Main differences, he's way better looking, in better shape, and actually seems to play games himself doesn't need to bring on other "experts". Way better than MJR.
Definitely any of the VanillaWare games (Murumasa, Dragon's Crown & Odin Sphere). If you like 2D side-scrolling beatemups w/ a lot of RPG elements thrown in, then any VanillaWare game is a must. Plus, there's the fact that they are some of the best looking games from an artistic standpoint... all visuals are based on hand-drawn designs and they make the games look THAT much better!
I love the Vita and it still get's tons of quality games releasing every month. For JRPG fans you'll definitely want to look into Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 and Tokyo Xanadu.
Alright boys. I have a plan now. Time to scour eBay for a relatively cheap high rated vita in 2020 and play me a few of these games. The only thing that can stop me now is the feeling that I should probably be focusing more on my current consoles.
dude, jailbreak your console please. its so god damn worth it (free games, custom themes, etc). i was scared about jailbreaking/hacking my vita especially since im not a big computer person but jesus christ it was so easy. and i didnt think the “free games” part of jailbreaking was that good but OHHHHHMYYYYYGODDDDDD. you can literally get ANY and EVERY ps vita game you could ever want. by hacking the vita you can also use an sd2vita to get 256GB and load your switch instead of wasting money on the overpriced memory cards. okay im rambling now, back to my vita!
Don't feel bad about trading for a 3DS, as the price of PSVita memory cards is still crazy insane where a 16GB memory card is still $45 on Walmart's website, and a Sandisk Ultra 16GB Class 10 U1 Micro SD card I recently bought from Walmart for my 2DS XL(under RMA warranty repair at the moment as it's stuck in sleep mode)only cost a bit over $11 after tax, plus tons of good games on the 3DS/2DS platform.
It’s got such a well balanced collection.. I still use it today! Uncharted Golden Abyss actually got me on board with the whole franchise and I put it right behind U4 & U2 as my third favorite.. Also had an amazing time with the Walking Dead duology and all those Falcom rpg exclusives especially Trails & YS VIII
I haven't touched my Vita since getting the Switch as well. I feel bad but I'm only one man, Wood! Haha. Great video- Making me want to blow the dust off mine as well here!
God of War collection, Child of light, Rayman origin/Legend, Injustice, Borderlands 2 and any lego games are good vita games worth collecting and playing :)
Trails of Cold Steel. It's a very good RPG, and it's a dualogy on the Vita. The third is bring made for the PS4 with hints that the first two will be remastered for it as well. These are very well written games, and the combat is strategic. The characters can also be customized to fight as you see fit.
My top eight vita games 1. Little big Planet PS vita 2. Minecraft PS Vita Edition 3. Tear away 4. Need for speed most wanted 5.Uncharted 6.MK Komplete Edition 7.Killzone 8. Call of duty Edit: Love ur vids
I without a doubt recommend Dragon's Crown, Muramasa: Rebirth, and Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir. VanillaWare is godly. And if you liked Persona 4 Golden you might want to check out Caligula Effect, Lost Dimension, and Conception II. I also really enjoy Grand Kingdom, Oreshika, the Danganronpa quadrilogy, Utawareurumono duology and the Toukiden duology.
I got the PSvita to play Soul Sacrifice Delta (Important to get the Delta version because it's the complete version but it's only digitally downloadable). Such a great game.
I bought PS vita just for persona 4G. Love that game. And I would recommend people trying the Atelier series. I am a big fan of the whole series. The series are mostly created for PS3 and PS4 but they have a remastered version with additional content for the PS Vita.
