Most people don’t understand the purpose of live stock, guardian dogs but the way you honored JoJo the way you love him and cared for him shows that he was not only a guard dog, but a family pet thank you Gary and Cassiefor being good people
My first Border Collie was an amazing dog. She would herd all my animals, but she didn’t run the animals but she would direct and push them to me or put them in their pen. She would nip them if they refused to mind her. She knew the best way to get them to mind her. My second Border Collie had been rescued from a pet mill and had been abused. She had a lot of herding instinct. She was a wonderful therapy dog. My first Border Collie saved me from a bull. I went in to feed my horse, the bull, chickens, and goats. The bull charged me, my dog jumped against the gate and grabbed the bull by the nose and didn’t let go until the bull was far enough away that I was sate. The dog I have now is half Blue Healer and half Catahoula. She protects my chickens. She also herds, but will not quit and she chases the. She would be an excellent dog if I knew how to train her. She doesn’t roam at all. My name is Starlene, I get called Darlene, Sharlene, Charlene, really irritates me. My first name is Billie. I get mad l addressed to Mr. Billie Kalinski.
Thank you for going horizontally. I don't think some I watch realise they cut each other off or show you they're ceiling. Lol 🤣 Yes, Gary, those are barn swallows. They can make you dip & dodge. They're quick, too. 😅
Thanks for the live today. Its always fun catching up. Hopefully you get those coyotes. 🙏 The baby ram is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing some of his babies. Its an exciting time in Little Bear development. Enjoy him as long as you can 🙏 Your family is a blessing. Thanks again for sharing. Catch you again soon.
It’s still sad to believe JoJo is gone. JoJo gave his life protecting your farm. You definitely need a shirt with JoJos picture on it. ❤🐾 Go get all the coyotes!!!! Pew Pew bye coyotes.
My grandfather told me years ago that a 1 coyote will lure a dog away then other coyotes are waiting for it. It's like they are setting up a trap for it.
Hello guys hey Cassie, I could use a couple prayers I fell bringing in the groceries and broke my hand into places. I don’t know if I need surgery but I have to see the ortho specialist next week.😮😮😮😮
My daughter had a Border Collie given to her when the puppy was 8 weeks old. She started working cows on the dairy farm I was working on when she was about 10 to 12 weeks old. After the cows were in the holding pen, she would bark again. Love you'll stay safe, and God bless. Hope you'll have a great time on vacation. Dan 🇺🇸
Bought the power backup you recommended charged it up and ready to go hope it works good we are both handicapped. I did the discount with no problem I am on oxygen 24 hours a day and we both have power chairs and that's what we bought it for. Feel a little safer now and we both love your videos every one of them keep them coming.
Linda from Indiana. So sorry about poor lil jojo I’m glad your not doing the up n down version thank you I like the long versions. Love your videos. You got some sweet kids and thank you for doing foster care ❤
I had a Anatolian crossed with a Red Heeler. He was very protective of family, animals, and property. He kept the coyotes at bay, the coyotes would not come near that dog, other dogs would not come in the yard either, yet, Rusty was very gentle with people. The best guard dog I ever had, was a German Shepherd crossed with a boxer, but was strictly for guarding your family and property.
We loss a shot tail cat 🐱 to a pack of dogs. People tend to dump their dogs in the country 😢but as they wander they go scavenging for themselves they go back to their natural instincts. People don’t realize people in the countryside can’t take in all the animals that people abandon. We had a Border Collie. She was pure bread but she came from a Humane Society. Someone that bred her thought she had hip problems so they gave her up. She was a great dog! The kids were middle school age and it worked out perfectly for her to grow with the kids. Our one daughter did track and cross country and Sadie loved running with her. Sadie stayed in her lane at the track. Sadie loved played ball with the kids. They toss a ball in the air and she would jump for it as high as our ceiling fan. We had an acre and a half, with a pool. When the kids would swim she thought she had to save them. She grab their wrist and drag them to the edge of the pool. Sadie lived till almost seventeen years old. She was no longer eating and walking was very difficult. So we had to put her down. The kids absolutely loved her and my husband and I as well. We had several good dogs throughout. One was a Saint Bernard and Border Collie mix. We had him before Sadie.
It was starting while I still attended my grade school but got bad after I graduated: Dog were packing up and running the grade school play ground and ball field. With time, they were using thier prey instincts and showing hunting behaviors on said play ground; particularly during school hours. Turns out they were pretty much all pets that had homes in the surrounding neighborhoods. Many had fenced back yards and most managed to get behind by the time kids got home from school. During the day however, they left thier back yards, met up, and went roaming looking for adventure together. We are talking dogs of every size except the St Bernard who most often stayed home; all too often in the front yard rather the fenced back yard.
