Song Lyrics:
"It's the Guardsman’s life for us
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
'Stead of Rations
We get Got
'Stead of Armor
We get Shot
It's the Guardsman’s life
Don't if feel like the Squad is always dying?
Don't it seem like the Armor never fits?
Every day, there’s another execution
And Space Marines take all the credit!
No one's there when the enemy starts blasting
No one cares if you Live or if you Die
Grim-Dark life
No-Peace life
No-Respite life
Only-War life
Emperor we never see
Emperor, what's that?
Who's he?
Victory or Defeat
For the grinder, You’re just Meat
It's the Guardsman’s life
Fix Bayonets!
Prepare to charge!
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
'Stead of Rations
We get Got
'Stead of Armor
We get Shot
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
No one cares for you a bit
When you're a White-Shield-Kid
It's the Guardsman’s life
It's the Guardsman’s life"

This video might be exactly why I pity the imperial guard but also why they're my favorite. When your sci-fi world has a faction where they send some random dudes to fight cosmic horror with disposable equipment but somehow actually holding the line, that faction already has my heart.
the only one that was happy? Krieg! becuase Krieg... also i do feel bad for those poor souls.
I feel bad for cadians the Armageddon steel legion all them and why do I feel like I would be the one pulling the frag grenade pin just so I can take if you enemies with me all that self sacrifice glory stuff
This is so BEAUTIFUL!! I must share this far and wide! ❤
@@ChaoticVoicesofAndreasBrother-Andreas! What do you do here? WHAT?!?!
woah woah woah. Disposable equipment? That stuff is more valuable then the guardsmen the equipment is always retrieved if possible.
fighting the orks is one of the best things you could be fighting in 40k.
_And_ if there’s a third party involved in the fighting, it’s fairly easy to bribe Orks into attacking said party (So long as you’re prepared to fight off the Orks using said bribe against you later on, but sometimes you have to go with the lesser evil).
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire There's actually a situation where Imperial Guard and Orks worked together to fight off a Tyranid invasion, and genuinely meshed well together as Ork ferocity and Imperial decipline complimented each other really well. It's actually a pretty cool moment where both sides worked together for a common goal and genuinely seemed to kinda respect one another. The book's called Enemy of my Enemy in case you wanted to check it out.
But that doesn't mean that they aren't horrifying
@@ChadTalos Sure, but they're _hilariously_ horrifying.
Yes they are but not in bad way but in an interesting way I love learning about Orks from the prospective of other races
Not pictured here: those same enemies splattered by the thousand other guardsment freaking out.
Correction, should read "...by the trillion..." 😅
Worry not about the trillions that die, but about the trillions that live by their sacrifice. By your sacrifice, soldier. 😅
Dudes who fantasize about being a guardsman seeing this and saying "nah, I'd win"
We will.
But I like dying for the Emperor when I mod Ravenfield
@@nobodyxdel2390counterpoint: Drukhari

STAND PROUD CADIANS. YOU ARE STRONG.
To be fair...
1. The guys who were killed by Drukhari got off lucky by being killed, and that quickly.
2. That Kriegsman was probably sad that he was the only one who HADN'T been killed... until he was, which probably made him happy.
Later that Drukhari scrapped his blade searching for some dna to be given to their homunculi. And then that poor guardsman will wake up in his new body in Commoragh

Every one of those scenarios Ciaphas Cain would have solved by not wanting to be there in the first place.

That's... effed up to the point of grimderpiness.
@Briselance Well, they would usually only exterminatus for chaos, which knowledge of corrupts normal folk, or for tyranids, in which case he probably was genestolen anyway.

Fun fact: The plasma gun is not designed to ever explode if it ever goes critical. It will just vent all heat out right on to the wielder killing them instantly.
40k: Where the standard-issue gear is worth - quite literally - more than your life.
Eh close enough
And that's better how?
@@travisbishop782
The gun is more valuable than the person wielding it.
But the way it vents all that heat means the air literally catches on fire so from someone nearby watching it vent it would look like the guns just exploded.

