- Halfway to the Azores and it's windy! Olly (13) runs through how we sail offshore on Paikea. The best thing you can do for your kids is to involve them and we hope this video shows you a bit of what it is like to be a young-barnacle on board our modified Catana42 catamaran Paikea.

Winning at home schooling is an understatement, your boys will be able to do whatever they want to do. Kudos to you 👏
Great commentary by Olly!. Calm, knowledgeable and with a little bit of teenage diffidence. Very cool. Couldn't agree more about getting kids involved.
loved the shot looking along the canted hulls parting the water
Well my goodness he’s a chip off the blocks isn’t he ? Well done Olly 👏👏👏👏👏
He certainly is. Glad you liked the video
Always enjoy watching your channel. Real sailing and cool kids.
Thanks!
"onimous" clouds! Yep! Thanks Olly. Got to remember that one. Nice filming. I love the stern shots showing the water rushing away.
Thanks! ( From Olly)
Fantastic video-- was comparing the comfort and speed of your trip vs Florence (a 37" mono-- I really admire the Florence crew, but I would much rather be on your boat). Also congrats on you guys as parents! Your boys are getting such amazing life experiences --maybe its the kiwi in us....?
It would have been good to have a chat with the Florence guys. We saw them arrive in Horta a couple of days before we left but we didn't get a chance to say hi. I think they left from Bahamas(?) and we left from further south in St Martin. Our ride was definitely more comfortable without doubt 😉 It was a fun trip
I'm that guy too - standing on the scoop looking at the rudders without a harness. Just holding on and confident that you won't go for a swim.
Lol! He got in trouble for that 😅 He's not setting a good example is he? 🙄🤪
Real sailing 👍👍👍👍
Stay safe out there! Looks pretty full on! You could not hang off the back as she screams through high seas lol. Scared me! Man your kids are tough.
Kids told him off 🤣🤣
Harry could have his own channel. I loved it!
Harry says hi!!!
Looks like a lovely sail across guys, lovely
It was fun 😊
Hi guys. Could you please guide me on where can I look for a second hand carbon mast? Thanks !!
There's a bit of luck involved with that 😅 You gotta know what you are looking for too bc not all carbon rigs are gonna be grunty enough for your boat - especially if you're a catamaran. Europe is a good place to be because of the racing scene but there are no guarantees. Good luck with your search 🍀
Do you guys have your rudders set up with toe in ? Toe out or parallel ?
Rudders are in parallel
Fast.
