It was really, REALLY different...I just got out of the movie and I'm still processing it. Definitely A LOT of Christine vibes. One little detail I noticed is that on the title cards, they didn't go with the original Halloween font, instead going for the Halloween 3: Season of The Witch font.
Just got back from the theater also.
And I went in with low expectations and was still disappointed. Too many cheap jumpscares. No likeable characters. Real lame bully characters lol. Awful just awful
@@josephamoraz7990 Totally! The bullies were horrible haha I think Rob Zombie did the casting on that day...
That's probably why they went with season of the witch font. Giving us a very subtle heads up that Michael is pretty much irrelevant
I feel like this trilogy harkens back to the original idea of having it be an anthology series given the fact that each one of these entries are so different in the slasher genre
It was such a rip off from Christine plagerism strikes yet again at least there were no legacy characters to destroy and embarrass not as woke as last juvenile shit films fuck this chit
For my experience seeing this film, during the previews, two old ladies came in, sat down, and I knew immediately that they were gonna cause a problem, and they did. They started getting angry at all of us fans when gorey things happened and they told us that we’re sick in the head for liking this. I’m still wondering why they bought the tickets and came into the theater in the first place
They're the ones who are most likely really sick and enjoy it and are just projecting it on to you all out of their own guilt for it
Why did they bother? Likely so they could have something to gripe about, and also wave their fingers at others (fans) while claiming the moral high ground.
It's a load of self-serving BS, that's my take.
@@jeanpaulmichell7243 I don’t know but this happens when I’m around old ladies
You gotta watch them old ladies
Karen's doing what they do!
Lee you are so good at reviewing movies without spoiling things. It’s not easy to do.
It’s not easy with this trilogy. Sometimes I will even cut things out after I’ve recorded it just to be safe. Thank you.
I agree.
This is all I needed to hear brother, that it got the Drumdums seal of approval so to speak! I'm excited, can't wait to see it today!!!
Just watched Cody's review and one thing he said I think will happen is - Once the dust settles you'll have people that love this and people that hate it, with very few in between (like him). Great review good sir!!
Michael dies in a chopping machine, they made sushi out of him. You see Michael only 4 minutes in the whole movie. Plus he has a buddy he helps. Michael borrowed him his mask. Bad movie
@@theequalizer4354 I seen it. It's dog shit.
Thank you for putting my mind at ease after some concerning things. Anything that takes risks I always appreciate. I’m doing my best to avoid spoilers till tomorrow. Looking forward to it.
Yes I think it will definitely help if you are open to change with this one. I did not want a repeat of the last two movies.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews I imagine it’s like the final season of Game of Thrones. People hate it but I appreciate it went there and didn’t hold back.
Seeing it tonight! Can’t wait!!!!
I genuinely care about your opinion and it relieves me that you liked it. Big sigh of relief 😊
Thank you!
Awesome review! This is what I was hoping to hear from you! Can’t wait to see it tomorrow! You the man, Lee!
Thanks Ash!
I calling it: Michael and Lorie start fighting but their eyes catch. And in that moment the aggression turns to passion. And that night, the only thing he killed was loneliness.
This movie is pretty much a romance so it wouldn't have surprised me.
I'm gonna see this tomorrow, seen some spoiler free reviews and didn't have high hopes, but I think you saved my day with this review.
Saw this in IMAX then came home and put it on Peacock. I really like where they took it. It’s smaller, more intimate, and a great character study all around. Did you notice that they used the Season of the Witch font for the credits?
So good to hear this positive spoiler free review, great Job 🎃🏵️
I've been concerned about this movie for a while but I gotta say, your enthusiasm for it is making me more open to it.
Just go in with an open mind.
Just go in with an open mind and dont expect a traditional Halloween movie.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews I just watched it on Peacock. I absolutely loved it, it did something very creative but at it's core still felt like Halloween. I agree with Cody Leach who said it almost feels like a Halloween anthology tale. I think in the long run this one might be my favorite of the David Gordon Green trilogy.
@@AmericanGadfly It was a damn good movie.
@@tylertheguy3160 glad you enjoyed it
Seeing this Saturday and I can't wait! Happy Halloween 🎃
One of my favorites of the franchise. It wasn't scared to do something different and I salute it. Nobody should be mad if people love it or hate it.
Lucky you. I thought it was horrible.
