Absolutely gorgeous wheels, and I am typically a chrome or polished aluminum only guy. The graphics combined with the red candy, prepped and handled so well, were masterfully conceived and implemented. That candy took it over the top, and is the primary reason for MY fixation. Well done.
W-I-C-K--E-D is exactly how very insane these wheels look !!! Wish your shop was closer to my home in the USA!! REALLY enjoyed watching an artist working on a LIVERY for a Wicked looking vehicle !! Thank you 4 sharing!!
Hey man! Should respray the whole car a really dark metallic grey with a tiny bit of red fleck in it? Would suit the read theme and look baller as hell
i bought a trial rim to paint did all your instructions i did gloss black and a clear coat with flake mixed into it all aerosol can based. came out alright for my 1st paint job :D thanks for the tips!
How long should you wait to apply base after primer? Hydro dip after base? And clear after hydro dipping? I can’t find anything on the internet that explains in detail. Love your vids, keep uploading!
I have to ask how long does the paint last on those Wheels. That was one of the sickest combos I ever seen that's the candy red that I'm looking to put on my Corvette. I want my wheels in a candy red and black.
How did he make the red see through? What did he mix it with? I’m new at this. But seems like the cherry red under my dip is pink so I’d like to put a red over the dip like he did
vishal95 it was painted then dipped. So it was silver basecoat. Then dipped. Then candy red which is see through like a tint. Then 2k clear coated. The dip must go on fresh basecoat otherwise it won't stick.
you dont need to only use the basecooat paints the suppliers sell? you can use any good paint that has good adhesion to the part. I want to use Cerakote as a base coat. Any experience with this paint with hydrodipping? Thanks
hi sir..can you plz tell all the mixtures that you use..im inspired in all your work..but i have a problem with the mixtures u mix..example the chemicals you mix with your candy..thanks.. plus do you have a facebook account facebook page..can i have it so i can ask you more about what the thingsi wanna learn from you in painting..
You need a p. a. p. r. ventilator system, it forces cool air into your air/face mask, as well as your suit, this system is usually used when removing asbestos, & possibly other hazmat operations, & how do you know what mixing ratio to mix all paints & aditives, your a badass painter, i love your attitude
NIIIICE. Ok, so how do I get this effect on chrome engine casings on a motorbike? I'd need something heat resistant to at least 140 degrees I guess. Would hydrographics work on chrome, and could you then candy coat that?
I think the thin spoke design of the wheel really suites the skull dip, makes you have to have a proper look to see that a pattern is actually a design👍
Dave, when spraying a wheel with spokes, what is the correct order to apply the paint? by that I mend do you do the lengths of the spokes first and then the inner joins at the hub then the outer joins at the rim? (hope the made sense!) or something different entirely? cheers.
Watching the rest of this my answer would be no bc u have to paint an clearcoat the top of ur dip im starting to powder coat things an also wanna do powder coating an dipping hydrographics trying to find a place to set up this week i can easily get all the tools an build my own dipping tubs
They look great but I wouldn’t recommend dipping over silver. I would have sprayed on the candy in binder and then hydro dipped and cleared. Activator shifts silver paint very easily. Glad they came out great. Lots of work.
could you could also apply the colour after the primer as a base colour then dip over the top for a similar effect? im asking because i saw 'mydipkit' a while ago where tou can buy rolls of hydro dipping film, and i wanted to base the console of my celica blue then dip a marble effect over the top.
So just a basic question. Is it OK to just paint base straight over etch primer? The reason I'm asking is that I've got a chemically stripped alloy I wanna paint, the septone brand etch primer I bought from SCA says it needs a "primer filler" applied about an hour after the etch primer - then paint base. Please help!
Thank you so much. Finally got an official answer on this topic. I had a real time find an answer on the net, next time I might just ask at a local paint store. Cheers
What if u powder coat them bake them then dip them i womder how it would come out if not any different would it atleast last longer with chipping from gravel from the road
how do you make your lettering on the tyre? I've made it on mine with 2K color. it was pretty good but after 1 mile it kind of broke. and after a carwash it was gone. what did you used for your tyres ?
I really like this job I like to start my can someone explain for me where can I and can someone explain to me where will I find the material name of those chemicals
when you said "lay down the pattern" how is the pattern layed down? I just see them spraying across the water. how do they get it to go into the pattern?
The pattern is in the film that is layed on the water. What they are spraying is called activator and it dissolves the film and leaves the paint on top of the water. When your part is put into the water, it "paints" it onto the surface. Think of it like oil on top of water.
Wow dude. Looks killer. Also love the big block lettering on the tires. Every car I ever doodled when I was a kid had tires with big block letters and a wing;-) and I'm old...
Time between candy and clear coat? Make your self, 4-electric wheel spinners, with a foot pedal speed control, that way you don't have to look for missed spots.
I love your videos Dave!! Im a big fan. I have painted a few cars and i paint all my projects at school, but I haven't ever really corrected anything. I have 2 questions, or maybe suggestions for video topics. I have a Jeep that is getting older, and the clear has faded and peeled. Can i sand down whats left and re clear? Or do you have to do the color again as well? I guess a better way to say it would be in general, how do YOU fix clear coat. Ive seen others but I'm curious what you would do personally. And my 2nd question, i found a really rare Audi i want to buy, but its a dark blue and i HATE the color. Its almost black. I was wondering if I could do a tinted clear as opposed to a full on color change as its not that different, but different enough to make me want to punch a baby. Anyway, great work, great channel, youre doing an awesome job and i look forward to your videos in the future!
Hey mate thanks for watching the vids. If you have faded clearcoat it can be buffed. I have a video about that. of its peeling you cand and recolor and clear but thats only a temporary solution.
and let me say I love to try new things and your videos have inpired me to try a thing. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to say "I painted my own stuff".
Sr i wants too buy all this product from you,are u selling these chemicals and spray painting. all of material, please send his prices. we wants to stat this business in my homeland, please guide me how do i establish this business..
Hey man! I subbed to your channel a long time ago because I found you in the comment section of Mcm. :) I sometimes find myself just scrolling through your videos and checking out your newer stuff. :) Its awesome to see how much effort you put in your videos and how you are not just marketing stuff. Also im so interested in paintjobs and all that stuff that it is just very satisfying so see all these fresh paints.. :) Keep it up man! Youre really sympathic! Dont really know if all that is correct english but I guess you will know what I mean. (We people from Germany tend to think that we cannot speak english so well.. Dont really know the reason for that.) Beautiful car by the way. :)
After 3yrs I'm still blown away by the job you did on these
Absolutely gorgeous wheels, and I am typically a chrome or polished aluminum only guy. The graphics combined with the red candy, prepped and handled so well, were masterfully conceived and implemented. That candy took it over the top, and is the primary reason for MY fixation. Well done.
The best paint channel on youtube, been watching around 4 years and the content is still fresh and exciting.
Thanks man. Appreciate it