My Gypsy-girl was also same as JoJo Lab & Border Collie, absolutely was a working dog... Loyal, Protective & Trusting. I do not believe she would have ever of been to her fullest If I had not of been blessed at the time to have had a good-sized fully fenced property in city.... I don't think she would have done as well... I allowed her to be a working dog. I love Border Collies too. (My girl did herd my cats lol) She only was on our property and no herds was nearby. She lived to please... She too kept land cleared... She was also a great trip companion.... What a bonus package for a rescue/ 🦮 Yes hours and hours of training... Which I happen to be able to spend that time ... i worked with her daily. Huskys BOLT!
Hey crazy chicken lady, this crazy chicken lady is getting some chicken very soon. I injured myself years ago and had to find homes for my few hens because I couldn’t take care of them. I’m only getting around 6 but I can’t wait. I’m 61 and almost all my adult life I’ve had a few chickens so it’s been weird not having any.
Yes I like the long across version! That way we get to see more than 1-2 people. I really would love to have 3-4 of Benjamin. Spending time with them will make you so happy 😊. 🙏 For safe travels to vacation & back home 🙏 Cant wait to see some pictures. We all miss Jojo - but i think Gary does the most. He was with Gary on his runs & feeding the animals. GOD Bless you Gary 💟 Love, Hugs & Blessings 🙏🙏🌹 Love 🌻 from Apex NC 💜
I live in a small development in rural WV and have been warned to watch my little dogs outside (in fenced in yard) because of coyotes. So they never go out without me standing on the steps.
I worked at our county shelter, Maricopa County AC&C, and helped a few farm/ranches, that would rescue k9's from the euthanasia list for the purpose of training them, and then placing them with their forever farm/ranch. It was actually a pilot program at the time, but now we have many rescue groups for a lot of different types of working k9's.
I’m partial to great Pyrenes. Ours has always been so loving to our family. We never had opportunity to see how she was as a LGD but in all my 70 years she was the most loving, sweetest companion to all of us
Kevin at hidden height farms lgd just had puppies and they sold all but one maybe they'll breed again and you could get one of them Anatolia Shepard big dogs hate coyotes
Coyotes often travel in pairs and packs. I live in Corpus Christi in town and we've had them get into our yard. My brother was working in his yard in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and he looked up and saw a coyote in his yard only 20 feet away from him. He had a garden hoe in his hand so he was ready to swing. he called the game warden and the police. Just that evening he saw in the news where a police officer dispatched one in another person's back yard. ANother was nearby and they were also able to dispatch that one. Both had signs of rabies and drooling. we call the police right away. Have seen them walking down the street.
So sorry y'all lost JoJo. He was a precious family member, and a truly wonderful LGD. I have family that have had to 'dispatch' coyotes cause they was tryin to get on their farm and get their animals. Some folks don't understand about dispatchin coyotes, or possums, or whatever. But some folks think the predators shouldn't be 'dispatched'. Anyway, I said to some folks a few days ago, I won't say who, but I just commented that I was glad that they was able to get them varmints, (a possum and coyote), and my comment got deleted. Guess I said it wrong or somethin; maybe they didn't understand me sayin 'varmints'. Well anyways, I'm just happy when I see folks is able to get rid of them predators. God bless y'all, Gary and Cassie.❤
From my experience the best dogs I've ever had, even from my childhood were the strays we took in or some mixed breed my dad brought home. They were very protective, loving and happy to have a nice warm house to live in. Back then they could roam as long as they were with us and we had lots of places to play. Today its impossible because of traffic on that road plus neighbors just aren't the same type of people.
Hey Folks, We have coyotes big time here in Maine. There is a large unmowed pasture down from us that the deer and turkeys use year round. Sorry your pup got tagged by them. Love the night scope we use...and the results have been outstanding taking them out. It works great on raccoons and skunks in the garden...distance is your friend for those two critters. Cheers from Maine.👍🥛🍪
Owning German Shepherd Dogs, I do live in the city. The difference is that I use a power wheelchair so I take my dog on long runs/walks plus they work as my service dog so they go everywhere with me. They are both mentally and physically stimulated which takes care of any excess energy. Subsequently they are able to live in a small apartment, not something everyone is able to do though. You will find a dog that fits your needs, so sorry about JoJo. ❤
Happy Friday Walker Farm Fam 🚜 ❤Happy summer ☀️ Safe travels, vacations are always fun...looking forward to seeing more pictures 📸 and videos 📹 Both new additions to your farm are darling ❤Much love from Toledo OH
The kelpie are coming here in Australia. They are very energetic dogs, good with families and many farmers have them just need training. Great Danes are beautiful big goofballs. My dad had 3 over the years, their size scares people but they need space. One would try to sit on my dad’s lap while on the sofa.
