went from being blown away by this arrangement at magfest to this normal release and finding out that y'all featured PATRICK BARTLEY ON THIS ONE???? OH NAHHHHHHHH BRO, I'M SO READY FOR THIS NEXT ALBUM
Absolutely phenomenal. The rock-solid bop on this one coupled with Patrick's freeform flight is truly the song for my winter. Hell, almost getting a little Herrmann vibe from the whole production.
I went to the concert in DC back in march. When they played this, I nearly lost my entire mind. I've been waiting so long for this. Thank you for making my life better.
Wow, this is amazing! I've been wanting to hear a bop version of this song for so long, no joke, and you guys delivered something way better than anyone could've imagined. So good!
All Pat's collabs are great. The Consouls just released their World 6 album on Spotify and Pat is on the Deltarune track 🔥 The Consouls Best of Radio 2021 is also banger!
This is so good! I got to hear this live at your Miami show, and it's already one of my favorites of your arrangements! Can't wait for the rest of album 4!
LOVE PAT! His sound is just so juicy! This arrangement is amazing and the performance is so tight with the hits. it is making me so hyped for the next album!
OMG This is killin, great job Charlie awesome arrangement!!!! and of course pat ate that like a KING. I can definitely hear Shorter's Yes or No at 0:27. At 1:55 Kinetic? simply amazing, no wonder why Steven is playing the piano🤩, wow❤ the sax soli is super catchy and i loved that call and response between the sax section during soli. Lovely work❤
I love that you also caught the completely accidental Feifke quote, like I didn't even realize I did that until he was like "..umm is this a me quote?" on the session hahaha me and him go way back so we've both consciously and subconsiously influenced each other a lot over the years!
literally randomly decided to search song of storms only to find this had been posted in the last hour! Brilliant guys! Got to be one of my favourite video game standards of all time!
This arrangement is so good. Kudos to everyone involved. Never before have I wondered what The Seatbelts would sound like performing Nintendo music, but dang I got it right here. 10/10.
Damn!! That was beautiful. I came across you guys by total accident on UA-cam. Totally glad I did. My late Papa liked playing video games with us when we were kids. Particularly Super Mario on the NES. He had fun even though he wasn’t very good. But man did he love jazz. I’m totally sure he would’ve loved this.
THis is great, this is too great. This is the best kind of cover, it's entirely the same song but does it in such a unique way that it's it's own thing as well.
Love love LOVE what you do!! I added your covers in to the classic big band jazz I had playing during the cocktail hour of my wedding, it was the perfect subtle nod to our love of gaming - plus it was fun for our guests who got the references!
For those wanting quartet-style, there's also The Consouls (their World 6 album - on which Pat plays - and Best of 2021 Radio on Spotify are absolute fire)
I heard you guys play this in Miami, hearing this again makes me really happy. Absolutely incredible performance. (Btw that drop at 0:32 is beyond amazing)
Been waiting a long time for this collab, and it was well worth it! Patrick Bartley is a god and y'all knocked the arrangement out of the park, like always!
Why is this gem not on Spotify yet?! Simply stunning! I am new to the game tune jazz canon but this is Hope Incarnated for jazz. Phenomenal arrangement, execution and solo.
The musicality demonstrated here is on that expert level, always so refreshing to see. Such a good job with the arrangement and to every artist on their instrument, inspiring!
Big Swing sound. This is the sound I've been missing for decades. Large in charge horn sections sweetened by the voluptuous strings. And a decadent on point rhythm section driving the beautiful arrangement. Wow!!
I heard this at your miami show and i've been anticipating the video for this and not only is it hear you got Patrick Bartley to do the solo this is the best day of my life. Album 4 gonna be insane
YOU'RE BACK!!!!!! This was so GOOD!! So cool to see Bartley here. I love this band's sound and I love this band -- it brings me so much happiness whenever you upload more! Looking forward to seeing yet more jazz wonders from you all soon!!
