All Sony does is block homebrew that's all there is to updates. Also people want to hack the vita to play classic emulators, and that happens to every console so it's no excuse. It died because Nintendo wins the portable console market.
I don't know about charging your Vita every time you're done playing. That would deteriorate the battery more over time. With batteries it's always recommended to let it drain as much as possible before fully charging. Obviously this isn't always an option but always charging can't be good for the battery's lifespan.
Thanks for keeping the Vita alive! Forget the people who say it doesn't have any games. On the PSN store there are 1347, including PsOne Classics and PSP games. You're bound to find at least 20 worth owning a Vita for! I've been gaming since I was 5 with the original NES, then Super Nintendo. The Vita is in my top 3 favorite consoles of all time, and it sucks Sony didn't push it more. There's a huge community that still supports it, and there are many games still coming out for it especially from indendant third party developers like Limited Run. If you find one for a good price, pick it up, I promise you won't be disappointed. And hey, you can even hack it to run SNES, NES, Genesis, Master System, and GBA games. I use mine half the time as a retro game emulator on the go. I carry it with me pretty much everywhere.
The Vita is a good system. Too bad Sony isn't supporting it like it should. Too bad the memory cards are expensive. Too bad the extra controler option isn't what it is cracked up to be. The PS3 and PS4 controller's buttons just don't work the same as on the Vita. This makes remote play frustrating. Nice video just 3 years too late.
Kuro Kohi Honestly, both systems have similarly sized libraries of similar quality, but tend to aim at different demographics and niches. Personally, as I'm not much of a fan of Nintendo's IPs outside of Zelda, Metroid (sans Federation Force, of course, of course), and Fire Emblem, the 3DS is less attractive to me than a system that lets me play a ton of my PS3/4 games on the go via Cross Buy/Remote Play, and as a fighting game fan the Vita's library completely blows the 3DS out of the water in terms of both quantity and quality on that front, barring *maybe* Smash Bros. Also, PSPlus gives me 2-6 "free" games for it every month, plus huge discounts on top of pre-existing sales on a more or less weekly basis, plus random and huge Flash Sales. And since it's Region Free, so I sometimes but Japanese games that don't get localized (Phantasy Star Nova is mouth watering gorgeous and fun as hell, for instance). That being said, I will probably at least borrow my brother-in-law's New 3DS XL in order to get my grubby hands on the aforementioned Nintendo IPs, Ace Attorney, and especially most/all of the Atlus/Square-Enix games and let him borrow my Vita or Vita TV so that he can play some of the Sony IPs, Danganronpa (or other Visual Novels), and especially all the Atlus/Square-Enix games in its library.
Some of those problems are easily fixed. Get a memory card adapter so that you don't have to get Sony's ridiculously expensive proprietary ones. I love using remote play, it's a shame you can't as well. If your problem with the controls is lack of physical L2 and R2 buttons, then there attachments you can get to resolve that. Lack of support from Sony(at least in North America) - yeah, can't really help you there. And I've only used it as an extra controller a couple of times, but I never really saw any issues with it.
Marso ElFlaco honestly, It would've worked if it had better games, non proprietary memory, an extra trigger and/or L3 and R3.... so if it was a switch, basically lol, but those were the only problems I had with it, played the shit out of it when I had one but only really played Final Fantasy X on it... would've used it more via remote play but the button mapping was horrid, using the the back touch pad for R2/R3/L2/L3 was too annoying to actually use it to play
nhyijy, I agree. If the Vita was a Dual Shock 4 with a screen attached, it would have been great for remote play or to use as an extra controller with the PS 4. I basically bought mine thinking that the remote play feature would be seamless from PS4 to Vita, but I was very disappointed. The Vita had a lot of potential.
The Low Battery Hibernation is a good feature, however it's not instant. While it's showing the "no battery" screen, the game is running in the background (or at least most of the games I play do) and it isn't paused (Project Diva for example). So it's kinda untrue that you can pick it up exactly where you left off and if you are playing a fast paced game, you can get killed during the "no battery" screen.
