- Because when one lands in Horta after a Transatlantic crossing, certain things ought to be done, we happily oblige. We go have the drinks at Peter's sports café, paint our Polar Seal mural on the walls of Horta harbor, and most importantly.... I try to survive while going far out of my comfort zone.
We're finally out of quarantine, and it is time to enjoy some land-based activities after over two weeks at sea!

I learnt to crew with one of the Cheeki Rafiki chaps (in Cadet Dinghys). It’s great to see they got to paint it on the wall. It’s also a heart breaking. I’ll remember them always. Fair winds all

I’m sorry this is so late but I’ve been binge watching all your videos. I loved the Azores episode especially. I was stationed on Terceria island for 2 years when I was in the Air Force. Brought back so many wonderful memories of the wonderful people and beautiful island. Thanks for a wonderful series, I get a lot of pleasure watching. I followed a different dream still includes a boat, but it’s on a lake in Northern Wisconsin instead. God bless you both, happy trails. Looking forward to your adventures.

Horta, Faial, one of the most beautiful island I've visited.
Close to or simply your best episode yet. Funny, very funny, amazing scenery, and super sad with Annette leaving. She really was a great addition - Sophie and Annette should have their own show - I know, you did it already, but longer! Anyway - I laughed out loud tonight. Thanks!

All seals are fat - it keeps them warm in the water (espcially Polar ones:-))! Yours was a really good painting. I'm not supersticious either but it's rather striking/scarey/spooky to see that painting next to you though. I suppose we never know what the future holds! The roads didn't look that bad, but perhaps worse on a scooter :-)! Love the charisma and joy de vivre (sorry!) in your videos!

Hi guys, I am watching you since a while. I think your channel was the first one, what I started to follow, and still watching week by week. There are lots of things why I prefer your channel compared with others. Just a simple example, like, when Ryan take care and made his explanations about AVsafety turn to your daily rutine (we are almost collagues, so I could understand his mind). Today, watching this episode, I just realized that third flag so familiar. Looks like doesn't matter where we go or what we do, always find an another hungarian. Was such a surprise for me, at least. One more thing what make me interesting about your channel, even she is not part of the crew from now on. Wish all the best for you. aaand I hope once I could see your painting in live (and hope after I pantied mine, haha...)
I have to agree Sándor, my wife is Hungarian and everywhere we go, we always bump into other Hungarians. Of course, hearing "basz meg" always helps spot them. 😅

When I was last there we decided to not do a painting but epoxied a signed crew shirt to the wall. The old abandoned lighthouse (Lighthouse of Ponta dos Capelinhos) at the west of the island is really cool.

I didn't know Anett was Hungarian. I am Hungarian living in New Zealand. Sorry Sophie for the misleading French name (Alouette). It was the name of our Beneteau 411. She has gone now but we are getting ready for our next Bene. Maybe buying in the Caribbean. Hope to see you guys there if you decide to go back. Great video as always.

Okay I'm going to teach you guys how to paint properly. I was a general contractor and could get you a crisp line on any wall. No matter the texture. Then I'll tell you the secret...
The error that you made, was after you painted the white background, you taped off the area for the flags.
At this point you should have painted white again cuz it would have backfilled under the tape in white.
Then when you would have painted your flag colors there would be no colors other than white, that would bleed under.
Ta Da! Razor crisp lines.
So there you go.

@@RyanSophieSailing I thought it was that they painted the American flag wrong with too many stripes... supposed to be only 7 red and 6 white representing the first 13 colonies (we currently have 8 red and 7 white on the PolarSeal mural, representing the original 13 colonies and presumably both Disneyland Anaheim and Walt Disney World Orlando) . Ryan & Sophie... do I have your permission to fix it if nobody has when my wife and I (Lord willing) someday get to the Azors? -- Stephen in MO, USA 😃