THAT IS SICK!! I dont care about others saying they cant see the skulls. I saw them, and I love the matching candy red! Awsome job man!!!
i love the technique and pattern, but I think having thicker rims/spokes would have made the design more visible.
just my two cents.
I made a simple turntable to paint wheels. makes it much more efficient. THANKS for the vid.
Do you still have the wheels if so how did the job hold up? Im think of having some wheels done! Thank you for your responds!
Transparent painting. Yep I've done that.its been many mooms..but I love this hydro dipping.
So sweet.ty
SICK!!!!! Really, Really SICK. The large white letter tires are just BADASS! Great Job!!!
Hey man! Should respray the whole car a really dark metallic grey with a tiny bit of red fleck in it? Would suit the read theme and look baller as hell
bro you just blew my world 100% jealous of those rims doing this to my gen 1 tundra
i bought a trial rim to paint did all your instructions i did gloss black and a clear coat with flake mixed into it all aerosol can based. came out alright for my 1st paint job :D
thanks for the tips!
Just sitting here watching this.....all of the sudden I feel like I have to step outside and breathe some fresh air.
D Monty
I had to tell myself to breathe a couple of times.
D Monty hahahahhahah👍🏻
Looking good
I wondered if I was the only one holding my breath while he was spraying.
The process is clearly amazing and so is your car, like BadAss! I want your car. Good show!
I am in love with the way these rims turned out.
Those wheels came out killer. I like that spray mask. Also wish I had that paint booth! Thanks for sharing the process.
How long should you wait to apply base after primer? Hydro dip after base? And clear after hydro dipping? I can’t find anything on the internet that explains in detail.