Yes it is n has so much potential and handheld gaming is still huge but Sony doesn’t believe that many people use PS Vita anymore , they believe there’s more people gaming on smartphones that is why they don’t suppport PS Vita no more which is a shame in my opinion , it has so much to offer if only Sony still support it , well I guess they made there target in terms of how many they wanted to sell internationally before deciding to stop supporting it , now many people will Jailbreak it
I really wished Sony would release maybe a PSvita 2 or another successor like how the PSvita was to the PSP, but Sony (I think) moved away from handheld consoles now
I knew about most of these, but a few were news to me. There's one feature that isn't mentioned here that I didn't discover until I'd had it for a year or two. If you hold down the PS button while the system is on, you can access a mini-settings menu that will allow you to change the brightness, turn on/off Bluetooth, and a few other useful settings. This way you don't have to go to the main screen and the settings app, which takes you away from your game. I change the brightness a lot to adjust for playing at night or day.
I personally love the Vita I've had it for years it's never failed me once it's a very good very range system has a vast range of gameplay mechanics and just enhances overall gameplay
Title should be changed to "10 Things I Didn't Know My Vita Could Do" these are all features listed either on the packaging, while using the system (popups that come up when you do something new like opening up a PSP game that shows how to enter the menu), or common sense, how do you not know you could make folders or that you could use remote play when it was so heavily advertised?
Bought the new Ys game tonight. Getting a 64gig for christmas, and getting all final fantasy games up to 9 + tactics. Also some mega man, resident evil, and adventures of mana. Best handheld ever.
Me too but the difference is I am buying vita consoles 3.60 currently 10+ consoles all soft modded with multiple gb cards & unlimited downloaded vita games
I have a psvita, only play physical games, but don't have a lot because I can't find em anywhere! I plan on buying another vita running 3.60 and get it hacked, but not use the hack to pirate games, just for emulators and psp shit
I loved my vita, but honestly who would ever use the vita as a substitute for a ps4 controller? The ds4 is one of the best controllers I have ever used, the vita doesn't even come remotely (pun intended) close in terms comfort and accuracy.
If you already have a Vita and don't want to spend the ridiculous $64.99 on a second controller(Really Sony? More than a game for a controller?). OR if one of your DS4's stop working properly.
Sony should really have somebody to work on the Vita and put more games for it or make a 3000 and make the cartridges for it and maybe change out the theme layout for it I feel like the PS Vita is really awesome and they should save it I think I'm going to start making a page or UA-cam channel and see how many people want to help me save the Vita or start working on the Vita cuz I can't believe they just gave up on it if I was the owner of it I'll make so many games for it and change a lot of things
Anderson Vásquez I know I answered and just made a rhetorical question. I was just saying you wouldnt need to try since the vita has a Netflix app.of its own.
What about the unknown fact that after you download the "playstation media server" onto your desktop, laptop, or tab then, open it, then Remote-Play your Vita to your PS4, then via your Vita open the Media Player on your PS4, and you will be able to stream all your videos, music, and pics from your desktop, laptop, or tab, through your PS4, and onto your Vita, while on the go? (and fyi you can do this with a PS3 and the PSP too.)
I miss my vita, I've fallen on hard times and I've had to sell all but my PS2 over the past 2 years. At least once you hit rock bottom the only way is up
Lol all of their Vita footage wasn't caught on Vita hardware. Some of those titles wernt even on the platform to begin with. Sorry no shadows of mordor on Vita. Your better bet was to use a PS TV but I guess that didn't cross their mind. Lol.
I can agree that you can remote play PS4 games, but clearly that is not a Vita game. So toting it as a Vita game seems a bit unreasonable and nit clearified. I love the Vita hardware for the record. So I am not Vita bashing for the sake of it.
Icky Pan Unfortunately no, but I can tell you that it works best when you take the psvita apart to paint it. Also, you need to sand the plastic and use an undercoat in gray. Gray works best for contrast. Also you must use multiple layers of paint tape for the screen or the screen might get paint all over it. You're probably better off using decals for a ps vita actually.
