Building a tiny jail may be good early on. Also I think the Inn keeper family should be farmers with a tiny 3x3 single crop farmland. That way if they fall under hard times they will still have a little food to sell.
The jail process has started. Farmers with the inn and a tiny farm land doesn't sound too bad.

When selecting your town, I think the zoom level determines how big and how many various features there are (I.e one or two big lakes versus 10 small ones)
That is correct. I found that out shortly after, hehe.
Could you show and tell the different zones your people live in now? I only see four houses, but I am unsure of who lives where.

Lords live in very top. To the right are servants and guards. Below them are the farmers. By the pond in the south are fishers, and those to the left are foresters. 😊
