Thanks for tuning into the cockpit upgrade! Now don’t get cocky!
Or, to quote that other space thingy: 'Don't get Spocky!' 😂
Love it.
@@MarcWeertsMusic May the Force live long and prosper with you….
@@RetroRecipes Don't cross the streams!
Aww... Just reading this when I thought I would be cockpit cocky... 🤣
We had the starwars cabinet in our students union in 94.
Loved it.
It was retro back then and well loved by the students.
Luv and Peace.
May we all toast the legend Sir Clive Sinclair , thank you Clive for many of us it all began with you! 🥂
I never owned a spectrum (but played with a few) so I'm not biased or British, but the world lost a great innovator and visionary. Nowadays it is pretty normal that a tv is flat, but Sir Clive wanted them back in the 80's and made a small flat one. A small portable computer? I guess the Z88 was the granddad of the nowaday tablet. Electric vehicles, Sinclair had one halfway the 80's, the C5. Five million Spectrum computers were sold, but since most parts of this computer were of the shelf components, it was easy to make your own (and so they did in Eastern Europe, former Soviet Union and parts of South America). Since there aren't exact figures about the people who were using clones it is hard to tell how many people grew up with a Spectrum. I wouldn't be surprised that it is very close to the C64.
Indeed, for without him we'd not have any pocket/portable way of doing our sums! Amongst other things.
Lady Fractic is getting closer to her 7 of 9 look. That yoke looks well constructed. I may have to consider it for my authentic Star Wars Arcade machine.
that's no Yoke!
Getting closer to a perfect 10 I would say. :)
@@tyrem Easy now. ;)
Thank you so much for the review and support. Many thanks from Cole, Blue and I.
Heartily deserved!
Out of that whole thing, the vinyl cutter might be the most interesting to me. Is amazing the tech we can have in our homes now.
It is a cricut machine, I got the silhouette because they were more open with custom designs at first, good to see the cricut can do custom designs now too.
I loved the Judge Judy reference.
Luke: "Yoda, are we heading in the right direction?" Yoda: "Off course we are"
Glens parts are full arcade quality. And a great guy to boot. Always love for the Fracfics. I’m envious you have a sit down Star Wars.
I love that whole arcade machine. It is just fantastic. I am glad there are aftermarket improvements to be had out there as well. Great news!
We’re pretty spoilt as a community really
Glen Planamento makes fantastic products. Great video! Thanks GRS and RR!
I smell a Ladyfractic takeover in the works! :P
Darth Vader voice: NOOOOOOOOOOO! 😉
Nice to have a canine with yoke knowledge, my last dog only knew about French poetry. :\
Great video 😃
I loved watching the addition of the New flight yoke and I definitely support more ladyfractic videos as well as your recipes.
🙏🕹🙏
The Strong Museum in Rochester, NY has an original cockpit style cabinet but for Empire Strikes Back. I hadn't sat in one since I was young at a Showbiz Pizza!
Vector graphics! I love it..great episode!
You are not joke ing when you show your cockpit , even my wife wants one now.
🤭
so loved that arcade machine I spent so much time as a kid hanging around them.. sadly not got room in my house for something like that... my wife is not as understand as yours...lol
*This is so awesome! I remember seeing the original arcade game when i was a kid and was wowed by it! This one you have looks well good. Cheers for another awesome vid, mate*
That pcbway segue was as smooth as entering a humongous black hole Schwarzschild's radius
Er thanks I think!
Your song "One of those things" is brilliant
Thank you for your kind words! Means a lot 👍🕹️
Peri, I think that Lady Fractic would do very well with her own segments, especially because she is very easy on the eyes!!
Glens GRS yoke is amazing, love it so much I bought 2. Lol, awesome cockpit build Perri and can't wait to see your upgrade
I bought Star Wars on the ZX Spectrum from Ipswich just after Christmas and I can still remember the cashier telling my mum that there was a discount on the Game.
Han Solo : She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself.
Perifractic : Hold my blue milk.
Hahaha!
Great and fun video! That yoke seems no joke… 😊 Some very cool tech in it.
Great to see the X-wing in action again. Nice upgrade.
And y'all should totally get sponsored by Cricut, that thing is awesome.
Just played ESB on my Arcade1Up Star Wars cabinet today, coincidentally. Scored over 430K, my 3rd best ever on just my first, and only try today! Anyhow, great video. I only have trouble with the top right hatswitch button which is only working intermittently. I enjoyed your yoke replacement!
