Approaching the Azores on our Catana42

Continuing our journey from Saint Martin in the Caribbean to Barcelona, Spain. We are about to make landfall in the Azores! The island of Fayal is not far away and Paikea is dealing with big seas and a lot of breeze before the wind dies completely on our final day of passage.
As soon as the wind dies and we are forced to turn our engines on for the last 24 hours before we make landfall, Shayne is making adjustments to Paikea including modifying the asymmetric spinnaker and jib sheeting points.

Love the mods you do to make your boat go just a little bit better all the time.
A while back, I asked you about cleaning up the keel shape on my FP cat. I'm happy to report that after extending the keels 38cm in order to make the trailing edge about 6mm, and extending the leading edge about 4cm in order carve it into a parabolic-ish curve, and replacing my rudders with a set of custom jefa rudders that are outremer 51 blades on an FP stock, amazing gains were made. Much, much less autopilot activity. Easier to get my sail trim right as the boat tracks better. And now I'm happy to tack upwind simply because I can. Not bad for a Condomaran.