1 - forgot your vita on? no worries, from full battery it can stay in standby for AT LEAST a week and still have around half battery 2- Battery died while playing - no worries again just plug it in and it continues where you left off 3- Some games allow you to run the music app while you play. So you can play online and listen your own tunes
Still love my Vita. Got it with my first ever paycheck so it has sentimental value. Got tons of imported games and classics. Had to replace the screen after 4 years but thats not bad at all. Oled is the best. Would never buy the slim lol just isn't the same.
Counter of how much things I know that appears on this video: (And I don't own a Vita yet) 1- Region free - yep 2- Low Battery hibernation - nop 3- Ps4 controller - yep 4- Cloud saving - yep 5 - Folders on main screen - yep 6- Stand-by time - yep 7- Game manual - yep (there's manual on 3DS and Ps3 too) 8- Ps4 Remote play - yep (and ps3 too) 9- Psp games - yep 10- Quick unlock - nop 8/10
Vita can be used for streaming ps 4 games, vita has minecraft which can be played over tv,vita has ps 1 games, if you need , vita can be used for winter, although my first froze to death and got replaced by sony, vita has free multiplayer games, no xbox or so, vita camera can be used to make pictures of things you have to remember
I was able to use Hulu with my remote play but haven't tried Netflix or other streaming services yet. It only worked when the app was already open on my ps4 and then I connect with remote play.
Since I live in the UK my only negative to the PS VITA is that after about 1 hour of play the AVLS just abruptly and automatically lowers my Volume when I don't want it to.I could be in the middle of a very serious Boss Fight in Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and this AVLS completely takes me out of the fight since I have to press the PS Button, then go to my Settings,Sound and Display then deselecting AVLS there and then I have to back out of all the previous menu's just to start playing the game again and within every Hour the Volume constantly reverts back due to AVLS and this is so frustrating. AVLS was in the PSP but once you deselected it,it remains OFF Forever and the PSP is a far better Handheld. One annoying but very Anti-Consumer thing is that IF you want to connect your VITA to your PC then be prepared for a kind of DRM which prevents content from being read or written to since the Handheld needs to communicate with Sony's propriety Transfer Application in order for Sony to verify that your Handheld hasn't been tampered with.If you are in the clear then you can start managing your content.Sony also thought it was a good idea to move on from Magicgate Technology and deciding for a bizarre PS VITA memory chip format which costs a lot more than traditional Micro SD cards and it is these design decisions that lead for the downfall of the PS VITA
I love that you are putting out a Vita video! My only issues is that I keep seeing Sonic Mania playing in the background, but Sonic Mania was never released for the Vita :(
There is also a memory card adapter so you can use a micro sd card or memory stick pro duo instead of using the vita memory cards, they are available for purchase on amazon
11) If you've ever wondered what it was like to grind out a game for 40+ hours and then have the save file get corrupted for absolutely no reason, or being in the middle of a game and then get an error message preventing you from ever playing again with no solutions to either problem and having it increasingly become a problem once again, your Vita can give you that experience free of charge. Jesus, I loved my Vita in the beginning, but it certainly ain't worth the bullshit it'll put you through. And some of us don't have nor want nor should have to get just to avoid it, a PlayStation Plus account.
You can use remote play to use your ps4 as a cloud gaming service from anywhere on earth. I have my ps4 running in headless mode, and exclusively access it via my vita and pc.
They need to make a new ps vita that works with ps5 when it comes out I imagine it would have a psp design except it has 2 analog sticks and R1 R2, L1 L2 shoulder buttons It would have all the vita features minus the pointless touch pad at the back (they'd at least re-purpose it so its more useful) also they'd have to eliminate the over priced memory sticks
I thought it was pretty cool for games like Tearaway, where you can use it to interact with the world. Sadly like the touchscreen on the Switch, it was not utilized very often. What makes the Vita so much better than the garbage Nintendo Switch is that games and apps actually used the main touchscreen! The Switch you for the most part forget it even has a touchscreen. Like really Nintendo?
i have a ps vita back from 2013 and i'm still enjoying it, i have 17 physical games and 10 digital games, now i'm playing Super Robot Wars V english version, and planing on playing danganronpa, btw about the last advice in the video you can just hold the circle button to unlock your ps vita, have a nice day my ps vita comrades.
