I used to walk my dog in a nature preserve & had coyotes try to lure him away, really creepy! I hope you can eliminate the threat! Joe’s a tough guy to be able to get away 🥰

We have been putting cages around our zucchini for a few years. They have been doing better. Trim off the bottom leaves and keep them going up off the ground. The bugs haven't bothered as bad. Your garden looks nice Gary. We haven't even been in the garden. Keeps raining. Glasses look great Mazie. That is a nice clinic. Sorry to see the cattle leave, but I understand your thinking. The new little ram looks like a good one. Thanks for sharing

Gary in the video you can see another pair of eyes going from left to right while you were talking to the coyote that was facing you. They were probably trying to ambush JoJo ❤ good thing you came out when you did. Too bad Cassie couldn't get a shot off.

Lester's father in Texas, Hanging with Paw Paw has all his cucumbers growing up on cattle panels. He was picking them yesterday morning. Hidden Heights does also. There are others also.
We do cattle panels for cucumbers also. Just not time yet for that.

I’ve never tried squash cages, so it will be interesting to watch that progress. But, yes, cardboard works very well! I staked them down with landscape stakes, like the 4” long ones. My garden was in Wyoming and we don’t get as much rain as Oklahoma, but I think they will work well for you as well. Nice to see Cassie and Brandon, all the kids. Thanks for sharing! ❤❤❤

Y’all are great parents , Happy Mothers Day to Cassie, you are a great Mother. So happy Mazzie has relationship with Bio grandfather. We have adopted son that is grown now, he has always had relationship with Maternal Bio Grandparents , 7:16 Aunt and cousins. We felt it was important and made him have a more fulfilled childhood. He has told us he is thankful.
I have an adopted daughter and I agree with you. No child can have too many people to love them.

You’re right, the plain chicks are hens and the colorful ones are roosters and I counted at least 4 roosters. They were running around so fast that I couldn’t see all of them.
Ransom is a go getter. It’s a lot of fun watching him growing up.

I live in Maine and we have high rate of rabies here. When my indoor cat got out overnight and she was weak I took her to vets. They gave her a booster for rabies even though she had just had one 2 months before and I had to quarantine her for 14 days in a separate room in our house and I was the only one allowed to give her food and water. Luckily she was ok after a week, but still had to stay in quarantine u nail the 14 days were up. I sure hope and pray JoJo will be ok. That was really scary when my cat went through it.
Hope and pray that JoJo is feeling better soon! Really enjoyed your video. As y'all were feeding the little ram it brought back memories of feeding the baby calves on the dairy. I had to wear glasses from the time I was in kindergarten so I know it is hard to find ones you like. Looks like Mazzy found an awesome pair of glasses-they are very flattering 💕. Gary and Cassie, all your children are such well rounded individuals and little bear is so fortunate to be with you for however long he remains with you.

Great job Mazzy, beautiful glasses.
We always used to put cardboard around the base of our trees and cover them with top soil and/or mulch. It really keeps the weeds from growing deep. You will get a few on top but they are easy to pull because the roots are shallow. Put the cardboard down, water it, top with top soil or mulch, enjoy your garden.

I was raised in Southeastern Arkansas. My dad and his friends hunted coyotes. They kept the numbers down, so I assume to help protect other wildlife and domestic animals.
Just before tuning in to this, I was thinking about trying a tomato cage on my squash! I was like "no way!" when I heard you say that. I have had difficulty just using stakes for that, so cages might work better. Also excellent timing on the investing tool. Thanks so much!

The young chicks of Ransoms, with the white dots on the base of their tails are the Roos. That’s how how we can tell when we have babies hatch out with our barnyard breeds