@@wayneturner8575 I understand. I'm getting a last jedi or bvs vibes that this will be loved down the line after multiple watches.
@@wesleywhite4782 - I wish,I liked it but hated it for so many reasons. Of course so hard to say why without spoiling it,so can't say why. Will only say one thing: Non-spoiler: THE WRITING!
@@wayneturner8575 can't let one mistake let you hate a movie the was good it actually made perfect sense
Different!? Lol… by copying Friday the 13th Part V!?
I can't wait for this movie!!! No spoilers and going in pretty much blind it seems like they did a great job keeping everything under wraps, couldn't ask for more.
Michael dies in a chopping machine, they made sushi out of him. You see Michael only 4 minutes in the whole movie. Plus he has a buddy he helps. Michael borrowed him his mask. Bad movie

@@theequalizer4354 yeah. Bad. 🤦🏽♀️
@@srod349 there’s no way they made him that weak bro I swear to god if this how they really end it imma be piss the fuck off
I didn’t love the movie, but I do appreciate that they attempted to do something different, instead of the usual slasher formula. I love how Laurie Strode has evolved, attempting to reclaim her life.
It’s an art to review a movie without spoiling it lol. I have a feeling like kills and 2018 your opinion will change in a years time .
My opinion hasn’t changed on kills. I’m still singing his praises at the top of the mountain.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews they should have taking the ending of Ends and put it in Kills and you have a good movie
@@thedarknate08 Agreed.
@@thedarknate08 I said the exact same thing. Ends didn’t feel like a Michael Myers movie to me until the last 10 minutes.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews if you actually loved Halloween kills I can't take your review seriously.. I'll stick to Dave's channel. you're just wearing rose colored glasses for anything with Michael Myers in it.
To me your the go to guy for Halloween. I always love hear you talking Halloween. I will hear about it in spoiler review.
Dude thanks so much for your spoiler-free reviews -- especially for this film. I was anxious to hear about the film, but without learning too many details. This review was perfect! I'm so stoked to see this film... my son and I are going on Sunday. And from the way you've described it, it sounds like something I'm gonna love and exactly what I was hoping for (going in new directions). Can't wait to see it!
Honestly what I love about Ends is how it does not care for trying to appease any specific kind of fan. It's not here to be a huge slash-'em-up, it's not interested in playing things safe for the sake of appeasing people who didn't like Kills, it is only concerned with telling what it believes to be the best possible conclusion for this story and by the powers of Thorn, they absolutely pulled that off.
I have yet to see this movie, heard a little about the spoilers but to me from what I'm hearing it's kind of an H6 P-cut vibe!
@@larryconnon4898 I can definitely see that. Unlike the P-cut though I would at least say the ending will not necessarily interrupt the cool movie that's happening with something that brings it down. I'd really recommend watching it when the chance comes, it's really good.
This is not a Halloween film, it’s utter trash and the writing is so bad to see how these people are acting while Michael is still on the loose is a fucking joke! Myers isn’t a killing machine just grab a wine mom and she will take him out!
@@drloomisspeaks4210 Honestly, I really don't mind that aspect of it. David Gordon Green talked about how he tried to incorporate elements of the pandemic into it and clearly he took inspiration from how people basically tried acting like life was just back to normal when cases started going down while not realizing it's still out there. It's the same thing here, people are trying to move on from Michael by ignoring him though they shouldn't since he is still out there though the real pressing matter is his evil and how that can manifest in others. Michael was always called the Shape because the idea is that in a lot of ways he's not human, he's a mere shape of a person, a vessel for evil that feigns humanity.
Michael Myers is the embodiment of evil... but he's not a unique case. Evil can and does come about in different forms and that's what the movie showed us.
Yeah but when you bill it as the final instalment in a trilogy then you kinda make a promise with the first two films that should be delivered on in the third... if you tell someone they're on a bus to New York and then drive them out to Frog Balls, Arkansas, people are gonna ask "where the hell are we going?"
I saw this movie two days ago but it's felt like a week between my screening and this review. I can tell you, I laughed with joy when I saw the font; probably the only person in my audience that did. But I heard no complaints from anyone when the movie ended. And I completely agree with this review.
Except for the ending, which I can appreciate might be the most divisive part of this most divisive movie. I suppose I can imagine why, but I personally loved it.
Not sure where I'd rank the movie yet, need to see it again, but it's hanging around 4th place for me.