I got a PSTV last year as a budget friendly way to play some Vita games. I only have a handful of Vita games, but it was worth it. I highly recommend Disgaea 4.
sandiman21 I need to get a 16gb, 8gb isn't enough anymore. I heard at 32gb and higher the cards have issues. I also highly recommend Freedom Wars. It's like a 3rd person action/shooter game where you do missions to work off your million year sentence. It takes place way in the future when there aren't enough resources so half the population is in jail as sinners and they have to do missions and contribute towards everyone surviving. I hear Cold Steel 1 & 2 are also great. I have yet to buy and play them though. And I love FFX/X-2 HD. If you don't own them on another system, they're fun. Oh and Tales of Hearts R was fun. Not as good as modern home console Tales of games, but it was decent. Persona 4 Golden is amazing too. Wood already mentioned it in the video, but just so you know, it's PSTV compatible.
Oddly enough, it was my lil 8gb that corrupted. I've loved playing through Freedom Wars thus far, though I'll have to start over again now that the hours I put into it are lost.... The rest of your comment after "if you..." isn't showing up for me. Were there any more you were going to mention?
sandiman21 Oh no, I accidentally had if you at the bottom when it was already typed earlier in my comment. Geez, I hope my memory card doesn't ever go corrupt
As pricey as those 32gb+ proprietary cards are, I would have hoped that they would have been built to, you know, last. Seems like the least they could do given how much they're asking for em. Way ta go, Sony!
This a weird confession but only being 15 it isn't surprising, the vita was my first handheld that I owned. All throughout primary school, there were kids left, right and centre with the Nintendo DS. I actually was going to get a 3DS in 2011 but pocket money. Four years later I got my vita, then my gba, gbc and so on. Here's some good titles I recommend, modnation racers: road trip, xeodrifter, velocity, retro rampage dx, sly cooper thieves in time, rayman origins and everyone in the comments is going to cringe, Minecraft Playstation vita edition. Sorry if this was a bit long and oh, I'm now subscribed. Keep making awesome and emotionally aware content!
Gravity Rush and Freedom Wars are two great titles that were made specifically for the Vita. Dynasty Warriors NEXT is great if you love the series, with the only downside being forced touch segments. And it was crafted specifically for Vita, so it looks great and runs well. Senran Kagura is a remarkably good game dripping with anime sex appeal. It's the kind of game that could only come from Japan. It's... unique. But really good. Basically any fighting game port to Vita is excellent. DoA, MVC, SFxT, MK, or Blazblue. If you want lesser-known or hidden gems, I recommend Salt and Sanctuary, Binding of Isaac, Luftrausers, Guacamelee, Earth Defense Force 2, and Hotline Miami.
Thank you for this video. I have been considering getting one for a while now, mainly for the remote play, uncharted and Metal Gear Solid Collection, you have convinced me :) ps you are right, nothing beats Mario Kart!
As a subscriber from the future when you've already made it big time with the switch it nice to see the same energy even in the past where your making a video that isn't about the switch.
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is an awesome collection of the PS2 classics MGS2 & MGS3 plus it even includes the MSX versions of MG & MG2. It was handled by Armature and Bluepoint Games. Sly Cooper collection is another great one. Dead or Alive 5+ is an excellent 60fps beautiful fighting game. It even had a higher review score than the console versions. It also has some characters of the Virtua Fighter series.
Honestly, people can say what they want about the vita, but being able to have pretty much the entire borderlands 2 experience on the go is worth a vita to me, there hundreds of hours worth of gameplay there and I never get tired of borderlands 2
Muramasa Rebirth is bloody brilliant on the Vita. Same goes for Dragon's Crown (though it is also on PS3) as 2 VanillaWare games. There's also the first 2 danganronpa games and their spin-off game, ultra despair girls (again though, all have a ps4 port now), Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice 2, little deviants, and a ton of exclusive and shared releases between ps3/some ps4 of JRPG's.
I’d say although I have a pretty reasonably extensive collection at least by my standards the best thing I ever got for PSV was the Lionheart edition of Trails of Cold Steel.. I still use the system very much.. Currently checking out a bit of an oddball title called Akibas Trip.. No I don’t have a Switch but it does intrigue me.. No 3D on it though huh?!