With Homebrew you can also use it as a controller and screen(remote play) on your PC!! All your games on pc can be streamed with a Homebrew app and Nvidia shield stream stuff
James The Undead King I think you'd be surprised, most developers say that when they develop a game for both PS4 and Vita, 83% of their customer base are Vita Owners.
What can I do since I have alot of umd games for the PSP and I want to upgrade but I'm afraid to rebuy those games again is there a way to input the games into a PSP Vita
I know this is a few months old but regarding remote play, you CAN'T use remote play to watch apps like Netflix, now TV or amazon TV... As for DVDs I've yet to try it. Also the remote play app is part of the vita... If my memory is correct it came with a firmware update for older models.
Why would anybody ever worry about the vita going to sleep during a bathroom break? Isn't that the entire point of handheld gaming? Take the shit with you... pun definitely intended
ps vita is sooo underated, my nephew lent me his ps vita for a couple of days and i loved it! now for christmas i'm thinking about gifting myself a ps vita slim and eventually also get the original vita with the nice oled.. i need both
Then when you hack it , it becomes the best handheld ever
Please how to hack it?
@@sundayolusola8060 theres alot of jailbreak vids in yt
It took me 20min, and I can play all PSP and retro games

Sony did something the 3ds could not do
Messaging, group chat, party chat, and friend activity
You could actually message your friend and ask them if they wanted to play a multiplayer game
Itzhappyduck ._. Only time I've used party chat was when playing KOF '97 against a friend and his PS4. It was awesome...
i remember messaging was also available on the PSP, alongside friend activity and so on.

Technologically speaking, the Vita is better. In terms of popularity and pure success, the DS is superior.
Marso ElFlaco The Vita is superior in every way. It doesn't matter which is more popular.
Marso ElFlaco the DS games have crappy graphics and the vita looks better plays smoother and the buttton lay out is way better
The DS and 3ds have a much better games library than the poor old vita, thanks to sony abandoning the Vita so quickly
The Vita has a good library, just a less popular one
I just got a 2ds, and it made me miss my vita. The vita’s games were more interesting and fun to me.

I love how henkaku wasn't mentioned at all in this?
Ikr and sd2vita
@@Blissed12 dont forget vitashell, autoplugin and pkgj
You forgot to mention that in remote play, some games move the L2 R2 R3 L3 to the front touchscreen and you can't change the configuration
Gonzalo Minguez he actually mentioned that in the video....
He's too stupid to tell us that.
1:37 can someone pleasd let me know what game that is so i can buy it
I'm getting hyped because i'm getting one on december, this helped me know the good stuff and bad stuff on the Vita
My PS Vita can be a PS Vita? *_N O I C E_*
Juan GomezNOICE
Juan Gomez oh my gosh this is so ground breaking gosh nice #wow
NOICE
I miss my vita, I've fallen on hard times and I've had to sell all but my PS2 over the past 2 years. At least once you hit rock bottom the only way is up
10 Things You Know Your PS Vita Can Do
Didn't think I'd learn anything in this video. But I didn't know about quick unlock, user manuals, or screen standby settings.
Lol all of their Vita footage wasn't caught on Vita hardware. Some of those titles wernt even on the platform to begin with. Sorry no shadows of mordor on Vita. Your better bet was to use a PS TV but I guess that didn't cross their mind. Lol.
Nexus of ice remote play can let you play shadow of mordor
Nexus of ice shadows of mordor is on japanese version
Nexus of ice You can play Bloodborne on the vita with remote play.