Thank you!!!! I’m super super excited.
Thank you so much for the review. It does seem they are (not surprisingly) divisive. But I’m glad you enjoyed it for the most part. I’m seeing it with my family on the 15th! Looking forward to the uniqueness.
The thing about the Halloween is that it ends. All things end and die. This movie made us deal with that. It was about experiencing trauma, trauma infecting others, and overcoming it in some ways. I LOVED IT.
Nailed it.
✅️✅️✅️💯💯🤟🤟
I’m seeing this in less than 6 hours..I’ve heard subpar reviews from people I trust. So nervous 😬
Glad you liked it Lee!
Open mind.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. A lot of the other reviews I've heard have been negative, it's nice to see someone who enjoyed it.
I really did.
Can't wait to see this tomorrow night. Thanks for the review and stay awesome as always.
Hope you enjoy it!
Seeing it in about 2 hours. It's bittersweet that it's here already.
“Halloween Ends” is barely a “Halloween” movie. If this is truly the end, it’s a whimper, not a bang. What starts promising gets dumb, and Green can’t even manage the art of a quality kill. Absolutely HORROR-ific. The big show down everyone hoped for, over in less than 2 minutes. Makes Halloween Kills seem like a masterpiece. It's as scary as haunted mansion at Disney. Michael was barely even in the movie. When he did appear he was not the killing machine, essence of pure evil, boogeyman that we know. He was humanized and just a weak old man with a costume and knife.
even the Loomis lovers are not even mentioning how this craps on his legacy. this means Loomis was wrong about everything, he was no boogeyman, he was just a man in a cheap mask, he was killable and very easy to kill.
Hell yeah! Great review Lee. Glad you loved it! Seeing it tonight at 6 PM in IMAX. Can’t wait! 🎃
Hope you enjoy it!
YESS THE REVIEW I BEEN WAITING FOR BROTHER. ILL be on look out for your spoiler talk
Boom!!
One of the things I love about the horror genre is how many differing opinions there are when it comes to each individual movie. In most cases I would worry when a movie is called “divisive” or is getting low scores or bad reviews. But, with horror it seems like people can find things in a movie that they can latch onto that they really like that many others may not care for. For instance, My Bloody Valentine (1981) is my all-time favorite horror movie and it has a pretty average score of 6.2 on IMDb. Halloween Kills, House of Wax (2005) and Halloween III don’t seem to be popular choices for most, but I love the hell out of all three. I know we all come to our own conclusions when it comes to why we do or do not like a film regardless of the genre. The disparity just seems to be more prevalent in horror, and I love that. Everyone seems to have their own unique taste. That is why I feel good going into this movie despite some of the negativity surrounding it. I’m really glad you enjoyed this movie and I hope I do as well.
And especially this franchise. Lot of differing opinions.
nah bro. you'll find it to be a really, stupid, shitty movie.
Glad you liked it, me too, but I heard that the version on Peacock, will probably be the less divisive version, that was shown at the test screening, so you might wanna, see that version too 🙂.
Awesome man! You are my go to guy for reviews and you never disappoint. Thanks for your spoiler free review. I look forward to your spoiler review. Also, good job in 13 Fanboy.
Thank you Gregory!
Really glad you enjoyed Lee after seeing so many negative reviews! Im watching Saturday can’t wait 🎃
Going to see it tomorrow evening! The trailer had me excited but the reviewers seems to not be as impressed (avoided spoilers though). You've given me some optimism that it'll be something I like even if it's different. I like H3 and H6, so being different doesn't automatically mean I won't like it.
Ahahahaha. I guarantee you're going to leave the theater or couch frustrated asf after seeing this. This film is different, but not "good different". lol
Awesome review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Can't wait to see it on Peacock tomorrow night. Looking forward to the spoiler review and hopefully you give it a fresh rating on rotten tomatoes 🍅.
Excellent Review Lee! I love all of the movies in the franchise no matter what can’t help it and I’m a huge fan of the very divisive Rob Zombie H2. So I’m good with different. So excited for tonight 🎃
Amazing review Lee!! We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed it too! 😄
Glad you 2 liked it!
Definitely ambitious & avant-garde. Even though I had someone a row in front of me who could not shut up. The acting, dialogue and performances are the best out of the 3 in the trilogy.