Even though I have a Switch with well Over 100 games, mostly physical I just found an OG Vita with the OLED screen and couldn’t be happier. I can’t wait to dive into this library of great games. I’d been buying Limited Run Vita games for the last 6 months so I have a few to start with and I feel a light night drunken EBay buying spree coming on!! 😝
You can't really compare Soul Sacrifice to Uncharted. I would compare it to Monster Hunter and if you like Soul Sacrifice you need to download Soul Sacrifice Delta it adds in way more content than the original vanilla game. And you completely forgot about the entire PS4 Library LOL. I don't know why people don't like Remote Play. I played about half of Persona 5 on my Vita.
I've been subscribed for about 6 months and so far I'm enjoying your videos. I think you've missed Dragon's Crown, Muramasa Rebirth and one of my personal favorites... Touch My Katamari Great video, hope to see more in the future
I bought a Switch just because of your channel and the way you presented your content! For last one year or so, I have been religiously following your channel! Now when the vita has been discontinued, I thought I will buy one and I actually bought one last week. And now, here I'm, finding out that you have content on this as well! Please make a list of 50 must have vita games in 2019 🙂 Or may be "I had been addicted to these vita games" 😉
Toukiden (perfect if you like soul Sacrifice, monster Hunter or freedom wars) The binding of Isaac (although this is how the weakest version on the market) and Minecraft are my most played Vita titles
I have all of these games but Persona 4! I need to get it sometime, my favorite is Soul Sacrifice and Lumines. Vita is super underrated and I'm glad this video was made!
PS Vita good times. 2013-2016.... Then I picked up a slim in 2019. Long time away from the system since my first one broke. Didn't think I'd ever go back and play it but guess I was wrong
I feel like you haven't talked about p4g enough. P4g is easily one if the best games ever created, and my personal favorite. The story is amazing and deep, as you said, you get so into that world that it's hard to finish it. The characters are one of the best once I've ever experienced (not just in gaming but overall in any media) the story is well written to say the least, the soundtrack is the best i have ever played in any game, the turn based is fun af and much more... I suggest everyone to play this game even if you need to get a vita for it, it's that good (and also there are more amazing ps vita games, still the best handheld ever imo)
Yeah the Vita is definitely worth a buy. I keep mine on my nightstand next to my bed and just game away before I go to sleep. It beats hearing the TV go on about our shit for brains President.
Now that it’s hackable and SD2Vita memory card for $5 and just use a micro sd card. The Vita has a whole new purpose in 2021. Definitely should do a video on this. Installed tons of home brew and just tons of amazing new features, over clocking, features that weren’t available from Sony, just really cool stuff. I just blew the dust off my Vita too and did this install and man, I put my switch down now for 2 weeks.
Once I jail-broke my vita and installed retroarch, Adrenaline and PKGj ect... My vita has been my favorite device bar none. I play it now even more than my switch.
The vita in 2021 rivals a switch in portability. Especially if you like retrogames from all consoles. The emulations up to and including 64 are damn good... and gta san andreas was just ported to it. And it plays great
about a year sub for me. Glad to know you finally settled in Texas. Sorry I missed you guys this weekend I'm going to the Guitar show instead in two weeks. Wanted to allocate the funds for that plus my game collecting has taken a step back.
Subbed since May. I always just sort of stared at the Vita in confusion. I love Little Big Planet, but I need at least 4 solid titles before I get one before production is stopped. I feel like im racing against time.
I dont like it either, and not because its turn based... Never ever have i even played a second of any FF, ive only seen someone else play and it was enough.
Persona 3 Portable (P3P) rocks on vita as well, though as it was originally a psp game it plays as strange cross between a visual novel and a JRPG. The Vita is the perfect place to play JRPG's, as you can pick them up play for a bit and then put the system in sleep mode; come back later and jump right back in.
Whoa bro!!!! First off I 100%ed Unit 13...my entry back into shooters. Secondly I saw the "pointer" during Unit 13 gameplay there, do u have a soft modded PSTV kind sir??? Huh huh?? I do! N it's so spoiled me ROTTEN!