Doooode that is soooooper dope great job man great video. Your Subie looks amazing. Came out perfecto! 💕
very nice, and only at Seven Hills.... might take a quick trip from Penrith.
I have to ask how long does the paint last on those Wheels. That was one of the sickest combos I ever seen that's the candy red that I'm looking to put on my Corvette. I want my wheels in a candy red and black.
I want to ask you about the dipping paint it uses a layer in the top of the water then you spray an activator
How did he make the red see through? What did he mix it with? I’m new at this. But seems like the cherry red under my dip is pink so I’d like to put a red over the dip like he did
Sick, I love it. Roughly, what are the costs to get a set of wheels done
looks great.. question however, would it be the same if it was painted and then dipped?
vishal95 it was painted then dipped. So it was silver basecoat. Then dipped. Then candy red which is see through like a tint. Then 2k clear coated. The dip must go on fresh basecoat otherwise it won't stick.
any reason why you dont put the dye in the clear?Makes it much easier to see the shade/coverage.
Is it not possible to just hydro dip it already candy red? Can you not buy candy red dip film?
What lug nuts do you have? They look sick!
i see you have a dirt bike in ur garage, I also ride, any ideas for doing something on the dirt bike ?
you dont need to only use the basecooat paints the suppliers sell? you can use any good paint that has good adhesion to the part. I want to use Cerakote as a base coat. Any experience with this paint with hydrodipping?
Thanks

I love your videos. I've been wanting to use spray techniques like this on my costumes for when I go to conventions!
May i ask if how the exact measurements to mix candy?
Planning to spray candy paint on my graphics paint...
NIIIICE. Ok, so how do I get this effect on chrome engine casings on a motorbike? I'd need something heat resistant to at least 140 degrees I guess. Would hydrographics work on chrome, and could you then candy coat that?
Great job. Quick Question.... Can this be done in a motorcycle wheel? also the painting job can be done in motor screws? Thanks a lot!
Don't the paint on the wheels get damaged when the tyre is put on?
Mine did when they used the metal bars to pry the tyre in to the alloy.
good vid. can i ask if you've ever dipped motorbike wheels? how do you get the pattern on bothsides of the spokes?
That rims looks awesome , better than the car
I think the thin spoke design of the wheel really suites the skull dip, makes you have to have a proper look to see that a pattern is actually a design👍
Did the tyre company manage to get the tyres on without damaging the face of the wheels?
Dave, when spraying a wheel with spokes, what is the correct order to apply the paint? by that I mend do you do the lengths of the spokes first and then the inner joins at the hub then the outer joins at the rim? (hope the made sense!) or something different entirely? cheers.
Hey mate. when I do it I paint all the insides first like inside the spokes. then I go around the outer rim. then I do the face .
+customspraymods Thanks for the reply Dave, I'll defo keep that in mind. Thanks again.
how do you do he white lettering on the tyres-how to vid maybe????? great vids keep um coming!
Watching the rest of this my answer would be no bc u have to paint an clearcoat the top of ur dip im starting to powder coat things an also wanna do powder coating an dipping hydrographics trying to find a place to set up this week i can easily get all the tools an build my own dipping tubs
What a great work !please what r u coating at last 4being shine
Why didn't you go with red base coat before hydrodip instead of candy red after hydrodip?
They look great but I wouldn’t recommend dipping over silver. I would have sprayed on the candy in binder and then hydro dipped and cleared. Activator shifts silver paint very easily. Glad they came out great. Lots of work.
Could you explain the diffrence between Silver and White Painting befor final Paint in a few Words?
could you could also apply the colour after the primer as a base colour then dip over the top for a similar effect?
im asking because i saw 'mydipkit' a while ago where tou can buy rolls of hydro dipping film, and i wanted to base the console of my celica blue then dip a marble effect over the top.

