Stephanie 〰️ my daughter, was diagnosed with autism after a long drawn-out procedure. After she was diagnosed with seizures, learning disabilities, and speech delayed, hearing voices, stomach problems, diabetes later before high school and very flat feet and had surgery a couple of tears ago. It sounds terrible, but most of those go with autism. My world was crushed with no one to talk to. Now people are better about it. My daughter is 35 years old now and is the sweetest person. They are truthfull and when she says she loves you she means it❤❤. Your futture is very bright with him. Just be glad he likes chickens❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏😉🐾

My son has cerebral palsy. The doctor was alarmed that he was walking on tip toe when he was 3. They sent us to a neurologist who had play things set up to see how his hand eye coordination and other methods of assessing him. When the doctor was done, he told us our son has cerebral palsy. Throughout my son's schooling I had to really advocate to get him the help he needed to do his work. We found some true angels who worked hard with him for his success! He's now 39, lives in France, speaks french fluently and has a great life. Kayson will too. He already is! ❤

Kayson is a resilient little guy and I’m sure with the love, support and care from you and Brandon, he will be fine and have a happy, fulfilling life. Don’t be hard on yourself as a mom thinking about what you may or may not have done while pregnant. It serves no purpose other than upsetting you. Put that behind you and do the best you can in caring for Kayson. You’re a good mom. All of us can see that. You dote on your kids. Kayson will grow up to be the best crazy chicken farmer imaginable.

I know it is hard to accept a diagnosis, but when I see how active your son is I feel you made the right choice to move to the country as he is active and has lots of room to run and play. Encourage that going forward, sitting like come children do playing video games all their free time is not good for people with muscle issues. Your family really has had a lot of stress.

I know you’re probably got so many comments already but I want to reassure you that your doctor is right as long as your son gets the physical therapy that he needs and all the things you’re already doing he will be Ok. The physical damage cerebral palsy caused has already been done, but you can give him all the things that he needs to thrive and to stay strong exactly what he’s doing now with the added PT. Climbing up hills stretches out those calf muscles Bending and reaching in those chicken coops, your farm is like an occupational therapist dream. I’ve been following your channel for the last couple of years and I have seen your little guy progress so much. His speech is 100 times better for example. With a diagnosis of CP, physical therapist and occupational therapist and speech pathologist can set up a game plan for him where they will all work together. Why do I know this? I live with a progressive neurological disorder and I also worked with children with disabilities. I truly believe you do not need to fear about him needing a wheelchair or anything like that - you’re on the right path.

Hi Stephanie, I am glad that you are finding out things while Kayson is young so you can be proactive about his therapy. I am going on 62 and only found out a couple of weeks ago that I have one leg that is a few millimeters shorter than the other that is causing a slight curvature in my lower spine. The chiropractor told me I should have been wearing a lift in my shoe my entire life! At least I now know and am working on stretching and strengthening my lower back and leg muscles. I have also started getting back to doing yoga. I used to do it all the time, but have slacked off the last few years. It is wonderful for stretching and strengthening joints and muscles. 💖💖💖

Stephanie, I used to babysit a little boy who had Cerebral Palsy, Apraxia and he had suffered a stroke while in the womb. This little boy could not talk and was in OP/PT AND speech therapy. He now talks, not always plain but we can understand what he is trying to say. His stroke affected his right side. He never let it get him down or get down on himself. He works hard just like Karson does. When I first saw Karson, I thought he had basically the same thing as the little boy I used to babysit him. He is a strong young man. Karson will be okay and always keep encouraging him to do his best. As a parent it is devastating to hear what the doctor had to say. You are Karson’s advocate. Fight for him to get the best education that is possible for him. I wish you the best and Kayson too.

The more active you can keep Kayson the better, he will be fine. He loves his chickens, you are giving him a farm to grow up on which will keep him strong. The more exercise you can give him the better to keep his legs strong. My nephew has CP, he had lots of therapy as a child, now is a teacher, father of twins and a wonderful man. His CP shows mainly in his legs, he does lurch when he walks, but has an internal pump that feeds him medication that helps a lot. He does not let it stop him at all. His mother was his advocate in school when they kept trying to treat him as handicapped, she insisted they treat him like all the other kids. Yes he did get extra help in speech and it worked. Stay strong

Kayson is going to be fine. You are on top of all of his issues and there are treatments available. Yes, if he gets into a daily routine at home to exercise his muscles and is mindful of his posture he will minimize his pain and any mobility issues. In his favor he is a happy boy with plenty of interests (chickens!!!) and good siblings to help him grow, learn, and thrive.