“Drive” vibes
Cant see it in theatres till closer to Halloween which im fine with so for now gonna watch it on Peacock. So excited i love how they have stayed true to 78 but still doing something new cant wait to see it all end tonight. Gonna watch 78 2018 and Kills before it drops.
Thanks for the review always a pleasure to watch.
Thank you!
Thanks for the review 😊🙂🙂😊
Halloween 3 season of the witch was very different and is now an underrated classic and has gained a fan base.
Exactly. I seriously think this will do the same. I’m glad I got it immediately.
It wasn't different in the same way these new films are different. It was different because Carpenter wanted to get away from the Michael Myers story and make Halloween an anthology with new horror tales that take place on Halloween night.
Man both yours and Jimmy Champane's reviews have me really excited. Both of you described it as exactly what I wanted this to be! Looking forward to the inevitable Hallowstream Ends II
Jimmy and I are both pretty open minded when it comes to the plots of these movies. I will say that.
Exactly what I said too!! Lol
I'm not the biggest fan of Halloween but I know how much of a fan you are lee and I'm glad you enjoyed this movie and this trilogy man.
Thank you Dalton!
You're my go to for anything Halloween 🎃 so I'm gonna give it a chance tonight at the Chinese theater in Hollywood so let's see what happens because I trust you're reviews
Thanks Seth!
HATED IT.....HATED IT.....HATED IT!!!...........As a huge Halloween fan, I'm sooooooooooo bummed.
You mean Michael having bestie parties in the sewers or Alison having nooooooooo insight into life or situations dealing in life or death? Or maybe the fact the Feds didn't look for an escaped mental patient who killed 30 people in a day
I loved the still shots of the house at the end, this time with no breathing.
I just got done watching this myself before bed. And idk, I really didn't enjoy most of the movie until the ending sequence started. I do really like Laurie in this one though, one hell of a performance! I also agree with you on Alysson, she was fantastic.
Glad to hear a positive review before going to see it! The negatives really burst my bubble and level of excitement and anticipation, so your review renewed my hope man! Some people were complaining how Michael wasn’t in the film enough, but if he’s given too much screen time then that can lessen the effectiveness/mysteriousness of his character. You know? I’m glad to hear this one is very unique compared to the first two of the trilogy. It still looks and sounds pretty satisfying to me! Thanks again and I subscribed! 😁👊🎃
oh my god i’m so glad you liked it. Everyone was absolutely hating it and it was making me worried. I usually always agree with you when it comes to halloween so I think i’ll like this movie
It’s very good. Be open when you see it, and remember it’s David Gordon Greens version and vision, not ours. It was a great film. He took a lot of risks and like Lee said I personally think he stuck the landing. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first two in the trilogy of course I appreciate them more and more now. This film will stand out among all Halloween films. Whether you like the ending or not stay focused on all that is said until the credits roll.
Michael dies in a chopping machine, they made sushi out of him. You see Michael only 4 minutes in the whole movie. Plus he has a buddy he helps. Michael borrowed him his mask. Bad movie
Noooo.the movie is not good.but no-one can stop you from watching it.
Good review can’t wait to see it tomorrow with my family and some friends
My man Drum👍👍 been waiting for this one
Thanks Brett!
Given how awful Kills was, the spoilers on this movie since March turning out to be true, the entire ending on Twitter and the D riding DGG has done on H3, I'd be shocked if this doesn't bore me to tears.
Your comment is irrelevant. Kills was great. True Halloween fans enjoy every movie in the Halloween timelines.
@@Mr.Shackleford45 Kills is objectively about dog 💩. I award you no points for you lame attempt at taking a run at me and may God have mercy on your soul.
@@Mr.Shackleford45 Don’t let their comment get to you, they sound like they would be a miserable asshole in person.🙂
True fans? True fans aren’t delusional and can be critical of the product given to us. Objectively, this trilogy was not needed and will prove to be forgettable compared to the first 6 films. You don’t have to lie to yourself and convince yourself everything with the title Halloween is good.
@@ApolloBalboa-el9fc you meant peaches right? No one would ever presume who is and isn't a true fan based on objective opinions.
Man, we've come a long way since HE/Friday 5 where a fake killer is accepted so openly. Insane to me. I'll know more in an hour but right now I am not confident this is gonna be for me.
I have been a hardcore Halloween fan since I was around 10 or so. I loved Halloween Ends. It's very different, but it's also very tragic and well made. It was better than I thought it would be. As the years pass, I truly believe people will treat this just like Season Of The Witch and love it.
