Our transit did not come with a factory mat- it was just the bare metal floor so I don’t have any comparative. So far, we have not seen any signs of moisture issues with our current floor system from AVC Rig.
Yes! Just the addition of the KilMat made a huge difference when we were driving the van around. After the Thinsulate and the wall panels were installed (which also are covered in Landau foam and fabric) the sound just got better. We went from hearing every little rock hitting inside the wheel well (which was very loud!) to not even being able to notice it at all.
Hi there! We used SM600L Thinsulate, based largely on recommendations and discussion by FarOutRide. Check out their website-I believe they have provided the R-value but it should also be easy to search as well!
also for the floor i got rid of the factory mat and was wet when i pulled it out

how much material would i need for the same size transit?
We ordered a box of 50 mil 50 square feet KILMAT and had just a few sheets left over- it was the perfect amount for us in my opinion!
so did it make a huge difference in sound?

Do you know what the r value is for the Thinsulate? Thanks

Seems like adhesive overkill to me.
Probably but we wanted to make sure it didn’t move once we put the walls and ceiling panels up! 😊
Yep.
Please wear a breather mask when spraying adhesive overhead inside the van. You really don’t want to breathing in that stuff!
