@TheOKellys Awesome, hope that we can get a few reviews of the marine starlink. Maybe before you leave an install, why it's different than the other dish, and subscription packages video. Then maybe a review while underway on how it's performing and why it's a game changer. And possibly some after thoughts after you make landfall. It seems like starlink is always changing for the better so getting the latest information on where it's at is always welcome.

@@carsonc1272 Look at Sailing Awen. They're posting daily videos of their Atlantic crossing. It's pretty amazing to see a 10-12 minute video EVERY DAY. You couldn't do that without Starlink. And it's good stuff. Zatara have done their usual weekly videos while at sea plus daily photo updates thanks to their Starlink. And when Nahoa was doing their crossing, they too were posting weekly videos while at sea. For a sailing vlogger it really does change the whole game. Where they once disappeared for a couple of weeks at a time, or had to work their butt off putting multiple videos in the can right before departure, they can now continue to put out content in real time while at sea.

Hysterical to see Nick cackling w/ gleeful laughter because he's having so much fun and then the pan to the hurtin' units in the salon. :o) I mean, they probably didn't think it was hysterical...
Excellent footage of the cat being pushed which is just so nice Nick. Not often one gets to be able to do this and not pick up any bills if something breaks 😉 . We always think of the repair costs and tone things done a bit but we got hit in a nasty squall sailing down from Thailand to Langkawi, Malaysia just over a month ago. We had horizontal rain and 500m vis and winds sustained between 35-42 knots on the beam. Going inside was just so quiet and comfortable compared to the roar outside. Nice to have a cat that can handle these conditions …
Fantastic that you are going to have a professional crew for the big crossing - not only from a safety and confidence building perspective. But the fastest way for you both to learn so much more about the boat. Am really excited for you... 👍 In the meantime am sorry to see Megan under the weather - but hope you are soon fully recovered 💪 Take care & ATB
Every really successful businessman or woman I’ve ever met said the key is surrounding yourself with experts and never ever stop learning. It’s a shortcut in just about every endeavor. Thanks for the note. Megan already feeling a lot better 9 days in.
Amazing drone shots of this beauty at speed! I had a big sigh of relief when you said you'd be taking some crew on board for your trip. I know these yachts are about as good as it gets but they can be a handful in challenging conditions as all high-performance cruisers are. It's not only prudent but absolutely necessary given the little time you had to become acquainted with her. I also think you will learn far more with experienced crew to help you than without even if the voyage ends up being largely uneventful. There's always more to learn when it comes to sailing. Glad you are feeling better and all the best for the New Year to both of you!!
Great to see you get back on the helm! After Decades of regular sailing I took 3 years away for reasons I won't bore you with. I began to wonder if I was going to enjoy it again. For the next year I sailed as much as possible here on the Chesapeake and never enjoyed it more , with more confidence than ever.

You have the best of teacher in Marc. He did our handover and I sailed back from Cannes boat show with him on our boat. Super knowledable and calm as a rock even when things gets sporty. The boats are amazing. From Cannes we had 25-30+ kn true and did multiple runs above 20kn boat speed. Full main and switched between gennaker and full genoa (aws between 15-20kn) but the boat where stable, very happy and all quiet on the inside. You will have a nice run with her to Miami. I put the staysail on a Schaefer System 1100 (me: much smaller boat; you, of course, would choose a larger version- pick as large as possible to load as large a diameter furling line as possible (so nice in the hands) to a self-tailing winch) and wished I'd done it 4 years earlier. @@TheOKellys I tried keto and it was great. I’m a pilot, and it was very easy to follow on the road. Believe it or not. Easier because we’re doing it together.