PROcrastiDRIVE SV most etch primer you can spray base straight over. Do it about 30min after its been sprayed
Thank you so much. Finally got an official answer on this topic. I had a real time find an answer on the net, next time I might just ask at a local paint store.
Cheers
they make lense covers for your respirator fullface shield. it will be shot pretty fast with out tearaways. didnt look like there were any one it.
What if u powder coat them bake them then dip them i womder how it would come out if not any different would it atleast last longer with chipping from gravel from the road

I really like this job I like to start my can someone explain for me where can I and can someone explain to me where will I find the material name of those chemicals
I wonder if it wouldn't have been clearer if it had a more powerfull red before the hydro dipping.
Exactly, the candy red then the hydrographic then clear coating
Was there any sanding done to the candy paint before the clear coat?
Amazing with the details thanks
No mate. No sanding between coats
Car looks damn fine man. good job on all of the jobs done so far on it
Did he do the inside of the wheel? I would have.
May I know how you guys make those design I mean how did u guys made that skull design in the water
when you said "lay down the pattern" how is the pattern layed down? I just see them spraying across the water. how do they get it to go into the pattern?
The pattern is in the film that is layed on the water. What they are spraying is called activator and it dissolves the film and leaves the paint on top of the water. When your part is put into the water, it "paints" it onto the surface. Think of it like oil on top of water.
Where do you buy the hydro dipping various graphics colors etc n how much
Nice job, what do you use to mix that candy red ?
Hi, what is the last article, which you sprayed to the rim?
waleed abdull 2 part clearcoat
What is the part number for the mask to buy, and how much do they cost
You complete the paint and fix the wheel on car , but video is very fast ? No perfect scene of the wheels on the video ?
now this is what I call progress, totally awesome
good advice - mix your candy with clear rather then a basecoat- trust me will take longer, but will be million times better
Wow dude. Looks killer. Also love the big block lettering on the tires. Every car I ever doodled when I was a kid had tires with big block letters and a wing;-) and I'm old...
It looks mint af
what product is used when you sprayed that candy that red color is mixed with what !!
How much does it cost to have all four of your tires dipped? Thanks in advance...
The rims looked better as grey and black, but still looks dope af with the red 👍👍👌🔥
amazing work....I would of pick a bigger figure pattern...I feel like if you look from distance the rim just looks blackish...
everything i look up for years you have a video explaining exactly what I'm looking for
I'm painting the interior of my tc its plastic what do you recommend me using primer or adhesion promoter or is it the same ?
yeah they are pretty much the same.
+customspraymods use plastic primer if you can find it.
Thank you good sir
Great Post Edit! Makes the video that much better
the white letters on the tires...u add them or r they the brand of the tire? i never seen that bigg of white letter tires in the usa
+wildeyednorthernboy You add them and they're everywhere.
the best channel with good skills.
can i ask boss? after i grinding and cleaning the mags, what kind of first cost i will spray? then the finishing? thank you.
what product you use .... red candy
... Kandy basecoat ... binder..thinner..baseclear ??
How long was the dipping window from base coat to dip?
Can we do Hydro dip after that Candy red coat?
Wow, Those rims went from nothing to lot!!! Well done sir well done indeed!!!
i got a question. is it still bad when you smell the paint trough your mask while spraying?
How would I prep a chrome OEM wheel for dipping to say carbon... I usually don't mess with chrome too much
Time between candy and clear coat?
Make your self, 4-electric wheel spinners, with a foot pedal speed control, that way you don't have to look for missed spots.
Quick ? What happens when you change the tires basically how durable is the hydrograffics. Will it come off on the edges.
John Kovacs it's just as good as paint. It has 2k clear over it.
dude hydro dipping looks so cool

Wow really cool 👍. That would look good on my V-Rod wheels.
Hey customspraymod would you mind if I ask you a few questions about how you do the hydrographic paint ??
khodabuccus salman sure
You should do the mirrors, door handles, and spoiler
Sr i wants too buy all this product from you,are u selling these chemicals and spray painting. all of material,
please send his prices.
we wants to stat this business in my homeland,

Best video on youtube i have watched all your videos cant wait for the the next one
Fantastic job! Thanks for showing the process!
Is looking more like a proper track car I love it BTW the wheels look awesome
I want to know
What do you add the the concentrated candy color please ??
Its called basecoat binder or clear basecoat
Hey man! I subbed to your channel a long time ago because I found you in the comment section of Mcm. :)

Thanks for that mate. Dont worry your english seems better then alot of people I get messages from.
is there a reason why you didn't put the candy on then dip them?
because I just like coating everything in candy.
+customspraymods I think it's going to be a contagious situation here lol.
