Did you speak to the store you bought yours from about the lip, is it classed as a defect? I don't want to complain for the sake of it but I don't want to not mention it and it get worse. Thanks!
@@AndyHillier yeah, I'd say so, but I used the fact it weighs 13+ pounds and the fret board sticking out from the neck as a bargain tool and talked my way into it ! You can do it too, try it sometimes, I won't buy a piece of gear until I talk the price down at least 30% and it's works great so far.
@@AndyHillier yeah thats where I seen them. My squier has a nut width of 40mm and has very narrow string spacing and I have been really struggling with my genuine fat fingers. That extra few mm will definitely help as I can barely fit any finger other than my pinky between the strings.

I would get this, I've got an SG standard black cherry burster that $1700+ and the cheaper Les Paul special double cut p90's cherry nitro finish gets more play !

I don't notice it anymore. Its only when you are looking for it. i thought about giving it a quick sand but it doesn't bother me.
Mine had the lip too, That's why I got it for $460 and sanded it down flush with the neck now !

O boy that neck over hang is on mine too I sanded it down and fixed it and saved some money $470is what I paid for mine.

I really like it. It's not unbalanced like an SG buy at the same time it's not as comfortable as a Strat

I like to have a neck pickup so if i was going for an SG with P90's i'd go for a SG Special. But i am really enjoying my Les Paul Special Tribute.
