation Ryan.
I love how honest and down to earth Ryan is
It is a wrong quote. He said "You can burn out doing something you love even though you lucky to be doing it".

Also known as “everyone who works in theatre or entertainment in general”. Some jobs or communities take advantage of your passion, and it’s hard learning that you have to disassociate a bit from something you care about so much.
Yep 21 years in the film biz for me.
As someone who lived through the ‘90s, I actually really appreciated the “So this takes place in the ‘90s?”/“No, 2007” bit 🙂 I’m glad it wasn’t trimmed in the original 🙂
Same!
Same
Hope he does a Damsel p pitch meeting
Yea it puts it even more into perspective when you realize 2007 is just 7 years before this movie released. N64s and giant clunky PCs weren't the current items lol
I wouldn't call it clap-and-cheer entertaining but I'd say it was very neat seeing you edit your old script because it gives insight into how you approach the final product (and obviously people enjoy the final product). It also highlights that in your revisiting you felt the "you said 'do do'" part was untouchable and perfect as is.
I *LOVED* the writing breakdown.
With how funny these come out I never have a chance to remember how much talent and skill is required thru all the laughter 😂
I hope I’m not the only one but I’m definitely wanting more writing breakdowns
I think the joke about what year it is with the technology the characters use was the funniest one in this script, so im glad you didn't cut that one
Yea I would keep it in too
Well,it is proof of a blatant lack of care.
Just imagine how many other great jokes Ryan must have cut for pacing over those years.
The line about it being only 2007 was a very funny line. The setup was perfect, "So, it was in the 1990s?" I cracked up when you said, "No, 2007."
just so you know Ryan, your work is also getting mentioned in other youtube channels (not at all related to comedy too!).
I recently saw the super easy barely inconvenience reference in a physics channel. and it's so wholesome!
Love your work man. ❤
Watching you "correct" your script is actually both interesting and helpful to know what the thought process is behind each line, how to deliver as much as possible in the least amount of time, and not to repeat already said things.
Ryan's delivery has come a long way since his original pitch meetings. His faster comic pace and funny quips and trademark lines would develop very well over the years to their greatness now!
Yeah his acting skills have increased or he’s more comfortable in front of the camera (prob both).
yea he's a lot more expressive now and it comes across as confidence too
I quite liked the "touching up the old script" part.
Me too! Maybe a little too fast and, in honor of the movie, not much payoff. It would've been good to make a quick edit of how the new scene would be compared to the old one.
I also liked it and I want to help bump up this comment for visibility. So I'm leaving a reply here...too...Because I enjoyed the "touching up of the old script" part.
Well. My work here is done, I suppose.
@@laseede17I liked the addition, but I think doing a quick edit (I'm guessing you mean something like a producer guy short) to show us how it would look may undermine a bit of why he's doing Revisited, since it's supposed to be an easy quick video to give more breathing room for his main videos.
I think editing the DOC is a good middle ground, since it's more visual and specific than him vaguely saying what scene he would want to improve.
Touching up in front of others is tight!
I’m glad this still brings you joy because it definitely does for all of us. Entertaining, and also a real service - there have been many movies that I just am not ever going to watch, but I appreciate a 5 minute plot summary to validate my decision.
Loved the script editing section! It’s really interesting to see behind the scenes stuff like that and get pointers 😁
The de-aging VFX on this pitch are uncanny
I know! He looks at least 6 years younger
Telling the difference between older Pitch Meetings and newer ones?
Super easy, barely an inconvenience.

