When my dad was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC before shipping off to Vietnam, he had a 1967 Ford Mustang. He loved that car. They kept it after I was born, but when my sister was born in 1972 he did the "responsible" thing and traded it off for a more family centric car. He always said the last time he saw it was it sitting at a junkyard and had always assumed it was scrapped.
Fast forward to the early 1990s. I was in college, they had had a pretty good year financially, so Mom decided to look around and see if she could find him another 67 Mustang. She did, and sneakily arranged financing to surprise him with it. I came home late one night and just saw this dark form in the yard. I got up early the next... afternoon (20 something college kid hours, you know) and went out to look at it. It was beautiful. Started going through all the paperwork, found the original owner's manual that on the back page had his name and a date of purchase that happened to be on his birthday in 1967. I didn't really think that much of it, but when I showed it to him when he got home that day, he was floored.
It was the EXACT same car he had traded over 20 years earlier. Turns out, that thing in the back of the manual was the original dealer warranty documentation. He still had one of the original keys to the car, so he went in the house, found it, and sure enough, it fit.
Needless to say, that car is his pride and joy. He's never let me drive it, not that I can blame him for that. ;)
So yeah, sometimes things come back to us. :D
Thanks for sharing this incredible story with us. It just goes to show there’s hope for all of us! 👍🕹️
Cool story
youngest of 3, just like me. i had two older sisters so with that and being the only boy i was kind of spoilt a bit lol.
@@terraspent Yup 2 older sisters here too!
@@RetroRecipes Make that 3 of us 😅
I can't stop smiling when I watch you guys. You are both so nice and fun. Ladyfractic is the coolest girl ever and Puppyfractic is adorable. You're a lucky man Chris. Nothing but good vibes come out of your videos.
Thank you for your kind words! Means a lot 👍🕹️
Yet again, the three of you are utterly charming together. ❤️
The Phil Collins thing.. LadyFractic is officially the coolest chick ever.
Shame on Perifractic for calling her a Gorilla 👎🏻😁
This and Adrian's digital basement, two channels that make me warm and fuzzy...
Can not wait to see the AMIGA updates. I have the DENISE / raspberry pi HDMI already and love it.
@@stewg9376 it's really cool, saw it over on Jan Beta's channel..
@@cappaculla it’s awesome can not wait for it to be shown on channel
Both channels are about 2k away from 100k... open bets who will cross that line first! 😁
BE sure to also watch Noel’s Retro Lab its like Adrian. I stumbled on this a few weeks ago and it’s a good repair Channel too
Awwwww . . . Poor Puppyfractic. When nature calls you don't want to let it go to voicemail.
Aw, thank you so much for the shoutout. This meant the world to me. The Fractics rock! Enjoy the Amiga Addict Magazine. The creators have put a massive amount of time and effort into it and it has really paid off. It is top notch magazine. You will learn a lot and be entertained as well. OMG Puppy Fractic is absolutely precious . Lots of AmigaLove to you all! -- AmigaBill
You are so welcome mate!!! 👍🕹
Hi Bill! You are on Perifractic's show! I know a famous person!!!
@@chrisjpf33 Ha ha Hey Chris!
Thanks for covering our magazine, much appreciated Perifractic and family :)
Our pleasure! Keep up the great work!! 👍🕹
19:22 - How far we have come as a society that today a man can look at a women and tell her "You know my Amiga 500 has the Vampire card in there" , and she then looks back into his eyes and whispers ... "Yes". He then continues to talk about the HDMI limitation on standard modes that can now be resolved by the RaspberryPi HDMI adapter as she nods in approval.
Who said romance was dead?
#retromance
@@RetroRecipes Self plug lol
@@RetroRecipes for a moment my dyslexia caused me to read necromance... I guess it’s not entirely wrong in the context of vampires.
AHA!! I knew the day would come! This funboxing should've been called "Episode V: LadyFractic Strikes Back"! You bopped her noggin ONE too many times good sir. She finally has no choice but to retaliate in kind...with a vengeance! Haha! Love it!! Seriously though, great fun as always! Thank you both for all the smiles and laughter! I know...that's what she said! :)
That gamepad
In case this hasn't ever been said: YOUR DOGGIE IS ADORABLE!!! Take care, kiddos!
I love it! Thanks for the shout out! I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of the neon sign! can't wait to see where it ends up! Cheers!
It certainly lit up my day! ;-) Thanks again.
I love the way you two banter as a couple. 😁
Thanks! 😃
My dogs and I sit in front of the computer watching your channel awsome thank you for sharing it with us.
That’s so sweet thank you!
8:25 - Of course Puppyfractic has to really pee then, you just brought out the commode!
Great video.
Funny stuff guys.
Puppifractic steals the show again.
