Pokemon Trainer Battle - Rock Jazz Orchestra Version (The 8-Bit Big Band)

- The incredible "Trainer Battle" theme from Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow arranged for full sized big band and string orchestra featuring Andy Gutauskas on a burning Baritone Sax solo with effects pedals. This theme is so awesome and full of amazing chromaticism and non functional harmony! Check out that flying string section too. Thanks for listening!
Hearing this theme transports me right back to the school bus with my gameboy in hand trying to pull off the glitch where you can duplicate pokemon by pulling the link cable out at the right time with your friend :)

"Hip Kid sent out Mewtwo!"
i'm sorry he did what
+
AestheticLeo F
Youngster Joey really moving up in the world
He basically committed murder.
Thanks for the spoiler.
That hip kid throwing a lvl 70 mewtwo against a lvl 15 pikachu though...
The hip kid was the actual player character the whole time.
That's what you call an epic gamer
He's just that hip
RUN
Youngster Joey back at it again
Pokémon let’s go: we have an orchestra
8 bit big band: *we have an army*
8-bit band: AND WEVE GOT A BUNCH IF TRUMPETS
We've got a Mewtwo
That surprised Pikachu face is my second favorite thing about the video, right behind the amazing music 👍
And how Pikachu tried to run only to get JAZZED by Mewtwo.
I'm making that face right now listening to this
The fact they put that in there was genius 🤣 Pikachu was aghast
8-Bit Big Band used Nostalgia
It was super effective!
Viewer used dislike... But it failed!
For more nostalgia try these boys: ua-cam.com/video/bOBy09aie20/v-deo.html
If Mario Kart 8 had a Pokémon-themed track, this would be it's background music.
Correction: it would also have the sound of those God-awful blue shells slamming into you.
I love seeing the smile on the cello player’s face each time the camera focuses on her. 2:44 You can tell she was having so much fun and has probably spent a great chunk time of playing Pokémon games!
3:03 is super cute. That’s how I’d be feeling making this music
THOSE CHROMATIC RUNS, SO CLEAN, HAVE MERCY
Oh man that intro was awesome. And that crunchy-ass delayed sax solo, dayum. Another phenomenal arrangement! 😍
That was awesome never heard anything like that
How much to have them follow me around and play appropriate game music for everything I encounter?
*jaw drop*
This is very strange, a person that is verified that does not have comments saying: What are you doing here?
if only the kanto battle remixes in Let's Go were this good
"Let's put the wild Pokemon battle theme in a mAjOr kEy"
I appreciate all the time that went into finding these old Pikachu animations from Yellow
That bari sax solo gave me goosebumps holy crap, that dude can play!
*how I felt it sounded playing the game as a five year old*
That pianist is a boss. Everyone in that room is. Bravo
not at all ashamed to say that i’ve been brought to tears listening to this... you all are amazing ❤️
"looking to protect yourself, or deal some DAMAGE?"
*surprise pikachu face* haha. Anyone that wants to hear more Pokemon music in this big band style, the original anime soundtrack is basically the video game music arranged to this style.
I can't think of a style that embodies the spunk, action, stress, and joy that Pokemon battles bring quite like what you guys are putting out
"Go! Beloved Franchise Mascot!"
There’s so much detail put into the battle
I also like the surprised pikachu in the middle
That intro had me looking around frantically! And the arrangement was fantastic! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Edit: AND DEAR GOD THOSE SOLOS!!!!!! I can’t get enough of you guys and gals!
OMG that bari sax solo! Yes!
This was the most exciting pokemon battle I've witnessed in a long time.
Amazing work! Also congrats on the recent Grammy win! Out of all of the Pokémon battle themes, I like this one the best because with the rise and falling of the melody, somehow the stakes never felt higher. Y'all bring it to life beautifully.
Do the woodwind and base players even breathe
Emmie No, we just have muscle spasms that somehow give us enough oxygen to reach the end of the piece.
@CoolDerp25 doesn't work that way. Blow out through your mouth and try to breathe in without stopping air. It's impossible. What we do is at rests we take the edges of our mouths off and inhale through nose and mouth
@@khoshekhthecat Correct you are my fellow woodwind.
@@justinflowers9380 sax, what do you play
Khoshekh The Dog man got blanked
Did pikachu just "Blast off again" at the end?
Nintendo. Make a Pokémon musical, and have this be in it for the first battle.
Sounds better than in Let's Go and straight out of the first season of the anime, this is crazy! Amazing job to all of you
*Accidentally looks at description early*
Ooh, bari solo?
*Bari solo*
*WHEEZE*
8 bit Big Band, I Choose You!
I can hear the sound of the attacks in my head
For me, this is an absolut banger !
Fucking amazing. I haven't seen a band this good in years.
this has to be the best version of this song!
Without question the best cover of the Trainer Battle theme I've ever heard. Unspeakably good work. Thanks!!
Amazing as always. The twist in the animation absolutely killed me.
I’m sure everyone here played this game at some point growing up ❤🎉 this is awesome 🤩
Gosh this was so good!! It had like a Bond feel to it almost? Marvelous
8 Bit big band, pokémon masters!
Oh my goodness. This game is such an important part of my childhood, and this cover was so masterfully executed. Everything about this was delightful! I really needed this today-thank you for your hard work!
Didnt even notice a miss/miss turn because i was too focused on that solo
Gen 1 miss at its finest
Once again truly INCREDIBLE! Always floored by the quality of your guys' performances! Fantastic!
Omg I love everything you guys did here! When you first played this live, I loved the show! It was phenomenal! You guys truly are something special.
WOW! What an incredible job. I can just feel the passion from this group. Great work!
Whoever does your animations doesn't get paid enough
I absolutely love this arrangement! While my parents were listening to the OST on my Super Gameboy/SNES, this is what I actually heard since the battles were really that epic XD
I'm getting TINGLES and I'm only 25 seconds in
とてもお洒落です。画面の演出も好きです。
That is absolutely beautiful. The best version of this song I've ever heard.
The music is always beyond expectations but I think it’s worth noting the production quality you guys have for the animations on each vid! Great stuff!
Great video, I love how you guys go the extra mile to add this little animations that go so well with the music, thanks for that dedication to us fans.
I was waiting for this and. Its. LOVELY. Pokemon R/B/Y were my favorite games growing up and this was wonderfully put together.
Thank you guys for sharing this masterpiece with us!
YEEEESSSS!!!! I’ve waited so long for a new video and you did not disappoint! Can’t wait to see more jazz remixes in the future, I love you bye!
This baritone saxophonist is great. He's stood out to me in all the videos on this channel!
So much detail to visuals and to the music!
This is now my favorite video on all of UA-cam. You guys are amazing please keep up the good work. Your band has inspired me to continue playing in my school band, and I plan on staying in band until I graduate and possibly even further on. Please keep it up, yall are a wonderful group of people. Have a good day.
That was beautiful. It really is the kind of music I like, all those instruments played in this style, it's perfect. It made me think about my favorite game's music so it's definitely cool.
Perfect. Brings a tear to my eye.
Astounding performance! I’ve come to expect nothing less from you guys and gals. Y’all should release a vinyl with all these tasty tracks
This was really cool. The musicians, editors, animation, etc.
OoooHHHH the opening gave me goosebumps. Not the gameboy, the opening to the song. Keep up the fantastic work!
OMG this made me cry tears of joy. I dunno why. Maybe because it's what I loved as a kid (still today) in its most perfect possible musical iteration. Thank youuuu.
Honestly I will never find another band like this out there, the skill and the music is phenomenal. Can't wait to see what comes next!
Hahaha, that surprised pikachu when the mewtwo shows up is top notch
The animations are so on point
I swear this is the best channel on youtube
God, you guys are SO underrated! This should be everywhere, it’s AMAZING!

You guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!
Man, at the end of that I was expecting the video to continue and hear everyone who played cheering like I was! Great job!!!
I am impressed, this is an incredible arrangement.
When Rattata damages Pikachu with a Tail Whip...
this is the coolest shit oh my god :000000
this is a super nice arrangement & it sounds so incredible!!
It's super effective!
0:14 INSTANT SKIP
Where have you guys been hiding in my life? Wonderful cover, I love Jazz meets Pokemon and you did it amazingly well, I look forward to more Pokemon in the future.
Great work as always
Not once did i ever think about ripping a solo through one of my favorite video game soundtracks. And man do i have a new dream now 💙
Big shout out to all you guys for all you do, y'all deserve more views and love!
Such excellent quality
I'm glad to see a good story go along with such great music. Well done. 👍
The sound, the editing, just,... everything.
Gosh.
the intro tho. I'm binge-watching this channel because all the arrangements are too good.
Nostalgia feels! This was amazing!
This is underrated! This deserves a lot more recoginition! That's a nice song with a great montage.
Amazing as always
Is there a piece being referenced at 1:36??? This sounds super familiar but I can't place what it is... and it sounds incredible!
Check discord
I was sort of inspired by the Bacchanale sequence in the opera Samson and Delilah by Saint-Saëns so it's kind of a nod to that :)
Nice intro! Y’all be snappin on these songs bro! Can’t wait for the next album! Jared better werk dem sticks! Lovin these arrangements! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The trumpet line at 0:32 was so clean! And the ending was amazing
I absolutely love this
The best part of this is seeing the GIGANTIC smile on that cellist's face throughout the entire performance :)
It's so lovely to see this music being played by people who truly love and enjoy it
Imagine if they had a band playing different battle themes for live Pokemon Tournaments!
Wonderful!!!
Play this at my funeral!
That sax solo, man, You rarely hear something like this. Goosebumps!