RYAN...PLEASE DON'T LEAVE. Your Pitch Meetings are epic and unique. I've found myself literally in tears laughing at them. I often search for pitch meetings for some movies that deserve them. Keep em coming 🙂
I really like the rewrite bits here! Wasn’t boring at all - actually not even an inconvenience. There are few channels with videos under ten minutes that I bother with but you do excellent work and it’s been fun watching you go back over the older material and update it. Keep up the great work man!
It was an inconvenience, but just barely 😊
Who else would love for Ryan to reshoot a pitch meeting during one of these where he keeps the dialogue exactly the same and has the new energy and delivery?
I was thinking it would be fun to see him redo a script and record it without having looked at what he did a decade ago
And then compare
That sounds like a great idea!
That would be really fun to watch
Or just record the edited script he made so we can see how it improved!
This
As a writer, I love seeing you edit your scripts! If your audience find it boring, why are they even watching revisited Pitch Meetings?
The best part of this was hearing that there is no end in sight for pitch meetings 😀
"You can't expect me to know basic things" is my new saying 😂
I'm just glad to know that the writers strike did not affect pitch meeting at all. Screenwriter guy has taken Hollywood to a new level
Been enjoying your "bonus material" format. Watched the whole video, and I'm glad you didn't cut any of it.
The was the best time I've spent watching someone edit a doc. Thank you sir!
Revisiting your old Google doc is TIGHT
This Pitch Meeting was fantastic, not fant4stick, so it’s automatically better!
The Pitch Meeting was in fact fanfivestic
Have been watching your videos for years, they bring me and my friends lots of joy! I say “super easy, barely an inconvenience” unironically at work all the time. Thanks for bringing your humor to life with these videos!
I’ve always really enjoyed a well-timed “wow”.
Johnny got fire powers because fire got in his suit, Ben turns into the thing because rocks got in his suit, Reed gets all stretchy because he was wearing a condom. Makes as much sense as the rest of this movie.
💀☠️
And Sue gained her powers because she actually just happens to be a wizard. 🤣
Sue gets her invisibility powers because shes a woman and should have been in the kitchen
And Susan was blowing bubblegum bubbles, I guess
I also want those stretchy powers!
From now on I'm gonna wear *always* a condom, in case some green stuff comes along to give me powers.
I actually really like the the bit by bit breakdown of the Doc.
LOVE learning about your process! That's my favorite part of the revisited series.
Love this revisited stuff. Thanks for letting us in on the document, really useful to see
Watching the old pitch meetings is cool to see how far Ryan has come with finding his footing for these. They sound a bit more serious in the past and are even funnier now with how he makes them talk
I thank Ryan for bringing attention to the Eating Chocolate and other Sweet Stuff syndrome.
Most people don't know what this is and thus can't understand us.
Truly One of the Best UA-camr of our generation 😢😢
Right now the only treatment for it is to eat chocolate & other sweet stuff.

It will always fascinate me to see someone, especially a writer, artist, musician, etc., not only explain their work but also show how they actually create it.
Loved the editing honestly. Interesting to see the thought process.
I watch these Revisited to hear you comment on your old videos and what you think about it. This was really interesting, hope you do more of it
It's really good to know that Pitch Meeting brings you a lot of joy. It seems like the kind of thing that could feel really repetitive and grindy to do, so it's nice to know that you have fun with it.
This 👍🏿
I'm always amazed by how sedate you are in these earlier videos. The writer guy and producer guy we see in the current pitch meetings look like they've been corrupted by an Eldritch horror with those rictus grins and I love it.
Have you ever thought about not just ‘revisiting’ your pitches but also redoing them, with tweaked scripts? Also you are the one UA-camr that has never failed to make me laugh and brighten my day, so i thank you for 4 years of that :)
Love the script editing. It's so cool to see how you've grown and changed.
The script editing is cool, do it again on another revisited!
You say "it's boring" but actually it is very insightful for new writers/content creators. To check and cut down their work before moving on to the next step is valuable! It will literally stop postproduction headaches from happening, especially after you've already shared it with the world. And it's good to see that practice done by a well-seasoned content creator such as yourself. So take note creatives! This is a great gift that Ryan is giving with these "Revisited" videos. Thank you, sir!
Really liked the editing the Google Doc parts, it provides great insight into the writing process, loved it ♥
I just want you to know, I was on the edge of my seat while you were editing that document. Riveting!
I really liked seeing the script and how you might change it years later, doesn't need to be in every single "revisited" or you can always keep it fairly brief, but it's not boring the way you did it as a small part of the video like you did here.
Truly one of the movies of all time.
It definitely had actors and writing that were.