Some useful info about the Mac Classic:
1/ The capacitors on the output side of the Analog board go bad. A full recap is in order (the logic board needs one too).
2/ If new caps don't fix it, replace the octocoupler at board reference QP1 (with a CNY75GB or a CNY75B, the original was a CNY17) and the Mosfet (IP1) with a TDA4605. Those two are more often than not the culprits.
3/ Hopefully it doesn't have a Maxell battery...
4/ You probably already know this but if you press Cmd + Option + X + O (the letter oh), it boots using the the built-in ROM-disk. It's super fast!
Looking forward to that recipode!
Nice thanks!
I could sit and watch your videos all day. I’m looking forward to watching LadyFractic fix the Apple Classic.
Yay! Thank you!
Love the interaction between you two in these videos... And I can't get over how cure Puppyfractic is when she puts a paw on your or Ladyfractic's arm... :-) Thank you for great content - funny and really feel good.
Cheers Marc! Puppyfractic was pawfully handsy that day!
Love the commodore 65 in the background
Adorable doggo!
Git... that PSU gag actually made me jump! Lol
Lol sorry!
I had that exact battle ship handheld when i was a kid, ill never forget when my mom bought it for me at our local SEARS because she knew i was addicted to the game, and handhelds 😁 still am lol
I really love your channel. I love the studio, your projects, and the 80's music. I like your calm and quiet presentation, even when things go wrong, i love the silly jokes, i love the dogs. I like that your lovely wife also gets involved in your videos and projects, that is really lovely to watch. Most of all i love everything Commodre and everything 80's You are an excellent dude :)
Wow thank you!! ☺️
As much as I enjoy all of your content, I must say that my favorites are when all of the Fractics are involved and interact! Very entertaining!
Thank you so much, that means a lot to us. Will be doing more videos like this but not necessarily unboxings 😉😉
If there was an award for "most loveliest video on youtube" this should win it. Such a nice way to end a Sunday evening
Thank you for your kind words. Means a lot! 👍🕹
Speaking of old games/tech finding it's way back to us, I went to replace my "lost" copy of Metroid II, and, lo and behold, on the back was a writable label sticker with Game Genie codes... in my handwriting. Yeah. At least I got it back.
Wow!!
Retro ASMR. 30 minutes is the perfect length for these videos. That's when my TV turns itself off.
Perfect!
Adrian's Digital Basement likes that non-working Mac Classic.
Superb funboxing they just get better each repisode. 👍 I think by now you must have a nation of people saying PCB Waaayyyyyyyyy!
Fantastic plastic classic.
Life lesson learned: it's not a good idea to take a big gulp of beer at 28:22
FYI I fixed my Atari 1040ST with a "Mean Well RD-50A-VP" just in case that new onw doesn't work either. Just take the case and reuse the old switch and wires from the old one. Good luck and keep up the great work!
as we all know, PCB stands for , Puppyfractic Can't Bang drums
I just love that dog
Me too 😊
Lots of really nice goodies
Great video you three 😊. Extremely entertaining. These unboxing videos make great interlude between the more 'serious' projects. I hope some of my retro stuff is my original items returned to me. An awesome thought ☺️
Lady Fractic is correct - a laird in indeed Scots for lord. Lairds were usually the local landowner and Clan Chieftain.
Impression of ET? I hear perfect impression of Sir Alec Guinness. This is not the Commodore you are looking for, but the Commodore is looking out for you. 😁
Fair enough!
I do like the Donkey Kong shirt. Would go great with my Donkey Kong masks.
Another great video!
Have a great week!
Awesome episode! And as always super wholsome and funny, I love puns and Dad jokes :D
Thank you! It’s a privilege to make these for you guys 👍🕹️
If I had to choose between a box full of ticks or a box full of cheques, I'd take the money.
This video just hits all the right spots... It's such a big load! (of content)
I can feel Michael Scott standing behind me... 😂
As always, much 💙 from Rome, Italy!
Wow, thanks!
Great Video as always. Greatings from Germany and from Poland. 🇩🇪🇵🇱😀👍
Thank you! Cheers!
6:23 - you killed Wilhelm!
Woo another retro recipes unboxing and pcbway stands for puppy fractics crispy boards
Doesn’t it?
Perifractic certified Broadcast
I've got that exact Sidewinder pad still too! It's connector is called a game port
😍 Ladyfractic
Thank you for this video. I was having a bad day till I seen this. Great video! I have been watching your videos for awhile now...always makes my day. THANK YOU!!!
You’re very welcome. I hope tomorrow is a better one 👍🕹️
@@RetroRecipes Thank you!