We have 4 white Sheppards, the male is 113lbs. at 14 mo. The girls are 74-82lbs. Great dogs we only have 5 acres and the are homebodies. Our labs loved to run but these guys are very loving, and hang around the house unless I walk the on the paths in the woods.
Sad to hear about JoJo. Sorry for your loss of your fur friend. 🙏🙈💔 enjoy your deserved vacation. I live in Utah and we have some beautiful scenery and places to visit. May Jesus Christ be with you and the family. Be safe and healthy.
Drive-ins were the best. Great family time growing up. As teenagers it was inexpensive entertainment. There is a drive in about 45 minutes from where I live.
I have a Border Collie/Jack Russell mix. No one pulls in my driveway without her knowledge. She is only 48 lbs but barks like she’s bigger. She has become very protective since my husband passes away 4 years ago.
Best dog I ever had, was a farm dog. Part Blue Heeler and part Shiba Inu. About a 45-55 pound dog, but gentle as could be. (Blue heeler dad, jumped a fence and mated with a Sheba Inu, I got one of the pups when it was weaned) Kept watch over my daughter and her friends, when they were in the area. Never bothered the horses or even the cats. Hell, one of the farm cats slept next to or on him. But if a stranger set foot on our land he was loud and aggressive. Until I called him off. Easy to train, smart animal.
My mom lost 3 cats to Coyotes, never a pack of dogs. Another cat was poled on top of a telephone pole. The other 3 to bobcats & Coyotes. Never to pack dogs. Cats are to smart, & can climb
growing up we had the best dog ever Joe...just showed up one day and never left...followed us kids everywhere, there were 3 of us, out in the country...have no idea what kind he was but he was loved very much....i fell so dad about JoJo....he was such a lovable baby doll and you could tell he loved you all very much...pray you find another or another finds you
Hello Casey I think you are the sweetest person the kids are great love watching Ranson play ball and he is a worker in the yard Gary you are awesome to
JoJo played the roll he lived for. He was happy. Yes adoption is strict it ridiculous. I got 2 dogs right now I'll give you if they don't keep digging up our cataba worms and eating them. That's not the bad part that is the bubble gut they so kindly share after. Gotta love them
51:24 when you go to meet another dog take Shelby with you see if they pick each other that will be your best dog. Good luck keep your videos going give this old man something to do. Love you guys.
Lester had to move Sadie to the JL Ranch. And she has a lot of property to protect with Lester’s longhorns. She has a job to do but still protects the neighbors property as well. Sadie is a good dog too! 😊❤
We have a coyote distress call (the old wooden kind) that stops them in their tracks (and our dogs) - works every time. Haven't had a problem since using it.
That coyote sound is just eerie to me!! They will get in our front yard no lie! And just fight.. but we hear them before they all meet up and at least twice a year( always a full moon) they show up right here. We have guys that come out to hunt them, I allow them on our property.
My son used to live on a farm and had animals. So he got a great Pyrenees and he would sleep all day and guard all night. Then he moved into town. Tundra had to stay in a fenced in back yard and couldn't prowl around at night. Even though he is an older dog now. He wants to guard. So he started chewing the wooden fence up to get out of the yard too roam. So this breed needs to roam a large area. Hard to keep them in the yard. Dutch's MoJo roams at night and sleeps all day.
I can remember way back when, there was a bounty on Coyotes. You would also drive down the road and see them hanging on the fence posts. It is no different than protecting your home from intruders. You wouldn't just leave the front door open for them. Chill out people, you gotta do what ya gotta do.