Kevin Rosa You know, even if it had a very short and shitty campaign, the multiplayer was very fast-paced and insane on that game. I actually enjoyed it
I have been subbed since Metal Jesus gave you a shout out on his channel. I don't know exactly when but you had just bought that ridiculous amount of stuff from your buddy. Who if I remember correctly eventually wanted some of it back. It was sometime in 2012/2013 because I remember being excited to see you at PRGE 2014. I got the honor of being the first fan to give you games.
Hardware-wise, just, no. Software-wise, of course. You're comparing a console that is still new to a handheld that's been around for years. That's like saying the PS3 was better than the PS4 in 2014.
Michael Herd This argument is stupid overused. It takes a simple Google search to realize Zelda is the only game on the Switch. Also, don't forget the Switch has a vast multi-platform titles.
If you haven't touched your psvita in a while, just know that not only can you stream your ps4 to psvita, but you can also stream your pc using Moonlight if you are willing to put in the work
uhhhhh thank you for reminding me Wood! I just remembered that Months ago i bought P4 Golden cheap for my Vita and haven't played it since now because i wanted to finish P5 Royal first. Now i can set myself onto it. 😁👍
i have killzone mercenary, uncharted golden abyss, need for speed most wanted, mortal kombat, army corps of hell, rayman origins, call of duty black ops declassified, FIFA football, amazing spider man and batman arkham origins blackgate.

I have all of these games but Persona 4! I need to get it sometime, my favorite is Soul Sacrifice and Lumines. Vita is super underrated and I'm glad this video was made!
Soul Sacrifice Delta is supposed to be even better. Might wanna Look into it if you haven't already.
I suscribed at 45k keep doing what you do your the best you will be big one day
Unit 13 absolutely one of my all time favorites truly wished there was a sequel
I plan to just use my Vita as a portable PSOne classic.
Bloody roar 2 in a handheld is great
PS Vita good times. 2013-2016.... Then I picked up a slim in 2019. Long time away from the system since my first one broke. Didn't think I'd ever go back and play it but guess I was wrong
My screen broke on my vita, and I'm to lazy to fix it or take it to someone who can
Spartan Of Iacon I fixed mine. It’s pretty easy to do mate. Ps Vita is sorta modular
Yikes sorry man
Watching this again in 2023 and I have to say a lot has happened in 5 years. To you as well as myself. Planning to get a vita again soon.

My friend told me to get this persona 4 game on the vita before I get the 5th one on PS4
The only game i feel i miss out in the DS library is the fire emblem series. Other than that.. meh. Vita all the way.
Dude this is my first time watching you and you look like a Viking who plays games
11:00 wtf?
Once I jail-broke my vita and installed retroarch, Adrenaline and PKGj ect... My vita has been my favorite device bar none. I play it now even more than my switch.
6:10 Yes, Soul Sacrifice.
love my vita. need to play persona 4. looks interesting. thx for this nice video dude!
Danganronpa 1 and 2
The vita in 2021 rivals a switch in portability. Especially if you like retrogames from all consoles. The emulations up to and including 64 are damn good... and gta san andreas was just ported to it. And it plays great
"Because, NOTHING beats Mario Kart" TRUE SO TRUE
Adam Pena
Mario Kart for PlayStation Vita? Are you serious?
Vincent Cheong in general
Vincent Cheong haxs
Adam Pena
Project Cars 2 just beat Mario Kart 8 Deluxe few months after launch.
what about sonic racing transformed and you can get it for the vita!
about a year sub for me. Glad to know you finally settled in Texas. Sorry I missed you guys this weekend I'm going to the Guitar show instead in two weeks. Wanted to allocate the funds for that plus my game collecting has taken a step back.
3.60 is bae
PopR I wish someone told me this before I updated mine...
spartan 1337 lol yeah.
Liberty Prime You can mod a 3.68 vita now.
Yesterday i traded my old xbox 360 for a ps vita FAT 3.60, best decision ever.
henkaku + PKG + 256 SD card = all vita games for free.
Overwhelming.
