I was dming COS (of course) and the party of six was ambushed by three vampire spawn. 5 of them took on two, and left the warlock to deal with the other. The vampire latched on to the warlock after a struggle, bled him nearly dry while the rest of the party continued to focus the other two. Ismark attempted to give the warlock a hand, but failed, so the warlock used eldritch blast, and it also had the knockback feature, and blew it off of him, taking a chunk out of his(warlocks) neck and he almost died, but ireena saved him with two nat 20 medicine checks, while the party continued to struggle with the other two vampires (at level 5). It was the dumbest combat encounter I have ever been a part of.
FYI in the Lamia stat block there are couple of mistakes. In bite attack, there is Bruxa and not Lamia. Swallow says "outside of the toad" and "each of the toad's turns" I know someone on Patreon probably mentioned it, but if not, it is mentioned here.
True, either have to remove the restriction against actions from mist-form, or move Envelope from Actions to Features. I'd probably make Envelope a passive feature rather than action.
@@minimoose7890 Its worth noting that mist form is already a janky feature, since RAW a vampire who assumes it is stuck in it, since their shapeshifting requires an action, which is disabled in mist form. Id just rewrite to "... Is unable to take actions other than this one or envelope" for the least invasive change.
update on this: Ludmilla got taken out in one round of combat. Admittedly my party is beefy, but our Sorlock cast slow that got all but 3 of the direwolves that she, Ludmilla, brought with her. They then used fireball and took out 5/6 of the direwolves. Our Paladin and monk then rush in and mollywopped Ludmilla.
I'm curious if you've seen the vampires in "Flee Mortals" and what you think of them? I don't recall where it was posted, but I know Sly Flourish was annoyed by the lack of diversity of vampires in 5e and created some of his own for use in things like CoS. Would you use any of the 8 featured in your video in a CoS campaign, and if so, how/where?

Nope, you’re the first. I’m gonna get those fixed ASAP. Thank you!
Bruxa is the word for "Witch" 8n Portuguese. It's pronounced Bru-cha
" Bruja" though is the Spanish spelling for witch. Both similar!
Impact Winter has been a fun listen on Audible.

Just a small note - as written the Nosferatu can't use Envelope, since it's mist form forbids it from taking actions, which Envelope it :P

@@Matanlimer it's poor writing by WotC, but I guess they didn't think vampires should use mist except for when losing all their HP and fleeing?
@@minimoose7890 Yeah. that's probably it.
So would it be interesting to make the wives of Strahd into Bruxa and then make the bard into a Harion to add a bit more umph to them?
Hell yeah!