Glad to see (and hear!) a new release from you guys. Was starting to get worried that we'd hit a full year since a new feature-length song hit the channel. I know there's been a solid amount of live shows in the intervening time (and I hope to see one one day) but I've been craving new releases in the comfort of my own home.
There's something just so special about just drum and sax going off. Actually I feel the same way when it's just the piano and the drums going off but yeah... so lovely and on fire!
They took this solemn sounding song that made you feel like you were standing alone in a torrential downpour at peace with yourself and turned into this fun flighty number where you are dancing in that downpour feeling on top of the world!
Thanks for the pointer - what a great composition that is! The keys part in the beginning is a little remisicent of Crystal Waters 'Gypsy Woman' (but I suppose lots of tunes have that 90s-esque rhythm and progression. I also love Pat's trio version of this tune from 2017 (Coltrane-like).
I heard this tune for the first time at your recent concert at Berklee, it's so incredible! Another unique adaptation of an ocarina melody! I also appreciate the Majora's Mask animation, it breaks up the over-saturation of Ocarina of Time in your Zelda library. Not that it's not all great, I just wish I could see other Zelda games represented
fantastic, new favorite from you guys
You got some good taste in music my man
I am excited to see this in ymfahs next video
Same here man, I love that This works so well with Big band jazz. Big band jazz just makes everything better
No way, I didn't know the guy from the Dark Souls PvP montages liked 8-bit Big Band. How are you doing Jelly Elite?
Iron, love your content man. So happy to see you channel explode after all these years.
Whenever I see something along the lines of “ft. Patrick Bartley” I know whatever it is I’m about to listen to is going to be straight heat 🔥
💯8BBB, J-Music Ensemble and The Consouls
Special props to Jared on drums. Every time I thought it couldn't get crazier, it did. That duo with the sax was insane!
This is sooo 🔥🔥🔥
it’s so good
Woooo that drums/sax solo break at 2:47 is so good!! Incredible modal textures here!
Pat going HARD there
Man this really left an impression on me
This guy
went from being blown away by this arrangement at magfest to this normal release and finding out that y'all featured PATRICK BARTLEY ON THIS ONE???? OH NAHHHHHHHH BRO, I'M SO READY FOR THIS NEXT ALBUM
so late to the party, but glad I saw it now! amazing performance by the whole band, can't get enough of this!!
Absolutely phenomenal. The rock-solid bop on this one coupled with Patrick's freeform flight is truly the song for my winter. Hell, almost getting a little Herrmann vibe from the whole production.
This combination reigns supreme! (or perhaps "rains" supreme).
Very smooth arrangement, and incredible soloing Pat!
hahahah nice
I'd like to thank all band members for their "precipitation" in this performance
@@notmyrealname6168 These rain puns are drowning me.
Such a good arrangement! Pat sounds killer as always :^)
shoutout to Reginald Chapman sounding incredible on the bass bone too
Been a *VERY* long time seen you guys play, and Happy new Years!!!!
The motifs from Impressions is the icing on top
Man, the music is phenomenal, but can we talk about the video production quality? It’s straight up amazing!
As a sax player, I always love seeing the sax features. Love the song, always happy when a new 8-bit song comes out
My favourite on the band has always been the drummer. Every time Jared is on screen hes just Vibin more than anyone ever.
YESSS 8-Bit-BB + Pat is such a great combo... both are recently in my most listened artists 🔥
I'd add The Consouls to that list :)
This is so nice, super great job maestros, everybody! Including the animations
Wow, instant classic. Going straight into my Good Vibes playlist!
I went to the concert in DC back in march. When they played this, I nearly lost my entire mind. I've been waiting so long for this. Thank you for making my life better.
Pat Bartley is an absolute beast. awesome arrangement
Wow, this is amazing! I've been wanting to hear a bop version of this song for so long, no joke, and you guys delivered something way better than anyone could've imagined. So good!