Subbed since May.
I always just sort of stared at the Vita in confusion. I love Little Big Planet, but I need at least 4 solid titles before I get one before production is stopped. I feel like im racing against time.
i dont even own a ps vita why am i here?
Harry Georgiou same hahha
We need one!
Duhhh Seeking attention what else?
It's been 4 years man. Subbed around the summer of 2013 when I was living in Colorado.
I feel like im the only person that doesnt like FF..
Toni Ivanov I don't like it either
Cause it turn-based right?
I'm not really into it either smh I traded mine of when I bought my first (15)
Hipster
I dont like it either, and not because its turn based... Never ever have i even played a second of any FF, ive only seen someone else play and it was enough.
The Vita is great! Think I've been subscribed since the old Game Quest days with you and Chris. Still fun to go back and watch those old eps:D
God of war collection
Ninjustu Artist Agreed!
I play my Vita almost everyday n PSTV over my beloved ps4
Whoa bro!!!! First off I 100%ed Unit 13...my entry back into shooters. Secondly I saw the "pointer" during Unit 13 gameplay there, do u have a soft modded PSTV kind sir??? Huh huh?? I do! N it's so spoiled me ROTTEN!
Try trails of cold steel 1 and 2
I think I've only been subscribed for a couple of weeks but I'm loving everything you've done!
Any Ys game is worth it :)
I agree
I've really enjoyed playing the ninja gaiden sigma games! They work surprisingly well gameplay wise on the vita
Hyperdimension Neptunia series ☺
Yeah my boy
Subbed to this channel for like a week. No regrets.
You should check out call of duty black ops clasified
Kevin Rosa You know, even if it had a very short and shitty campaign, the multiplayer was very fast-paced and insane on that game. I actually enjoyed it
Im still player multiplayer
Killzone mercenary wtf
Brian Coley ^
U wanna play black ops declassified my gamertag is supersara333
Been subbed since the switch hype began but I actually discovered your channel through your first video on the vita
Sonic racing transformed. Its a worthy rival to Mario kart.
Ps vita is better than Nintendo switch
Syed Faraz :\ are you stupid?
JP V you are stupid
Hardware-wise, just, no.
Software-wise, of course. You're comparing a console that is still new to a handheld that's been around for years. That's like saying the PS3 was better than the PS4 in 2014.
Oh no no it isn't... still a great console!
Michael Herd This argument is stupid overused. It takes a simple Google search to realize Zelda is the only game on the Switch. Also, don't forget the Switch has a vast multi-platform titles.
I love my. Vita, the great game I really really enjoyed was Tokyo xanadu. Excellent game highly recommend
Do people really like the Persona games or are they all saying it as part of an inside joke ?
Thats because Persona 4 should be the first game you get for the Vita it's basically a law at this point.
i love them, and im sure 99% of the other people recommending it do to?
EntityInTheCloset Yep! My first game was Persona 4 :)
Persona 4 was pretty much the only reason I bought the vita.
Nomad Vader no persona 4 and 3 are really really great!!
If you haven't touched your psvita in a while, just know that not only can you stream your ps4 to psvita, but you can also stream your pc using Moonlight if you are willing to put in the work
I'm surprised that Vita even has 10 games in total.
+Fubuki Destroyer It's just a lame gag that's been going on for years.
ORIGINAL
Bork I KNOW
Fubuki Destroyer BOTH AT THE SAME TIME, HELP ME
TheNicerDicer I LIKE LAME JOKE BECAUSE I'M ALSO LAME
uhhhhh thank you for reminding me Wood! I just remembered that Months ago i bought P4 Golden cheap for my Vita and haven't played it since now because i wanted to finish P5 Royal first. Now i can set myself onto it. 😁👍
I have been subbed for over two years. Great video!!
i have killzone mercenary, uncharted golden abyss, need for speed most wanted, mortal kombat, army corps of hell, rayman origins, call of duty black ops declassified, FIFA football, amazing spider man and batman arkham origins blackgate.