You’ve had great dogs and that’s a reflection of your family, they are so dedicated. As you spoke about taking your time to find another dog, I couldn’t help but get the giggles thinking about when Shelby joined you and all the guessing that went on about what her breed was. 😂🤣 Do you have issues out there with coyotes that have bred with stray dogs? My vet refers to them as dogotes and they are not scared of humans. We have this issue in our city and they will surround you if there’s 3 or more of them travelling together. Love your videos and I look forward to hearing about your holidays. Stay safe Walker family and enjoy your trip away. ❤❤
When we had our farm on the river in Southern Maryland, one of our first dogs was a black lab. Wonderful dog. Got to 105 pounds and looked very formidable. However, he was the deepest sleeper as well as super friendly. He needed one of the smaller dogs (our toy poodle) to wake him up. When someone came up our mile long driveway, he greeted them with a wagging tail. He never met a stranger he didn’t like. He was a sweetheart, but terrified of being indoors. Our best hunter was a toy poodle. She would see a rabbit across the field and make a beeline for it. That 8 pound dog would hit a rabbit in the back of the neck and flip it up and over. She got it long before our beagle picked up the scent and tracked it across the field. We raised Bichons and Maltese. My aunt could no longer keep her city raised 10 year old Sheltie and I took Ginger who had never been around any farms or small animals. We would let all our Bichons and Maltese out along with Ginger. It was so funny to watch her try to herd all the puppies and adult dogs back to the house. Amazing instinctual behavior. I would not recommend any of these dogs for farm work even though they were all wonderful family pets.
Most people don’t understand the purpose of live stock, guardian dogs but the way you honored JoJo the way you love him and cared for him shows that he was not only a guard dog, but a family pet thank you Gary and Cassiefor being good people
He was both
Amen. Sorry about JoJo. We will miss him. My prayers are with you and the whole family. Get those predators!

You’re absolutely right about how we prefer our videos displayed!!❤❤
Should have a t-shirt made with a picture of JoJo riding on back of 4 wheeler. Would love one.
I would pre order one. In honor of JoJo
I would buy a JoJo shirt. :-)
Some people don't understand the difference in working dogs versus just pets.
So glad Little Bear is progressing ❤❤❤with the tubes. Yahoo! 🎉🎉🎉

I believe your next dog will find you when your family’s ready. Have a safe summer holiday trip.

I like how you say it better ie; people

We had a Tibetan Spaniel that was a rescue dog. His breed was made to be a watch dog. He was a sweetheart, but was a very good guard/warch dog.

Great video most entertaining thanks. Chris from England
German shepherds are great with kids and are very trainable. We have several and loved them

JoJo played the roll he lived for. He was happy. Yes adoption is strict it ridiculous. I got 2 dogs right now I'll give you if they don't keep digging up our cataba worms and eating them. That's not the bad part that is the bubble gut they so kindly share after. Gotta love them
Your whole family is so delightful
Thank you for answering about little beat.
51:24 when you go to meet another dog take Shelby with you see if they pick each other that will be your best dog. Good luck keep your videos going give this old man something to do. Love you guys.
Any lab mix are a protective breed. We had golden lab female and she was wonderful with small kids and would have given her life for us.
Lester had to move Sadie to the JL Ranch. And she has a lot of property to protect with Lester’s longhorns. She has a job to do but still protects the neighbors property as well. Sadie is a good dog too! 😊❤
Benjamin is precious - love landscape videos the best.
We have a coyote distress call (the old wooden kind) that stops them in their tracks (and our dogs) - works every time. Haven't had a problem since using it.
The kids are growing so much! Yay! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Sorry for your loss 😞 have time to process your thoughts and grief.
I hope everybody enjoys a vacation.
Praying for your family
Hi guys love watching you your such a wonderful christin family God bless from Kentucky
Never had one but have heard that the blue healers are ausome!!!
That coyote sound is just eerie to me!! They will get in our front yard no lie! And just fight.. but we hear them before they all meet up and at least twice a year( always a full moon) they show up right here. We have guys that come out to hunt them, I allow them on our property.
A healer mix, a lab mix or border collie are fantastic breeds.
Have a great vacation 😊 Benjamin is adorable 😊😊
I love watching Barn Swallows but they create a mess!
I hope you get all of your coyotes and any other predator on your property!
❤🙏
Happy safe vacation!! I like the way you do your videos. I have a hard time with the ones that do them the other way.
Awesome enjoyed the video !
Thank you for horizontal!!
I can remember way back when, there was a bounty on Coyotes. You would also drive down the road and see them hanging on the fence posts. It is no different than protecting your home from intruders. You wouldn't just leave the front door open for them. Chill out people, you gotta do what ya gotta do.
Love the collie dogs
Mojo looks like a Rotty pit boardicollie mix
We have an inside miniature aust. Shep. and all I can say is she is a Diva!!!! Hahahaha
Love your family!!!❤❤❤
Benjamin is so cute , I love him