I clicked on this video without reading the title, but once I heard that sax I knew who you guys brought on! Amazing colab, and amazing music
What would also be juicy is a 'H.A.N.A. Quartet' and Consouls collab with 8BBB!

0:38 just how Pat articulates that note made me listen to this like a hundred times already
At 1:42 it suddenly turns into Kind of Blue - absolutely brilliant writing :D
That's impressions
I heard it!
so what?
@@anders2484it's both
So What over Song of Storms isn't something I knew I needed. Phenomenal idea.
My 2 favorite vgm jazz cover channels have come together to remix one of the best Legend of Zelda songs. I'm absolutely loving this!!
I'd love to add a third - The Consouls. They could collab with 8BBB the way Snarky Puppy played with Metropole Orkest!
literally randomly decided to search song of storms only to find this had been posted in the last hour!
Brilliant guys! Got to be one of my favourite video game standards of all time!
Truly impeccable timing on your part haha welcome!
"standard" hahaha, it fits.
This arrangement is so good. Kudos to everyone involved.
Never before have I wondered what The Seatbelts would sound like performing Nintendo music, but dang I got it right here. 10/10.
💯 Kind of like The Consouls are Yuji Ohno playing VGM ;)
3:12 was it a nokia music reference??? GENIUS kkkkkk Great arrangement, great solo, great video. Bravi!
It's like every sax player you bring in to play is there to give a master class in performance. I learn something new every time. Stellar job!
Oh that's why the entire country is flooding, y'all been recording.
Ahhhh nice!
Why am I tearing up from this?!
This sounds like a storm I want to get caught in! Absolutely amazing!
Also the 2014 and 2020 versions by The Consouls
I caught covid and missed you guys play at Magfest... broke my heart. Thanks for putting this out, made me feel like i was there, in a way. :)
Hopefully I'll get access to that set's footage too so you can still check it out!
My favorite musicians collabing with my other favorite musicians?
This is a dream come true!
Excellent Performance as always!!
Would love to hear a collab with my favourites The Consouls too
The fact every single one of your videos arnt at 500k is an atrocity, y'all deserve the moon ⚡️🌟💚💚
This is so amazing that it genuinely makes me emotional
Heard the preview to this at the last concert they played in Miami, fantastic to say the least, and they once again have outdone themselves
8BBB + Patrick is just as good as I'd hoped it would be.
Ho
Leeeeeeee
Crap dude
This one got me speechless, what a way to start the new album era.. I just loved this song guys, you delivered
May I also recommend The Consouls as the perfect combo of VGM and jazz? They do banger versions of everything and covered this tune in 2020 and 2014.
Thanks. I’ll check’em out.
This arrangement is crazy good; you all did a wonderful job here! Can't wait for the rest of the album!
that "yes or no" quote :O
i mean "yes and no" xD
That's one of the smoothest sax tones I've heard =O .
That's Pat. His performances with Emmet Cohen are also phenomenal and of course all the J-Music Ensemble repertoire plus guesting for The Consouls

I heard you guys play this in Miami, hearing this again makes me really happy. Absolutely incredible performance. (Btw that drop at 0:32 is beyond amazing)
I see this as confirmation that the Song of Storms sounds good under any and all circumstances.
Been waiting a long time for this collab, and it was well worth it! Patrick Bartley is a god and y'all knocked the arrangement out of the park, like always!
How did I not see this sooner?? I love Pat's version of Song of Storms from years ago and this big band take on it is just as enjoyable!
Waw, you did it. The arrangement that rules them all. It's amazing, thank you!
Why is this gem not on Spotify yet?! Simply stunning! I am new to the game tune jazz canon but this is Hope Incarnated for jazz. Phenomenal arrangement, execution and solo.
It is! Game changer album from 8 bit band
This just goes in so hard. Way to get back into it after MagFest!!!
Wow!!