I remember the questionable soldering :)
When I acquired a vintage record player with jittery power issues, I remembered those so well to track some dodgy soldering in the battery compartment and fix like you did.
Luckily, I didn't need further repairs, but I'm learning a lot and more from your videos :)
Yes to the Ladyfractic vids. The repair vids she used to do are cool.
Oh man, that's the biggest cockpit I have ever seen. Congrats to both of u!
The Atari logo, is still best best logo ever designed. 😎😎😎🤯🤯🤯
I like all the details we get with how it works. When we bought stuff back in the day it would just say
"Made from Genuine parts!"
Well done guys! That cab looks fabulous! That new yoke's no joke! ;)
Great video Lady Fractic
Hahaha
It's always good to have a sonic screwdriver!
Indeed, Doctor, indeed. (Although perhaps 'It's always handy to have one', might be slightly more apt? Sorry, stuck in helpful editor mode).
I've been hearing a lot of good things about Glen's yoke. If I ever got one, I'd have to figure out some sort of mounting box, since I'd mainly be connecting it to this old laptop that I turned into a retro gaming rig.
I really enjoy this episode , because I remember playing this game when I was a kid , at that time it was amazing ! Thanks guys , by the way I was a jadi at the time 😁
Weekly nostalgia fix FTW! Keep up the great work team. No judgement, but a Ladyfractic dedicated repisode series would not go amiss.
This used to be my favorite cabinet in the arcades. Good job there.
Yet another brilliant video! The premiere and live chat made it so much more interactive and I love it!
Glad you liked it! I’ll try to do Premieres for all big project vids 👍🕹️
@@RetroRecipes sounds like pun! And we all know that PCB stands for Puns Creatively Brandished. :)
@08:40 you're really 'in the weeds' there... :)
I hope you haven’t weed
One thing that I always remember about the original star wars cabinet was the sound system 🙂
This looks so fun
Au top cette modification ! Bien joué les amis ✌️😄
A lot of yokes there, you're a real yoker! :)
Egg-sactly!
Another top quality video 👍 Well done guys.

No, thank you!
The force is strong in this video :D
hmmm the force is strong with this one......it's why he keeps breaking yokes 🤣💗 and bad jokes 😋 🤣, but I do love them hehe 👍💗 especially when it makes ladyfratic roll her eyes lol #bonus
Retro YASSS! but I would like some day to really have this almost real... Moving from the Death Star's orbit and into the trench... Big 3D fantazy 😎
I see that Bob Barker's mic has found a new and great home.
Just ordered mine today. Using some extra Christmas cash for that. I should have it in about 10 days, I guess. Anyhow, watching the video again for another primer. Thanks!
Nice! Send pics when done!
Great video, Perifractic! Just what I needed to take my mind off things here.
Loved that game and the Empire Strikes Back vector one.
I was sad to hear of Sir Clive Sinclair passing away recently. Computing hero of a generation.
Keep up the great work sir.
P.S. Was there ever a version of the Star Wars arcade cockpit with hydraulically powered seating for the full rotating experience? I vaguely remember some arcade game with such a mechanism but can't remember which one.
Luc, use the forkes! Eueu...the Yokes!!!!
Don’t get cocky bravo’s and bravia’s!
Puppy would say a gurrait episode again . Thank you 🙏 keep up the vids.
I would definitely shell out for that upgrade
> WOW... THE VERY BEST BOYS & GIRLS, THAT'S 100% AWESOME!
Ok, you get a like from me just for the name plate on your work bench 😂
🤭
I love stuff like this! Ladyfractic has no business being as adorable as she is so of course I would 100% watch as much of her as I can! This makes me want to build my own cockpit for something like Episode 1 Racer or perhaps Rogue Squadron ❤
Thank you and I appreciate the support for my upcoming work
The Fiuwiuwiuwiuwiuwiuw is strong with this one!
Looks like the front switches have a bit of a "lip" to them.. Maybe a rubber piece, which can slide on to them, to add some cushion and roundness to them?
When the "They are looking to improve the buttons in future" text appeared, I thought it was a thought balloon of the dog at first! (S)he ("the little one") sort of looks like thinking about possible "future improvements" anyway... 😆
This episode is one big yoke!!!
Atari coin-op division seemed amazing. Wish we know more about them.
You should mount a platform on the back of the cockpit so that the puppyfractics can lay on it and watch through the plexiglass window.
Wasn't able to make the livestream :( Another great episode!
You were missed!
