It would seem a bit more like a rehash of Raven's rage art
His Indian stance can go under moves but the moves he does from that stance have this weird spin before they come out so the fastest thing you can do from it is Indian stance cannon which is a 32 frame mid that is -13 on block and does 29 damage on hit (knockdown). This trailer shows him using his Tobi Ushiwaka which is a 17 frame mid that is safe unless you transition into dragonfly which can be floated

It's really cool to see PhiDX react to his new main. Could use some more downplaying though
The animation of him putting his sword away looks like it evades highs. It would be pretty cool so that you can enter NSS somewhat safer in neutral.
The thing about the Rage Art is that Yoshi has the power to turn invisible (he only uses it in cutscenes). So I think thats why you dont see flashes of him. He's not attacking fast. He's just invisible.
Also, he's completely human. He's just a Japanese guy wearing a costume.
He has a robotic left hand/arm which got cut off between Tekken 1 and Tekken 2.
But why he sounds so demonic?

@@t1mson1c He's wearing a full set of reinforced armor; his voice is modulated because it's probably coming from external speakers in the mask. Otherwise, he'd be muffled, and no one would understand him.
Love your optimal character videos as of late. Would be interested to see a series on fundamentals that are invisible to your average player. Things like timing, spacing, approaching, when to defend, contest etc etc.
Cant wait for the full analysis video , and hopefully a Dragunov move list analysis too 🎉

Finally finally, the great mechanized SPACE ninja returns so triumphantly (hehe, the nickname space is nice, by the way), and without fear of being wrong... the definitive appearance of the character, personally, before, his best appearance was in Tekken 6 , and now with the curious detail of his right hand in which you can see his HUMAN fingers, in case the doubts of some in still believing that he is an alien, good gameplay expected no less and demonstrating that using weapons...it is noticeable who does not neglect his essence of being a Tekken character as he should be, something that does not happen with that Victor Noctis 2.0
According to the move list, his armor move is now f4 (his wall bounce move in T7), not f3+4.
As a super casual Yoshimitsu main, I'd probably say the only design I didn't vibe with particularly would be T7s squid. That was... Just a bit way too weird for me haha.
But yeah this one is HECKIN DOPE. And more sword moves, even if they're blockable, is a win. I hope we have some more unblockable ones too.
When you mentioned the soul stealing, i noticed every time he did it the sword became more and more covered in this red mist. Maybe it's some sort of cash out mechanic like you said, as he does at 8:20. At the end he has to supress the sword covered in the mist, which i think is related

I'm so hyped for new yoshi, not the happiest that flash isnt free combo and qcf 1 isnt unblockable, but at the same time, it looks like the boy is much more of a real character and I'm here for it
Does yoshi have maybe a soul gauge the fills from sword slashes cause it started to glow then after a certain hit it stop glowing???
Maybe his sword glowing is similar to claudio starburst were some are buffed, or gain different properties :d

Yoshi finally got i14 launcher when Heat Engage B22 to Heat Dash combo, New 22 got more damage (28) then 11 (26) gave +15f on hit, that Heat Engage Dragonfly 1 only Launch when opponent crouch, even on stand also unblock knock down follow up with f1+2, Yoshi also got new after move to NSS, ws 4 to NSS & db 334 to NSS. His Heat Smash can got to DGF after block too. nice try.
2:05 I only just noticed the sword actually sucking in your opponents soul. I do wonder if that's just a flavour thing or if there are certain things it can be used for.
In Spul Cal, he had the same effect which stole bar away from your opponent and added to yours. Maybe its a similar effect where he gets some heat back when he hits you with specific moves
Im a Yoshi main and im thinking about helping newer players with the matchup once the game releases.

NGL when I was a dumb kid and stumble across TEKKEN 3 I used to think Yoshi is some GOD-TIER character since he got a cool as hell sword and he can fly using his sword as well!
I'm wondering if he's absorbing opponent heat meter. In soulcalibur 6, he would absorb opponents soulcharge meter with certain moves. SC6 soulcharge also seems to be the inspiration for the heat system.

@@speedfreakfrank everyone recovers cheap damage health when successfully land a heat Engager, they could put the same thing of Tekken 4 steal opponent moves, instead of recoverable health, he already has Indian Stance and then there is Jun which relies all about that concept
Yoshi is a combo of himself from tekken and Soul calibur. I think he has Chip, life steal, or healing on his sword attack. Idk shyt though.

Yoshi has always had self harm prevelent in his moveset. Perhaps the cursed blade turning red is harming him, and stealing life back when it hits? Yoshi is cursed by the blade the gimmick could be that its very powerful, but very costly. His gameplan always has been high risk/reward, after all.
I knew a healing or a sword buff would be too good to be true, especially with how good he *looks* now.
Im relatively new with yoshi (200w), and even I can see the buffs
I love the direction they're taking Yoshi, yes they're weakening some traditional moves and tools but we have more now which allows for more player expression

@@PhiDXQCF1is no longer unblockable, but now you can cancel it into DRF. I'm not sure how useful this will be in practice. DRF1 is no longer unblockable as well but now they may be more threatening
Basically sweep, QCF1 and flash are being adjusted. Weakened might be the wrong word

Lil nerd fact: Yoshi's blade has always been cursed. It caused him to lose his sword arm and have it replaced by a mechanical one by Dr. Bosconivich (which he uses to fly with the sword)
From what I know they never clarified how Yoshi lost his hand. He could've actually lost his hand to Kunimitsu 1 right before the events of T2 since she wanted to steal it. They did however cement it as canon because of Soul Calibur that every wielder of Yoshimitsu the blade are pre-destined to lose their hand or entire arm in the SC version case that wields the blade too long

Rookang and kane n trench did a more detailed dive in his moveset and his changes are a mix of whack and even whacker in both directions.
Super excited to see what knt, jermanji, eyemusician and there is that japanese yoshimitsu I think whose name escapes me will do with him. There is also an indian yoshimitsu whose name also escapes me.
Kane and Trench the only one which can really speak about the character since he plays him super basic and not with all his bullshit

People don't wanna hear it but Tekken 8 Yoshi looks better than Tekken 3 Yoshi, T3 will always be a legendary icon but the new looks is INCREDIBLE
4:25 actually yoshi had this move in tekken 7. It delayed uf3. It was a shit move and could be a launcher depending on timing and if enemy does not block. They made a much better animation and actually tied it to his stance. Very well done. I hope they made some of this useless moves from tekken 7 more usable. Also that indian meditation stance into 3,4 tornado kick is the shit we have been asking for ages in t7. a very welcomed change. Flash nerf sucks ass, but im confident they will patch it into launcher, because the usual stance will barely be used since nss launches
After all the info reveals from content creators, it destroyed the trailer reveals imo.
You were getting an open beta before the full release and before all the trailers are out. New trailers are a way to keep engagement and social media relevance up after the beta has been out and people played. Kind of like refreshing. It's a very solid marketing strategy.
The strongest at nothing LOL never one ever a Iron Fist Tournament neither a Pro Player have bring him top 8, except for eyemusician which is crazy but still not enough to perform with a trash character.