If the Space Marines disappeared the Imperium would fall in a year.
If the Imperial Navy disappeared the Imperium would fall in a month.
If the Imperial Guard disappeared the Imperium would fall in a day.
If the adeptus mechanicus disappeared the imperium would fall within the week
If the adeptus custodes disappeared it means the imperium has already fallen
I love this, because it is made by somebody who clearly understands the guard, there was a lot of care taken to show off some of the different regiments. Fantastic work man!
Ну конечно нужно подробно знать лор фракции, чтобы выставить их никчёмным мусором. Зато он использовал парочку разных полков и высмеял их всех

So this is where you've been!
Also shout out to including the Leagues of Votann. They don't get enough love from GW.
Eh, their digging a hole somewhere.
Also, Ironkin!
yay!
Honestly, the most unrealistic part of this video is the dark eldar bit. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the drukhari do not kill their victims anywhere near that quickly.
That guardsman at the end who dies in the exterminatus should be kissing that inquisitors ring if only he could. He failed to see the hoard of daemonettes that just warped in who were "looking for a good time."
Screw that. I’m a Guardsman supporter, these folks are us fighting the horrors of the 41st Millennium. It took us training for at least 1-2 years, we are available and more numerous than the Space Marines, we can control almost most fields with numbers, we train to hold the line longer before the offensive, and we are more human to fight as a great entity.
all so that in the end the space marines get the credit Lmao
For example@@javierpaniaguamontero1094 that you did your best to beat the enemy after you trained in the Imperial Guard in advanced for a few years but get your award stolen by some corrupted higher ups and treated us like rubbish. Do you like something like that will happen to you and your friendly brothers of arms?
more numerous than space marines by a factor of, like, ten thousand
Omg the leagues of Votann bit had me dying of laughter just seems exceptionally mean spirited 😂
He had a judgment token on him
And undeserved too, because that was no guardsman, that was a Stormtrooper/Scion
@@jasonalcatraz5817 I believe it is a kasrkin
I'm pretty sure that's a wrestling move that was used by two midgets in the wwe.
@@yetipotato8567 A Karskin wouldn't have went down so easy and would have had a preternatural habit of looking over his shoulder considering how insane their training is. That must have been a guardsmen who was trying out storm trooper gear.
I love the contast between the simple shapes of the gardsmen and the more detailed enemies. Really helps convey that they really are just poor, interchangable, expendible guys being thrown up against much stronger foes to die.
0:49 I don't know why but that's my favorite one haha, a lunatic alien with a rocket hammer just makes me laugh. Honestly seems like something the Brutes from Halo would pull.
That isn't a rocket hammer. It's an anti-tank explosive on a stick. Yes, their way of busting tanks isn't to fire the missile, but to get in close and swing it like a hammer onto the tank.
They do it that way because it's more fun.
Ork's get even crazier than this!
The guard, a bunch of dudes in the far future, with equipment barely superior to the current, just holding the line and fighting unspeakable terrors with nightmarish technology and monsters.
Damn how I love the guard.
“Emperors you never see. Emperor? What’s that? Who’s he?”

HERESY! *BLAM*
To be fair, considering what usually happens to people attacked by Dark Eldar, the guys who got a quick decapitation really were lucky.
Commissar: Okay men it was a hard fought battle. But we finally drove those xenos hordes back across the river. HQ has ordered us to hold this position until reinforcements arrive. Send a squad to guard the bridge.

Look, if you are fighting the Deldar, the ones killed by being chopped in half are the LUCKY ones.

and the thing is, this life is better than the hive city life...
Good ol imperium being the hellscape it is.
Death guard appeared for more than one second! 10/10
That represent so well guardsman's life
Just an average day in the Guard.
Glad to see your heroic return! The Emperor is pleased!
As a Guard fan, this is gold, but damn did you do that Kasrkin dirty. Still I love how you added a lot of the regiments personality in their deaths, keep it up!
I admit, for me the best part is still the "jetpack" Ork and the look on the guardmen's faces that just screams "HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?!??" right before dying
Tbh I expected the end would be full of IG actually kicking ass since it's their gimmick. Hard-won battles but won by the sweat, courage and grit of the imperial guard
Guards fans will watch this and say:
“See? The Imperium cares about humanity.”
Some of my favorite moments in 40K story is when Astartes honor guardsman. Salamander carrying slain guardsman off the field. Space Wolves saluting guardsman who stood in defense of Cadia even when the atmosphere was no longer breathable. In the wider spectrum of defending the Imperium of Man, the Imperial Guard is more vital than the Astartes.
Man I can't count how many of my buddies guardsmen I've killed in are games. 😂 wonderful song.
Amazing tutorial for those unfamiliar with warhammer, really gets them up to speed on what's up.

