BG3 has helped me progress my story vastly. I was too caught up with keeping secrets and lore from my party. The game has helped me gauge a rule of thumb when it comes to handing out secrets and bits of information. Also the game has helped me with my voice acting because I never knew how to emphasise a variety of different NPC encounters. Also I thought handing out magical items was super game breaking. But it’s surprising how much they can add to character progression. Last but not least, The game has helped me understand hiding in combat rules as the rules were very wishy-washy to begin with in the players handbook.
Hey! I have my curse of strahd campaign tonight and wanted to say thank you for your COS videos specifically, I’ve watched them absolutely religiously to help with prep. Great content!
I'm also starting a CoS campaign, and the Durst manor videos are so inspiring. such simple yet impactful settings changes, and suddenly, one feels invested in the plot.
BG3 showed me that I can be telling the party to roll a check if they are close to something hidden that they could easily find if they spent a little extra time. I know they would not have found very many hidden doors in my Curse of Strahd campaign if I had not told them they notice some odd things in the walls here and there.
Great video! BG3 has helped my wife (who is new into playing D&d with our friends) better visual the fantasy tabletop world and some of the spell effects involved.
I haven't had the pleasure of playing yet but I've been raiding the BG3 wiki for magic item ideas. I cherry pick the abilities I like or just use them for inspiration for new items altogether since not many of them would port directly over to my game very well (too strong)
It's a little thing, but I think I'll try the 2 Shorts Rest / day (like 5mn in game time to short rest). It might keep the pace of the story, 2 Short Rest seems fair. I'm not into the ambiguous 1h short rest that you can spam during the day, I handle it not very well this way ^^
I'm thinking about adding an academy to CoS, where Rahadin and Strahd's consorts take children to be raised as pages/spies. Would any of the adventures in the Librus Nocturnum help with that?
No. Baldurs Gate 3 is for people that want to play DnD without actually playing DnD. It doesn't even have half the players guide from 2014 in it. The game is not good.

This is good insight but honestly what BG3 is doing for me as a DM is showcasing how to run monsters optimally in combat!

Same. Lunch Break Heroes CoS videos are mandatory in my opinion.

Your breakdown of pacing for gaming is what really helps me. Please do more videos like this :)

Hey, good to see you again, spooky day to you, sir!

Definitely gets rid of the logistical issue of finding a safe place to spend an hour.

Cope.
And seethe
if something is fun there's no need to shame people
Wrong.
Worst take I've seen in a long time.
