What I've learned for 3 years of calisthenics is that you have to incorporate some gym work into your routines. Start working with heavy weights doing shoulder exercises in the gym and your planche progression and handstand push ups will boost a lot. The general advice would be, to train any skill, go to the gym and try to replicate the movement but in isolation and with weights, not your bodyweight. One gym training and one calisthenics training seems to be best for me
I've personally tried military press and it works great for handstand push ups
@@daniel1157 yeah, for sure. The military press and handstand push ups are almost identical movements when it comes to arm strength
At 3 years, what level would your refer yourself as? In calisthenics of course?
Exactly , the same works best for me
I will never use weights
I didn't know there's a new upcoming fitness influencer on YT. Keep it up brother. This was clear and concise without unnecessary clutter. Subscribed!
Thanks bro 😊

This 4 minute video showing 20 steps. Other videos are like 20 minutes long showing 4 steps.
Flawless content. Simple but clear and concise execution of showing all the progressions, no fluff, kickass soundtrack. I like
Awesome work. Much respect!
Great video! What I learned after years of calisthenics is that it pays off to go slowly through the progressions. At the beginning I would want to try and hop into the skill but I learned there is a lot more that goes into doing it, including tendon/ligament strength and building up the secondary/tertiary muscles that aren't used to being used to that degree. Be patient friends!
Thank you so much for this, sometimes I get so focused on the main goal I get frustrated when things take longer than expected. This comment really means a lot.
Hey brother, any tips or advices? I’m new and just discovered calisthenics and it peak my interest. I wanna get into it.
@@whatisevil2447 Always warm up your joints! If you are training skills, do them at the beginning of the workout to build the mind-body connection without muscles being the limiting factor. Doing negatives of the next hardest progression is a good transition to build the strength when you can't quite do it. Knowing the progressions well helps to switch up your routine and keep moving forward. Have a goal to stay motivated but give it a reasonable time frame (I usually assess in monthly intervals since some things just take time). Learning how to shift your bodyweight to make an exercise harder is a great skill since we can't just add another plate to make things heavier. I think thats enough for now :P Good luck!
@@Deathf1ame Thanks bro. So how long you been doing it and what’s your routine like…I’m a complete newbie and still need to make up a regiment. You could tell by my quick response I really tryna keep the motivation going.
@@whatisevil2447 This would be my 7th year. Routine depends on your time; I do something like shoulders-back-chest-legs. You can do push-pull-cardio if you're busier. I just do my highest progression then work down after sets of 3. You can always change your training (normal concentric, isometric holds, explosive reps for example). I can't tell you which exercises to do because it depends on your level. You can see how you feel with my routine and adapt it into your own
al fin un video con progresiones realistas que detallan el paso a paso y aterriza el tiempo que puede tomarnos el éxito en la plancha. Has ganado un suscriptor.

Man, your videos are so motivating! I hadn't do any exercises for so long and you make me do 'em again. Thanks you!
need discipline too, not just motivation
It's about motivation at first, but after some time it's about consistency and discipline (as @kam said)