Perfect! Absolutely perfect! Cuteness overload from Puppyfractic and so much fun times from the two humans that acompany her :D
Thank you for not using a shock collar ❤
Love from Germany
Thank you for your kind words! Means a lot 👍🕹️
I traded in my copy of Ring of Red on the PS2 and then several years later in a different part of the country I bought a copy from a Cash Converters and it was my copy with all my strategy notes in the back of the manual
22:50, Got me - darn
Ahh I want a Mac Classic sooo bad. Hopefully in a year or so! Awesome video! Puppyfractic!!
Yes! New video
If you watch Monarch of the Glen, you know what a Laird is...
looks perfect!!!
That was FUNNY! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great Video 😊🤘
15:27 - Your Phil Collins thing sounds more like Sandra's Maria Magdalena drum cover to me.
Interesting detail. Lady Fractic played the drum fill left handed as Phil Collins would have. Interesting...
She’s too smart for all of us!...
Still think it was a great Bjork impression.
"Tickle the boxes" 🤣
I love it, a very fractic video
As everyone knows PCG stands for Priceless Computer Boards
Sometimes you have to sit and wonder about all the previous owners of our retro computers. If they could only tell their story. Of course you did have some come in with their own unique story but it would be cool to know all the hands these units have passed through. Good luck with that RGB2HDMI adaptor. Remembering to switch modes is always a challenge with Vampires especially when you have not used one in a while. I know it happens to me but in my little area it gets confusing because I use adaptors to connect my Big Box Amiga's to a KVM Switch and receiver so I have to label everything to remind me what's what.
When Ladyfractic did the Phil Collins "In The Air (Tonight)" air drums, I thought she was going to punch you in the face like Mike Tyson did in The Hangover.
Next episode maybe??? 😁 OK I'll stop 😁
I've never heard this arrangement of In The Air (Tonight)
I genuinely jumped at that power supply 'explosion', despite seeing it in the teaser at the start!
Apologies!
28:26 I remember that part! Great subtle product placement put in by Spielberg along with the Reese’s Pieces!
Since someone already sent you a Macintosh Classic, I'll send you something else. I have in complete original packing a Classic I with a Classic II logicboard ;) 95% mint ;)
guys this video looks super crispy...
Is that a good thing? 🍳
here we go again.. ;))
Love that light-up logo!
Wee Wee sounds like Oui Oui which is yes in french
Peri, you gotta learn to quit while you're behind when battling wits with LF.
Love that light up Commodore logo. Way cool!
Ngl, that commodore logo looks cooler backwards.
Excellent air drumming by Ladyfractic. Could be a new channel... oh forget that could only air drum 5-10seconds before the copyright detectors get hold.
Precisely! So far UA-cam says this usage was OK and I believe it falls under fair use. Phew!
@@RetroRecipes they can feel it in the algorithm tonight 🥁
Another great episode, I love the Commodore neon logo, the Tick Mark and the Boingball would look great as a similar thing.
Correct. Tick.
Yes, Laird is Lord in Scotland... Loch is Lake and Kirk is Church.
Kirke is church in Danish. 😁
Kerk in Dutch.
Interesting how a few different languages use an almost similar word
I just got deja vu from time when Adrian Black battled with power supply on Classic Colour before remembering that darn thing was switched on from keyboard
Good luck with the Classic. The battery exploded all over mine. Best to check it before it goes on the shelf.
Your dog rocks :D is really funny and cute...
Amazing perifract t-shirt
I got that from Next in the UK about 20 years ago, before I was vintage!
My doggo is afraid of boxes.
Awww
Fun fun! :)
I think I had that cassette recorded on the tape head aligner box!
PCB stands for Perifractic Chooses Boots.. Even though it sounds like Lady Fractic would be better at selecting them.
Ahah I laughed so hard at the references to Little Britain :D
Hehe! 😊
Haha I was one of the people asking about the collar once because I got worried about the cute dog
It's all good, I was probably not talking about your comment ;-)
@@RetroRecipes I at least hope that my comment didn't come across as angry but rather just concerned back then xD don't remember since it was a few months ago i think. anyway I will still count this as having been semi-mentioned by one of my favourite youtube channels ;P
I _need_ that C64 neon sign in my life...
Lovely episode. Lots of smiles.
That c64 sign looks amazing . All though puns lol
0:45 Peak British-American couple right there... :)
You deserve the best !
Thank you!!! So do you!
I had a doggy with a tendency to need very, very long walks that could have used a good GPS.
My little scamper now just loves to stay around :P
I had an Atari ST power supply that died with exactly the same zap back in the 80's.
Wow the old Microsoft sidewinder “batarang” joypad. I used to have one of those.
The innuendo is extremely amusing.
You should put the Atari sign beside the "Back to the Arcade" on the right and have the new C= sign on the right to balance things out.
My wife (on the other end of the couch) is wondering why I'm laughing every 10 seconds... I was watching this video. You 3 are gold! (not the metal, and not the Spandau Ballet song)
Haha thank you! We invite her to watch too!
