I recognise the house on the Wirral. Have had many a nice time in the Devon Doorway as I used to live on the Wirral. Miss gentle England. Her cottages and gardens. Country pubs. Live in Spain. This made me nostalgic. Will go home one day. Thank you for your lovely video.

Would you believe I simply happened upon the ivy covered cottage by chance as I drove round the countryside of Devon. I know most of the other cottages and often photograph them.

I absolutely love English cottages, I have a very young wisteria floribunda hopefully it will grow, bloom and trail over our treehouse someday, happy Sunday Paul hope you and your loved ones are safe at this time and you can enjoy your beautiful garden!

@@mzurilovebeautyfragranceslove Grew great for two or three years - flowered nicely - then died! Don't know what happened. I think it's because of the location. A clematis died in the same place!

Beautiful cottages ... what impresses me most is how wonderfully they are maintained. Not a thing out of place and I wonder just how much time it took to train that beautiful Wisteria. Great photography Paul!
Thanks for the nice comments Lyn. The cottage was built in the late 17th century so the wisteria could well be a hundred years old.

The materials used for thatching are traditionally one of these three: Water Reed, Combed Wheat Reed and Longstraw.