Agreed. I feel like David Gordon Green and Co. completely understood The Shape as an entity with this trilogy. Imho I think they made John Carpenter proud with these three movies.
Better than season the plot didn't get too crazy Season will always be a legendary film but this is better
Man Lee I always thought I was the only one who enjoyed and loved the new trilogy so far but realized all my favorite UA-camrs enjoyed it as well we are all on the same page going tomorrow night it's gonna be a hell of a ride thanks for the video lee
Yeah man I really had a great time with it.
Thank you Lee, you're the best ever and such an inspiration and so beautiful inside and out💙I'm very excited to hopefully see the movie tonight! :)
Thank you Noah!
I think the risks they took that I am hearing was not something they should have done for a closing chapter but I will see for myself at 5PM!
Having just come back from the movie, I kind of have to say, you're right. The risks they take were not bad at all, but they probably could have fit better for the middle chapter of the trilogy.
This should’ve been the middle movie in the trilogy or another alternate universe Michael story 😂 It’s a good movie but not for the final swan song. Give me all Myers for his last movie and not Corey.
@@fabianzimmermann5495 I agree but I hated the direction they took Corey in and I suspect it was done to be able to continue Halloween but when Blumhouse was told they can't do anymore films the characters faith was changed and it's sloppy!
@@lizzymayethebordercollie Agreed this was the wrong time to try something like this and even as a stand alone I don't think it works!
Not a good movie. People are just holding on to high hopes and giving fake positive reviews when they didn't even watch the movie
I think this film will get better over time. It takes some huge guts to make this film. Great video 😎
Completely agree.
I love your bedroom background. While I paid full attention to your review and heard every last word you said, I had trouble keeping my eyes off those various Michael masks and VHS horror tapes. Gorgeous backdrop!

Glad you liked it Lee!
I liked it too. I had some criticism, absolutely, but it was a fun dreary two hours in the cinema with the best acting out of the trilogy, terrific SFX, a better visual look than Kills, and some other awesome moments!
I'll have to watch Halloween 2018 again, but at the moment I liked ENDS the most.
Opening credits were epic!
I've heard the same negative reviews, but for its truly does matter what you have to say. Like me you show true passion for the genre and go into a movie open minded. You don't completely shy away from a movie or tear it down. Great review and i look forward to seeing it
Thank you Justin!
Oh that passion is about to die my friend. Just watch the movie then remember my comment lol
I'm so ready to see this! You got my curiosity peaked
I love what they did in this movie. I really appreciate the direction that it took. It really was a departure from the rest of the franchise.
LOVED it! I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I did. We're always complaining about how movies don't take chances, or new creative opportunities, well this one did, and they paid off. Because they do tie up a lot of what you want, while giving an interesting new plot that is started and concluded by the end of the film (perfectly tied up with no room for an H20 into Resurrection revival). Towards the end of the film, I realized that this movie basically gave me vibes from a lot of my favorite horror films. Yes, it would've been great to have an entire film dedicated to Michael Myers and Laurie face to face, cat and mouse. But we get a small piece of that (which is enough since it's done well) And at the same time, we get to see a really creative take on these characters. And yes, "Christine" is very present throughout the film, without the car.
I've waited a long time for this review coz I have very similar tastes to you Lee. This gives me hope but I'm still going to keep my expectations in check. Looking forward to spoiler review, thanks Lee
Thanks David! Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for your input. I plan to go next weekend.
Great Review Mr. Lee
Now I'm even more excited man. You and I seem to fall in the same line with what we enjoy and what we dislike about a Halloween film. I know I'll have my nitpicks about HEnds, but I'm even more sure after hearing you say you loved it that I will enjoy it.

I'm in total and complete agreement with you, Lee! Tihis movie impressed the hell out of me and I appreciated all of the weird and unexpected turns.
Great review! If people can get past how different it is, they can enjoy it more. I think a lot of critics will jump the gun on reviewing it without giving it enough thought.

It's streaming on Peacock right now! Fuckin nuts just started. Corey is coming into a house with a shitload of stairs. Here we go Drum!
It's a great and a sad day knowing it's gonna be a very long time until we see Michael Myers on screen again
Maybe not, it seems like Daniel Harris or John Carpenter might have something in the works for in the next 3 years. But even 3 years is a long time away.