FOR THE EMPEROR
The inquisitor sipping tea after dropping a planet buster gets me every time. Edit: Upon rewatching this for the 30th time, I had a thought, the inquisitor declared exterminatus because the guardsmen was shaking with fear, and the emperor protects, so I shall know no fear is part of their prayer. The guardsmen committed heresy by being afraid.
I love how Kriegsmen are the only ones enjoying themselves there. XD
The ork with the explosive warhead hammer has got to be the funniest bit.
Gotta say though, getting to play an armored company was pretty mint ... more so with the battery of basilisks at the back😂
To be honest, guardsman have munitorum issued balls of adamantine. To face those odds and usually holding the horrors back takes courage.
Awesome!! This is what love about the Guard. Just regular humans, fighting the unbelievable horrors of the galaxy, WITH SOLID BRASS BALLS!! Also, loved the Night Lord bit. AVE DOMINUS NOX!!
Was so hoping a badass Guard veteran would’ve shown up and helped the new kid at the end.

Ironically, the most powerful force in the imperium is the imperial guard despite guardsmen being known for dying a lot.
How?
@@GabrielWard-yu6sk There's a lot more guardsmen than there are space marines. They're essentially the majority. There is more to it than sheer numbers though and despite the strength, they still need some help to get things done.
@@GabrielWard-yu6sk quantity has a quality all its own, the tyranids are probably the only "people" in the galaxy that can outmatch the guard on sheer weight of numbers.
@@GabrielWard-yu6sk when you have a hammer, every problem is a naill and the guard is the emperor's hammer, their infantry may be crap relative to the other factions but their artillery and tanks are second to none, even then they are also outnumbered when fighting againet orks and tyranids yet they still hold the line and push back againts the darkness
@@felop1187 The space marines I think are also called the scalpel, combine both a scalpel's precision cut and a hammer's force and you get good results.
Thanks so much for including the Votann in this montage! It often seems like most 40k content creators are even aware they exist.

Proud imperial guard player, have lost every game I have ever played :)
Catachan player here, I only ever lost 1 game. I still call bs on it. If you're in a 1v1v1 match and your two enemies go into melee, you should be allowed to gun them down. The only match I ever lost, this was back in the days when you could set up and not move your army, a Cadian player and CSM player tag teamed me in a 1v1v1 match, going into melee with each other than not rolling hits just to prevent me from shooting at their infantry because "can't shoot at units in melee" until the Chaos boys got close enough to melee my imps. It was utter bs. Only kills I got was a Chaos tank, 2 Chimeras, 1 Basilisk, 3 Sentinels and 3 Leman Russ. I'm still sore about that bulls**tery.
Of course, I never won a match either, just draw after draw after bloody draw. Seems like we never had the time to actually finish a match or get done enough for a clear victor to be decided.
And yet they've held the line for millennia and will continue to hold the line. They deserve nothing but respect!
As someone who knows nothing about Warhammer I’ve watched this way too many times now
Rhis is like a recruitment ad for the salamander's in 40k
In a setting where you fight literal demons, aliens more brutal than a rabid grizzly bear, and your own people who are insane in every category, it takes a real badass as a regular human to face it all down.
Definitely a veteran guardsman created this. Intimate knowledge of guard life.
Missed an opportunity for some harlequin trolling guardsmen
Everyone on the battlefield is shooting and screaming in different language is the most warhammer thing I ever seen
I think my favourite saying about 40k relating to the Guard is this (not exact), "Sure the Guard die a lot, but any xenos not immune to lasguns is extinct."
"prepare to charge" hits me hard every time man
amazing especially with the part with kreig
There's something poetic about the first and final guard killers of the video being Imperium.