Coming back to this masterpiece a year later, I'm wowed every time. Just the way it builds up energy gets me bobbing in my chair. Phenomenal work!
I didn't know this was missing from my life, but I'm glad it's here
I heard this at your miami show and i've been anticipating the video for this and not only is it hear you got Patrick Bartley to do the solo this is the best day of my life. Album 4 gonna be insane
Incredible! You are insanely talented, you & everyone else in that room. The gorons playing🎺🎺🎺 at the bottom made me geek
YOU'RE BACK!!!!!! This was so GOOD!! So cool to see Bartley here. I love this band's sound and I love this band -- it brings me so much happiness whenever you upload more! Looking forward to seeing yet more jazz wonders from you all soon!!
This was the track I wanted the most from you. You delivered, it's awesome!
Fantastic as always. I really enjoy these little animations too!
There's been a lot percolating and I was out of NYC for a verrrrry long time last year on a gig so things got pushed back a bit but we're here now!
This song so good my entire living room flooded from a magical rain 👍
Saw this piece at MAGFest, amazing work!
There's something just so special about just drum and sax going off. Actually I feel the same way when it's just the piano and the drums going off but yeah... so lovely and on fire!
Fantastic! It was amazing to see this live last month, and it's so cool to finally hear the studio recording.
Charlie Rosen -Arranger. Serious ass-kicking charts, bro! Lovely solos as well.
They took this solemn sounding song that made you feel like you were standing alone in a torrential downpour at peace with yourself and turned into this fun flighty number where you are dancing in that downpour feeling on top of the world!
I cried. That was amazing. :)
You guys NEED to do a “Great Fairy Fountain” video. PLEEEEEEEEASE MEAKE IT HAPPEN. It would be amazing!!! Incredible video. Always dropping bangers!!
This is so beautiful. And now it's raining
Incredible! Such an underrated track! If only they released the sheet music!
yes yes its finaly here. i have been waiting for this so long
My favourite melody from the franchise, great job!
Oh hey Pat playing Song of Storms reminds me of his solo in a band he was in forever ago called the Jon Hatamiya Big Band, in the song Pep Pep
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT! He also quoted the Song of Storms melody with the exact same phrasing as this arrangement so there's that connection.
Nice, glad to see you all back!
Aw hell yeah, been waiting for this one for a while 😊
I was looking for an 8 bit version of the Song of Storms when I found this, and I'm not disappointed.
The kind of stuff to make Windmill Watchers Furious. AMAZIN
I must say, listening to yall is always bananas, but you guys really knocked it out of the park with this one.
I just love the way they sneaked Wayne Shorter's Yes or No at 4:22
This deserve to be on the top of UA-cam!
Pat’s playing is literally storming throughout the entire song
Woooo!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Pat is an absolute giant
YOU GUYS DID MY FAVORITE SONG FROM ZELDA, EXCELLENT ARRANGEMENTS HERE
How the HELL did I miss this upload for 6 months??? HOW
Awesome arrangement! Pat is a monster!
I love this! The sax + drum breakdown-whaaat?? So great!!
Also great sax in The COnsouls 2020 and 2014 versions
Special shout out to your backing Gorons.
Those folks know how to rock.
This arrangement was amazing! All of you did great! Hope you guys had a happy New years!
Dream collaboration and you guys all killed it! 😍
I'm also dreaming of a collab between The Consouls and 8BBB - a la Snarky Puppy and Metrople Orkest. Their collab with Pat (and others) was brilliant.
I heard this tune for the first time at your recent concert at Berklee, it's so incredible! Another unique adaptation of an ocarina melody! I also appreciate the Majora's Mask animation, it breaks up the over-saturation of Ocarina of Time in your Zelda library. Not that it's not all great, I just wish I could see other Zelda games represented
couldn't have picked a better song for your "return", what a jam!
You guys are incredible. Great job as always!
I love when you do music from N64 games. This is right behind the Goemon song you did in my books. Love it