I can agree that you can remote play PS4 games, but clearly that is not a Vita game. So toting it as a Vita game seems a bit unreasonable and nit clearified. I love the Vita hardware for the record. So I am not Vita bashing for the sake of it.
You can use remote play any where there is a good Wi-Fi connection just keep your ps4 on and search your ps4 via Wi-Fi
I bought a Vita 3 months ago and i absolutely love it 😍
I didn't know my ps vita could have a ps vita logo, thanks!
I was looking for somebody to say that lmao
Just bought one I'm blown away by the visuals and pretty colours I know they aren't made anymore but it's my new favourite friend 😊
Awesome right love my vita actually sold mine awhile back and luckily found an insane deal and got another =]
So glad I still have my Vita.
You forgot the best part, you can run backup games and homebrew.
I thought most people knew about this features....
CarrilloGilbertPunk they do
Aranea me to
You forget about the most useful tip: you can do screenshot on Vita by simply holding PS button and start.
Love when the thumbnail has nothing to do with the video, great job
@0:36 wow what's this game? i think im in love.
I customized my PSP in a fetching orange and black.
Damn, that sounds awesome!
11teenandahalf Vlogs If you'd like to see it, it's on my channel!
Icky Pan Not much, I just wanted to say that I like the psp and I painted mine.
Icky Pan no probs.
1 - forgot your vita on? no worries, from full battery it can stay in standby for AT LEAST a week and still have around half battery
2- Battery died while playing - no worries again just plug it in and it continues where you left off
3- Some games allow you to run the music app while you play. So you can play online and listen your own tunes
Anyone know what game is playing at 0:45 ?
Still love my Vita. Got it with my first ever paycheck so it has sentimental value. Got tons of imported games and classics. Had to replace the screen after 4 years but thats not bad at all. Oled is the best. Would never buy the slim lol just isn't the same.
Love my vita so much😍
Spiderfly Me too.
My psn account name is ao3aw who wants to play killzone
Counter of how much things I know that appears on this video: (And I don't own a Vita yet)

I NEVER KNEW THE PSVITA HAD THE PSVITA LOGO ON IT! WOW!
I'm going to marry my Vita!
I have a glacier white and a black 2000s and I love them ying yang twins
Yes indeed the ps vita is the best handheld console!
Same with mine 😆. I super love my vitas
I personally think the PS Vita was a great console that sadly, flopped comercially, but it will still be dear in my heart. [P.S. I still use mine :D]
3rd best selling hand held in history beat out gameboy and everything
outsold 3ds
Moe Chronicles? If that was your vita, then you sir are my hero!
Knew absolutely everythig
Silica yeah anyone who has a Vita should know all this stuff.
shut up troll
Gcole6 How is he a troll for knowing everything in the video lol? Ridiculous assumption.
4NewHop3 have you ever watched one of his videos?
@@shitruns yeah of course i know that lmao.. i write plugins and hb for the thing...

Great video man, i love your positivity, no negativity just gaming

Don't sell your ps vita .... In 15 years from now it gonna be worth more watch

Bon Thebon jesus crist its not a pspvita its a ps vita
@@teddief next day psp vita comes out
Vita can be used for streaming ps 4 games, vita has minecraft which can be played over tv,vita has ps 1 games, if you need , vita can be used for winter, although my first froze to death and got replaced by sony, vita has free multiplayer games, no xbox or so, vita camera can be used to make pictures of things you have to remember
I watched this on a vita in 2018
That's pure dedication
Great review, but what's the name of the game you're playing on 9:03 please if you don't mind sharing it
8:08 are you sure about that?😕
Yeah.... Pretty sure that's wrong
I was going to comment the same. Unless there was some update, this is wrong.
I was able to use Hulu with my remote play but haven't tried Netflix or other streaming services yet. It only worked when the app was already open on my ps4 and then I connect with remote play.
Kadin Hinson you can use Netflix and Hulu as applications without using remote mode...
He ment like Netflix and hulu but you don't have to just do remote play to do that.