Hey Ryan. You probably won't read this, but I really did enjoy your rewrite segment. It wasn't boring at all. I like listening to your thought process and seeing older scripts get the gold standard we've come to know and love. I hope you keep doing these script rewrites for the revisited episodes.
P.S. There's no shame in indulging in some chocs. Parenting is tough. Adulting is tough. Life is tough. Get your chocs on. I'll send you even more chocs if I could. :)

I just enjoy food. But I cook healthy ingredients so I’ve actually lost 100 pounds since 2015!
As someone who enjoys writing and the creative process, I have to say the part where you went through the script and highlighted the changes you would make was extremely engaging. I enjoy getting to peer into someone else's thought process behind their creative decisions; it's always interesting to see what thoughts go into the decisions that are ultimately made, so please keep doing this in future "Revisited" videos.
It's gonna be fun to see your revisitings evolve just as much as the actual pitch meetings did!
I actually really enjoyed watching the script editing. Watching parts of the process feels like the extra stuff you watch when you can’t be bothered to get up and change the dvd
The editing process is very interesting, you should definitely keep it in.
THANK YOU FOR THE BEHIND THE SCENES WRITING BIT! As a content creator myself it's always nice to see how someone else does things that you like to watch. So thank you for that. You are an inspiration that videos can be made.
As someone who just took a screenwriting class, I love this. Keep showing us your edits!
I enjoyed the script editing, please do more of that! I like seeing how creators refine their process(es?).
LOVED the “script rewrite” portion
I enjoyed the script edits.
And you know what else I enjoy? The idea of you doing Pitch Meetings for the rest of the Superman films. Don't forget Supergirl!
Definitely would like to see more of you re-editing your scripts. The entire time I watched that pitch meeting, I was thinking about how different it feels from your modern style, so seeing you actually go in and think about how you'd do it today was very interesting to me.
I watch the revisited Pitch Meetings to see all the interesting behind-the-scenes stuff you add in the end. I also like to see your drawings, that's fun.
I really like the idea of watching you revise older pitch meetings with your standards and experience of today. That'd be fun.
Inb4 he draws something related to the 1982 film
EDIT: Ryan, the bts of scriptwriting was not boring. But editing, screenplay/scriptwriting & practical effects are my favourite part of cinema
I was expecting that the same, and even though he didn't do it, I wouldn't mind if he actually covered the 1982 _The Thing_ movie.
I loved watching you edit your script! Would very much enjoy seeing you do it in future revisits
Really enjoyed that script editing. As an aspiring writer it's super exciting to see someone so accomplished go back to their earlier work and refine it. Would honestly watch a video of you just fully going through the process of how you write these scripts/editing them or just other forms of video that could be great white noise as I work on my own writing.
I found the analysis of what you'd do differently with the script now really interesting! I think it fits the concept of doing Revisited videos really well and I'd love to see it again
Loved this analysis too even though it's not what I'm looking for here, maybe a separate format for those would be better? Either way I'm here for it.
QUESTION:
Have you ever considered just remaking some of your older pitch meetings? New script, new jokes, new Ryan?
I'm certain many of us would love it! Especially with the really big franchises.
Thank you for all your work!
Loved the script edit, haven’t watched many these re-visiteds but will be back to see more script edits!
I really liked the editing bit. It's neat to see how you have grown and evolved as a scriptwriter and storyteller.
I am so glad you opened up about your chocolate addiction. Finally I feel heard and seen! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! :-*
This Pitch Meeting has one of my favorite endings in the series. I just love the way they point at each other and laugh after the "fantastic".
It's such a strong premise and your execution is only getting better, I'm fine if ya never stop.
I like this format of revisited-- the Google doc was not boring at all. I liked having a more concrete understanding of your thought process. Thanks for sharing it with us!

@@goblinounourshe also did *Chronicle,* which I thought was a really good movie.
In a weird way, I always saw *Chronicle* as “Superman Begins.” The 3 characters are in a way Id, Ego and Superego. The ship they find has that “crystalline Christmas ornament” look from Donner’s film, and I took it as “a baby wouldn’t survive the trip, but what if the ship contained the essence of Krypton and beamed the Kryptonian into the natives, who would already be acclimated to the environment”? The ending even has an homage to *Superman II* with DeHane throwing a bus at “Superman” (whose actor has the black hair and blue shirt). In the end, the sole survivor is flying to a Buddhist temple to learn meditation and emotional control, to essentially become Superman.
