Becoming a Medieval Despot in Just 3 Weeks | Lords and Villeins

- Lords and Villeins is a new colony sim with a really well done and interesting take on the economy . Instead of villagers working for a common collective overseen by you the omnipresent being in the sky, your villagers are familial units with their own wants and needs. You tell them what to build, but they get those goods from each other in an organic and NPC-driven economy. There's a ton of depth beyond the surface, and I wanted to explore at least a fraction of it.
The game is coming out of early access for a full release today. Check it out at: store.steampow...
Thanks to Honestly Games and Fulqrum Publishing for the key and the opportunity to check the game out a bit early.
Would absolutely watch more of this. You explain the concepts perfectly
Thanks! I try to introduce new games in a way that's easy to understand but still really fun. I'm thinking about doing a full series, but my schedule's pretty packed in the coming months, so I'm not sure how viable that is
You have super entertainer qualities at heart, maybe even salesman too. I am desperately in need of more content on this game from you.
Thanks! I've been absolutely dug into Dwarf Fortress lately but may come back for a one off in the future if there're more updates to the game!
This game : Here is something, you need something, also something, dont forget about the other something that you need to produce that something.
Yeah, it can be brutal early on. You want a windmill for those bakers to actually make bread? Hope you have sheep to make wool, someone to spin that into thread, and someone to turn that into rope. Plus you'll need an architect to make them stone ovens.
ya this game is a rare title that has a LOT one can learn and it WILL take good lifetimes of ingaem family's to learn fully
Definitely. There's a lot of depth to the systems that means there's always more to learn.
@@JustDontDie wont lie i accaly fear jumping back in now its near completeion because i was in early before the nobles and shit :P but dam thoes taxes be STEEP
Villains and Villeins.
This game has gotten me excited for economy to return to Dwarf Fortress... even though that's probably a decade+ from now lol
Same. I love the economy system in this game and wish it, or similar iterations, were in other games.
Great explanation of the game and it's systems. I'm a bit 50/50 on it though. You said the game says you are not some God from above but, it seems you pretty much have to do and guide everything in the same way only with 1 step removed. Will keep an eye on it to see how develops. As said though, great explanation
Yes, it's somewhat disappointing that you still have to place each and every wall and furniture
@@PP-ms8ly Yep, Manor Lords seems more up my alley tbh.
"Be a lord, but do everything for the commoners" lmao
Has anyone noticed that the villeins will do really stupid things sometimes like trap themselves in a wall and not dismantle the wall when I tell them to to get out and then end up starving to death? It's so maddening!
Top Notch Content
not a fan of 2D games, but this one seems very good!
It's a super interesting game. I wasn't expecting it to be nearly as deep as it is.
wish more colony sims had this distinction of peasants & Lords as opposed to everyone in a medieval society being weirdly socially equal (farthest frontier, ostriv, going medieval, etc.)
edit: great video btw
It's a super nice touch. I kind of wish this game, and any others, went even further with it, but this game already does an excellent job of using it to make the game more interesting.