I never knew my vita's back is actually a touchpad
My vita can do everything, except get decent 3rd party support
AniZakku wrong party
U mean 1st party
Wow I can't believe this is so cool !
I wanna buy a PSvita 😻😍😍🤓😎😎
I love that you are putting out a Vita video!
My only issues is that I keep seeing Sonic Mania playing in the background, but Sonic Mania was never released for the Vita :(
PS4 remote play for vita
But I’m on Xbox and switch and vita
port is out 😎
Why did you make a video on my favorite and first handheld!?
The Gaming Ninja Maybe you could stop being a jerk?
There is also a memory card adapter so you can use a micro sd card or memory stick pro duo instead of using the vita memory cards, they are available for purchase on amazon
Been doing so much destiny 2 streaming to my Vita. Such an amazing little hand held
Who remembers dark Alex?
Hello world?
You can use remote play to use your ps4 as a cloud gaming service from anywhere on earth. I have my ps4 running in headless mode, and exclusively access it via my vita and pc.
I already knew all of these...
LoL
They need to make a new ps vita that works with ps5 when it comes out
I imagine it would have a psp design except it has 2 analog sticks and R1 R2, L1 L2 shoulder buttons
It would have all the vita features minus the pointless touch pad at the back (they'd at least re-purpose it so its more useful)
also they'd have to eliminate the over priced memory sticks
I thought it was pretty cool for games like Tearaway, where you can use it to interact with the world. Sadly like the touchscreen on the Switch, it was not utilized very often. What makes the Vita so much better than the garbage Nintendo Switch is that games and apps actually used the main touchscreen! The Switch you for the most part forget it even has a touchscreen. Like really Nintendo?
I love my PS Vita it rocks
i have a ps vita back from 2013 and i'm still enjoying it, i have 17 physical games and 10 digital games, now i'm playing Super Robot Wars V english version, and planing on playing danganronpa, btw about the last advice in the video you can just hold the circle button to unlock your ps vita, have a nice day my ps vita comrades.
My Vita, my life 😜
claim your ''you just subscribed cause a dude in the vid told you too here''
8:30 is that Dextar My ChuodHood Games
With Homebrew you can also use it as a controller and screen(remote play) on your PC!! All your games on pc can be streamed with a Homebrew app and Nvidia shield stream stuff
But who still plays Psvita?
Me. I think it's better than the 3DS
MisguidedHero2 ! Way better not even on the same league.
Luis Grilo it has a way better library of games
James The Undead King persona 4 is life
James The Undead King I think you'd be surprised, most developers say that when they develop a game for both PS4 and Vita, 83% of their customer base are Vita Owners.
Thanks for this! I just got a Vita and it's cool to know all the things it can do.
What is a PS Vita? Something that my grandparents would use?
Said no one ever...
Because they have money?
Zahir Sookoor Yes, it's so good that even your grandparents would use it :)
It's actually ment just for grandparents :D
How old are your parents if your grandparents use a Vita and it's outdated? Are you a sentient rat?
Remote play isn’t compatible with any media app. You can’t stream video from apps as the screen goes black and gives a “scene blocked” message.
I knew all of these, i'm just here to support the Vita
What can I do since I have alot of umd games for the PSP and I want to upgrade but I'm afraid to rebuy those games again is there a way to input the games into a PSP Vita
i just got a Ps vita and im currently using it to chat rn its a good system/console and I recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it
I know this is a few months old but regarding remote play, you CAN'T use remote play to watch apps like Netflix, now TV or amazon TV... As for DVDs I've yet to try it. Also the remote play app is part of the vita... If my memory is correct it came with a firmware update for older models.
Why would anybody ever worry about the vita going to sleep during a bathroom break? Isn't that the entire point of handheld gaming? Take the shit with you... pun definitely intended
ps vita is sooo underated, my nephew lent me his ps vita for a couple of days and i loved it! now for christmas i'm thinking about gifting myself a ps vita slim and eventually also get the original vita with the nice oled.. i need both
