The Python: Old School Cool.

- Time to take one of the oldest (and arguably best multirole) ships in the game, into some old school combat with a very old school loadout.
Ship build: s.orbis.zone/9qgK
One thing you need to know about this ship: she isn't agile. Even with fully engineered thrusters and making her as light as possible and keeping as much power to ENG as you can get away with... she will never be a nimble strike fighter. Once you accept that, you can start appreciating what she does have.
Namely a very capacity to be very tanky, and dish out a good deal of punishment. And, in my personal opinion, better hardpoint placement than the Krait Mk II. And a way better engine sound. She sounds like a Mustang. :D
This is the first time I think I've ever used Rapid Fire on any weapon other than missiles, but it seemed obvious with Scramble Spectrum on the pulses, offering a chance to cause your target to malfunction on hull strikes. More shots = more chances to be annoying. Simple. Add to that the ultimate annoying effect of Dispersal Field on the cannons, scrambling gimbals and turrets and you have a ship you really don't want to fight against.
Now your talking (Or in this case streaming lol), The Python!! My goto ship for,.....Well just about anything. Love mine to bits. I have 5 Pythons, one for each Role, Trading to Outpost (Inc Mission running), Combat, Mining, Bubble runner in open to annoy the griefers) , and one more just cause i love em. Being an old sexist beast, my open bubble runner is called 'Trouser' (Think how that is shown on the Left of the HUD ;-) )
The Python. I do like that ship immensely. She can fight well she can mine well she can haul freight well she can do everything well . I absolutely love that ship. I couldn’t say that in the early days because I was so green and I was killed so many times in it I hated it but not now
I know that feeling. I was so desperate to get a Python that I could only afford to D rate it. And it flew like something out of a nightmare. That put me off for absolutely ages. She's the quintessential jack of all trades. And if you are a commander who can only afford one ship, or only wants to use one ship, this is very high on the list for that one ship to own.
@@Kaethena I see you re-joined Rusty’s discord. I don’t have much to say on his discord because I can’t stand half of the people on it so I stay silent.
Yeah I did, so I could message him a build in private. It's kinda hard for me to get builds out to him otherwise. He didn't want it public which I can understand. Not sure how active I will be on there.
@@Kaethena I wasn’t knocking it. They could learn something Because most of them are idiots.
Fantastic channel and some great builds. Why short range on your builds instead of overcharged? Thanks for your time and I hope to see more.
Thank you.
Thank you for the reply. If you were to build a alliance crusader, how would you do it? I would love to see how you would build my favourite ship. I have all the big ships but they get very boring and like you I love dog fighting. I will start engineering short range for my ships now. Thanks again.
@@ieatbogiesuk3327 I would build it like this: s.orbis.zone/b_dd :)
Sir, you are an absolute legend. Thank you very much for taking time out of your day to build that for me. Hope to see more videos soon.
@@ieatbogiesuk3327 Ma'am, actually. But it's all good.
It appears on my screen that you are switching fire groups, with only the multi cannon being the one change, is this just for ammo control? Or are my eyes playing tricks on me xD
Yeah partly. It's mainly because I save the MC until the shields are down. I should really save the Cannons, too, but they have Dispersal Field on them, which acts like chaff, so they're useful while the shields are still up, too.
Thanks!
I’m just about to start getting into the combat. I will have to use your videos for some pointers! They are awesome!
