How to Re-Deck a Floe VersaMax Snowmobile Trailer

- In this video I replace the decking on my Floe VersaMax Snowmobile trailer. It took 3 sheets of treated 5/8” plywood and 30 or so self tapping, wide head screws. Some rivets were also required.

Thanks for the video! Looks like the hardest part other than getting that rear bumper off is going to be doing the the routing. But I’ll probably wait till spring for this project! Thanks again!! Very help full!
Hi luckylaroo- yes the rear bumper was a bit of a pain! Good luck with the project! It’s certainly a good feeling to have it ‘like new’ again.
Very good and informative video.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment!
Very helpful. Thanks!
You’re welcome!
What type of ply board? You may have said but viewers only heard wind in your microphone.
Hi @Aaron Jaeger - it was 5/8” CCX green treated plywood. That’s the standard “green treated” that Menards carries. Thanks for watching!
What screws did you use? coated? where did you purchase the screws? Thank you
Hi @chris diekman- good question! I had to go look at my box. They are #8 Self-Drilling Lath Screws 1-1/4” long. No they aren’t coated, unfortunately. They will probably slowly corrode away. Thanks!
@@NashwaukSteve Thanks again
What router bit did you use? Thank you
Hi again- it was a square edge 1-1/4” diameter bit with a 1/2” bearing on it to make a 3/8” wide cut. Thanks!
@@NashwaukSteve Thank you
Your in Minnesota want to do mine
Hi @matt Ubel! Yep I’m in Minnesota, but no trailer redecking is happening at -20F! If you do it and have questions, I can try to help. God bless!
What type of plywood did you end up using
Hi Matt Johnson! 5/8” CCX treated plywood, 3 sheets. Thanks for watching!
I thought regular treated will corrode the aluminum? Would need to use CCA?? Or MCQ??
How about this spring of course I will pay u and help?????
Hey Matt, no luck. I’ll be up to my eyebrows with my next project this spring- adding on to my garage to make a 37’x60’ garage with finished attic space. Kind of overwhelming already! I wish you the best with it!
@@bigcat.mattyahoo hi Matt, we just did one of our trailers last week with great success. I can send you pics and am located in Andover, MN. I also found that Menards carries the correct treated plywood which is compatible with aluminum trailer frames as well as they carry the proper 5/8” thickness for flow trailers.
And that is why triton is so much better.
Glad you liked the video
This looks absolutely miserable with all these channels.
Hi Swanee In The Northwoods- it wasn’t actually too bad. The rear aluminum bumper was more of a pain than anything! Thanks for watching!
@@NashwaukSteve I’m basing it off my short fuse and quick frustration tendencies!! Hahaha great job and great patience!