I like the ChrisFix reference. :)
Opes, it premieres in hours and we're already commenting down here as well as the live chat!
So cool
Pink! I may be colourblind but that was light blue wasn’t it 😂😂
I played that version of star wars in the arcade 1 time and got 3-4 games in while I was a a kid. What an amazing joystick. Nothing like it was out there and totally rocked it. whoever designed it deserves whatever we can give them. maybe try to find out who actually designed it.
cheers
Actually covered that in my build video and he got in touch!
Well second coincidence if found on this fine channel, I watched this just after dinner, yep chips and eggs, dipping chips in yoke literally 🤣 and I guess thirdly as someone who used to hace a graphics and sign business, I appreciate how easy that little machine your Lady used was, although I highly recommend using a vectorised graphic to cut from, e.g.. Eps or .ai, you will get nicer lines and arcs
PCB Way is the best
If you add a shifter and pedal, this cabinet and controller could be great for Spy Hunter!
09:17 👍👍👍
Yeah I replaced mine too. Got all the stuff to do the monitor also but life got in the way.
We need more ladyfractic doing bench repairs.
If we hit the Patreon goal she will have time away from other paid work to do that 🤞🤞🤞
@@RetroRecipes what do you have to hit for her to get onlyfans? Lol
@@repairupdaterepeat5815 What is Onlyfans?
😇
"Stay on target!"
That was a lot of yoking around, now scramble your x-wings and get poaching those tie fighters or you'll get fried. Another awesome recipode.👍
If I could have any one arcade machine in mint condition it would be one of the toughest decisions ever. I love the sit-down star wars unit, the stand-up enclosed discs of tron, and the original stand-up regular tron game, so it would probably be one of those three. I also really like cocktail table machines, just not as much. ;-)

The yoke is on you
You really don't want to be telling anyone that your wife has a new Cricut Joy 'Your DIY best friend'. I really think Cricut need to re-slogan that, or it could just be my filthy mind.
TOOOOOP !
No tooooppp
Hey!! I can't reliably get products at the grocery store, but you show me the CRIQUIT is still a thing???
Sigh...at least the Empire hasn't broken all supply chains.
The cat wearing a watch is kind of jarring. Love everything yall do with the channel. Btw..did yall see that James "angry video game nerd" finally did a piece on the commodore 64? Pretty funny vintage nerd coming back after so many nit so good ones.
Mr Fractic, have you ever come across something called 'Run 10 C64 Orchestra' ? There is one on sale on Uk Ebay at the moment?
Appears to be a two cd or dvd set in a c64 style case..
I saw they they put a x-xing at the smithsonian.
Ah, the return of the "Call 9-Bit Guy" sticker :)
I gave up arcades cold turkey. Back in the 80s when the first Atari star wars came out, I got so good at it I could play indefinitely on one quarter. I decided to test this out at the arcade at the mall one Saturday afternoon. Yes a mall, in the 80s, big hair EVERYWHERE. I plugged in my 50 cents (this was the sit down star wars like yours, so it cost twice as much). After awhile the kids kept bugging me and complaining that I was on too long. I kept saying "hey it's my quarter! Play something else! Trying to break my record here."
I kept this up for more than 5 hours straight. Remember it was the arcade, you couldn't pause the game and take a break. I was getting pretty squirrely. I started to doubt my life choices. How was this helping me grow as a person? I couldn't put this on a resume could I? I was filled with despair and got depressed and allowed my x-wing to be destroyed. I never went back to an arcade after that day. None of the games had any appeal to me anymore.
Sadly I never wrote down my score, and since it was the 80s there were no cell phone cameras you spoiled children. I did have a small instamatic but I didn't carry it around and I doubt I could have gotten a useful image of the screen with a small 110 instamatic (I think the film size was about half an inch for the picture).
p.s. Now I have been downloading and playing all of those classic games from the 80s I remember. I seem to have gotten over that despair.
10:38 HAHAHAHAHA!!!
I would not mind seeing more of the Mrs., but it will not stop me from watching your videos if she is absent from them.
Well as always guys a top job the only thing i didn't like is that puppyfractic 2 and 3 can play the game better than me. So am of to play a bit of star wars to get a bit better 😎, keep up the great work and will catch you all in the next one. Take care and enjoy and keep them dad jokes coming 😊
Ok so Luke Skywalker would approve, but would Gavin Sykes and the Rest of the Naboo starfighters approve? Great video, never knew that arcade game (seen in all the new shows) was one that you had put together and kept upgrading.
12:17 🤣