Ahh Stephanie you embarrassed him!🙂. You get some good news and then some discouraging news! But with the way he is so active maybe all the exercise wii help! His speech is getting better all the time and he does well with taking care of his animals which shows his cognitive skills are good and he can build on that. My niece has cerebral palsy and microsyphalic from birth. She cannot walk, has poor hand control and speech problems but… she made it through regular school, (yes with lots of help) and now lives pretty much on her own, and can even drive with a special van. Kayson is strong, smart, and will work hard to achieve his own goals! Many prayers for his continued progress! God Blessall of you!

With his obvious intelligence and energy he will overcome this and so will you!!! I have belief he will. I think it is a duck that Cog Hill puts in with their chickens. Don't think it is a goose cause it is not noisy enough!

So sorry to hear about your son’s diagnosis. I know you are such a loving supportive family and God will see you through it. I love how he loves and knows so much about his chickens.

Stephanie, I have 3 godchildren and they are challenged. First off, the kids are born to 2 sisters, one is a 20 yr old boy who is autistic, the other 2 are siblings-all 3 are first cousins. The others are an almost 15 yr old girl, born with a stunted right arm and incomplete hand and her 7 yr old brother who is autistic.
My goddaughter was diagnosed at 16 weeks gestation, the doctors discovered the birth defect before she was born so we knew there would be issues. Her parents were devastated, of course, this was their 1st child and she would have challenges. I told them God has special little spirits that need special parents who could help that child become the very best version of themselves and it would be our job to give her a 'normal' life. Thats exactly what we have done, with all 3 kids. They all have life-long challenges but, weve taught them not to give in to their challenges and ignore people who bully or try to ridicule them. They are to hold their heads high and be the best they can be!❤

It looks like your chicken pens could use straw or cut grass or weeds to scratch on rather than just dirt. They would stay in the pens better if they have work to do for you. If you get a chance look at Hollar Homestead, I think they just had their 6th child. He keeps the chickens busy making or scratch compost for them constantly. They make the family beautiful compost to use in their gardens. They have had to work hard to build soil that produced wonderful crops. They have a chipper so use wood chips, cow manure, grass trimmings, weeds, scrap food, anything the chickens would scratch & turn into compost. They made a circle with chicken fence & dumped all the extra goodies inside the circle & the chickend stired & scratched it for bugs. Once it was all spread out & foot deep they moved it to the compost pile to cook the rest & turn it as needed for temp sake. Check them out. I think they are in the Carolina mts.

I am sorry that Kayson has so much wrong but he is a strong young man and I feel he will come out of this in a very good way I will say some prayers for him. He has quite a good outlook on life and I feel if he continues to focus on his chickens that will help him cope. Keep on giving that cute cheeky smile he has. God bless you xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Being on the farm he plays and he keeps on going. Let him be Kayson. You know you are blessed. Having the farm has really brought out a joyful young man. He rides his bike and runs and keeps up with his older brother. And what a great older brother he has. He's wonderful with him. That will carry through the years ahead. You guys are doing everything you can. You are opening a new wild for him. The chickens he loves. He's opening up and talking more now than in the beginning. Your doing all the extras. Your treating him as a child with no disabilities. Your letting him be Kayson. Love you guys, God bless you

Praying for Kayson. I had a friend that had a daughter who had a mild stroke at birth and they did Botox shots that helped with the tightness in her muscles.

If you're going to add a loft to the barn, think in the back of your minds about eventually adding a winch or lift system.

Thank you for being so open about what is going on with Cason. We know a young woman who had cerebral palsy from birth and couldn’t walk six feet without falling but they worked with her until her legs got stronger and she grew some more. We even shared our swimming pool for her to have water therapy for years. Today she is as normal as anyone and has two children. Cason May be able to outgrow his disability over time and and we pray that he does. Love your sweet family and enjoy keeping up with y’all.