I think it will be hard fr you to go back to a older Cat when you finish this part of your story. What an amazing experience for you both too learn to sail this well designed performance SV Thanks for letting us ride along.
Really happy for you folks! Delighted everyone is feeling ok now too. FYI sometimes bearing off the wind when the gust kicks in can bite you in the tail as its hard to predict how strong the gusts can be. Particularly with the apparent wind at 100 deg. Generally, on Apocalypse we will turn up into the wind and put in a reef depending on the conditions. It is really helpful if you have the actual apparent wind speed limits of the mast and sails. Then you are not left guessing. Safe passage folks and best wishes in the new year.
Glad to see that the covid symptoms are lessening and wishing your all the best on getting healed completely before you depart the area. I can honestly say I have some idea how it impacts your lifestyle as I caught a severe cold that almost became pneumonia the week before Christmas. Since then we had to take our full time RV Fifth Wheel home in for service and have been living in a Hotel since the drop-off day, but I still am not back to 100%. Regardless, hope you get all the kinks worked out of the voyage prep work and that you can get everything together for your cross-Atlantic voyage.

I really loved this, the sailing detail was wonderful. Godspeed.
Proud of you guys!
Looking forward to the next vid! ❤️
amazing footage from the sailing, love it
You guys are amazing. What a boat,!!!
Thanks!
hey, thanks!! That's three croissants here and nearly one in the US! LOL. Not that I need it...need to go back to lo-carb! LOL
check that...it's nearly four croissants here in France!
@@TheOKellys I tried keto and it was great. I’m a pilot, and it was very easy to follow on the road. Believe it or not. But I did not anticipate is how hard it would be to follow keto at home mostly because your living with someone else, so there’s non-keto food around. my wife and I are going Mediterranean diet now so we will do it together and it’s supposedly really the best way to go. Easier because we’re doing it together.
Such a great opportunity to learn in bigger breeze and flatter waters with the pros! Also nice to have some help on board for at least the first part of the journey across the Atlantic!
Yep, pro instruction always a shortcut to proficiency!
Oh Nick, the joy in your exclamations as you were sailing was all that was needed to communicate how you felt about the sailing experience! What a wonderful Christmas present. Happy New Year and Bon voyage❣️
Merci!
Merci!
This is the content I'm looking for. Please keep up the actual sailing content as you sail the Outremer. Most of the other channels are basically tripping over each other in the Bahamas, not much actual sailing going on. Really enjoyed this episode.
Great presentation! I love this boat. Enjoy the ride!
Very excited to watch the transatlantic trip!
you guys always have a wise way to do things 👍
What a day...I really love the safety that Outremer has designed into the boat! It would be a sad day to capsize...at the same time you guys are gonna need some wind to get to Miami!
Great episode 👏I hope Covid will be kind before the Atlantic crossing …looking forward to the next episode and coming along for the ride thank you
Didnt realalise she was a Aussie boat until you raised the Sail.
Love the 55 Salon to outside space just so nice
You guys are cooking!!! Love that drone launch and retrieval. Robin should do instructional videos! Mike and his great accent added major coolness factor! Hope Mike and Robin crew to Miami!
Fantastic filming, exciting views. All the best for 2024 and your crossing.
Wow! That looks like the MOST fun ever, navigating that a boat. Congrats on this amazing opportunity.
Also, only you Megan, could look THAT good while battling Covid😷
WOO HOO! That looks like way too much fun. Sailing with pro racers is a WHOLE different experience than cruising. Esp guys that are super familiar with the boat and know how far to push it. What a rush. I am super jealous.
SO EXCITING!!!! So happy for you guys
Great to see you guys back in the game. MAYBE they will give you a really great deal on your own boat if this in fact is not it.!!!! Happy New Years and be safe out there.
Y'all have a safe, healthy and Happy New Year.
yeah. A real 100% sailing video. She sails beautifully.
We got’em! Cheers!
Hope you feel better!
Can’t wait to see your Atlantic crossing. Happy New Year from Vancouver.
Awesome vid, soo good. And great to see the Aussie sail as well,.
Great boat, she's a flyer✔️💯
What fun. I like that you’re finding the your limits. It’s the right thing to do. Sorry Megan got caught. 😢
