For those wanting a music list: 0:00 - "James Bond is Back" (from the opening titles of From Russia With Love) 0:09 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service (main theme) 1:27 - "Capsule in Space" (from You Only Live Twice) 3:03 - "007" (originally from From Russia With Love, also used in several others) 4:20 - Goldfinger (main theme) 5:53 - "You Know My Name" (main theme from Casino Royale) 7:43 - "Night at the Opera" (from Quantum of Solace) (previously mis-identified as David Arnold's "Suspense" motif, apologies) 9:38 - James Bond Theme (originally from Dr No, this arrangement "The Name's Bond, James Bond" from Casino Royale) You can thank me later...
Yeah, it really is. I checked out the version Marie linked, but no, this one is better. I saw some attempts by other orchestras, but none come close. They play too slow, use wrong notes or instruments, etc. This version Keith Lockhart build is perfect, second to none.
True, +nickmcp71, I've always found YKMN to be one of the best of all the Bond songs, maybe even the best, despite the fact it's not the usual brassy songstress but a man belting it out. It sure did kick the Daniel Craig series off right.
I sometimes come to this video just for that. The others sound so suave, but they were meant for orchestra. You Know My Name was part of the new era of modern, harder sounding themes that, fair enough, have their own good points, but this version converted it to orchestra so effortlessly, it brought it straight back to the golden age of movies. Everyone will rightly focus on the brass but, for me, the percussion is what makes it perfect. To bring it back to the point of modern-sounding themes, it's also fair to note that they got it very wrong with Die Another Day, but redeemed themselves very quickly with You Know My Name. Interesting too that, in Skyfall, they went back to the old-style chanteuse-type themes with Adele. Wonder what they'll come up with next.
You Know My Name is the best Bond song of all time, in my opinion. Some will disagree, but I personally just find it more epic and uplifting than any other Bond song to come before or after it, and that's just the kind of style I have an ear for :) This orchestra made a song I already love a million times better.
+baseballrunner76 Well, you must be joking. The song you have mentioned is just mild hash in comparsion with the master work of John Barry and others, who made great tunes in those times when James Bond on the screen was not looking like a rough scandinavian butcher with mimics of a stuffed bear.
Man you said it. It is even better than the rock version. Really, it makes you realize that no matter how good your guitar(s) are, a few of them simply can't produce anywhere near as RICH a sound as sixty pieces or so . . .
one of the coolest things ive heard, followed by the original theme. unreal. my dream to see casino royale with the live music at the royal albert hall
I must have watched and listened to this clip over 100 times and do not get tired of it. The orchestra looks as though they are having a blast.. iconic music from a wonderful franchise.
David Arnold still did a great job nonetheless (5:52). Especially w/ Tomorrow Never Dies. A shame that the studio swapped out "Surrender" for Sheryl Crow's song as the title theme.
during the 60s i worked at skyline drive in theatres as a relief manager and saw all the bond movies so many times ,the music still takes me back to that time ,when live was not so complicated ,a great part of my early life .
Arsène Bird thank you for the comment ,i loved every moment of my work at skyline, our clients were great young people and loved our midnigt to dawnshows etc,we always had something special to offer we had a great senior management team ,and along came videos.progress,
Hands down one of THE BEST Bond medleys on YT!! I've played it so much that if it were a cassette from the old days it'd be shredded!! Really, really conveys the sinuous swagger of the Bond Theme. Crank the subwoofer and let it rip!!
I’m a huge James Bond-fan since a little kid. This literally brought tears to my eyes, especially the main theme part at the end. Fucking greatest soundtrack ever! Long live 007!
I've only recently discovered this video but I've probably watched/listened to it about 30 times in the last few days! Awesome music, would loved to have seen it live :)
You know my name from Casino Royale is just about perfect for the beginning of the new Bond era with Craig. Sharp, taut, edgy and just SO good... I never get tired of listening to the theme, sung or orchestra.
10:31 listen to that drum fill that leads to the (hard) swinging section. And then at the very end 11:37 the sound of that snare hit reverberating thoughout the whole room, wow! And just when you perceive the reverb "tail" you get blasted with that last chord played by the horns in an epic finalle. I love music like this.
I was always aware of this music growing up over 50 years but took it for granted , this video footage of this magnificent orchestra when you listen and watch the timing , technical ability to create such a masterpiece is really quite awesome , I fully respect every effort in the participation from every player , this music should be appreciated, it remains my biggest regret of not being musically talented to this quality.
From my view all GOD'S children shine no matter where you go. These been shining for a very long time. Please continue, what you all do shine, THANK YOU.
I'm no Classical music aficionado but this was fucking incredible!....obviously started with the famous but ended with the best!...Proud to be British!!!!!
I can't stop watching this!!! This is such an awesome accompaniment. Please please please please never take this down! You just don't see this quality of video, either in content or clarity, in UA-cam. Well done!
Have often seen BBC Concert Orchestra "in the flesh" at Watford Colosseum. Absolutely fantastic and look forward to having the opportunity to seeing and hearing them again!
what an amazing performance! I'm instantly transported back to the 60's. The James Bond theme song was such an integral part of the movie, it is as much associated with the film as the film itself.
“You Know My Name” played by an orchestra really does sound like a classic Bond theme! And I love the inclusion of “Capsule in Space” from You Only Live Twice since most Bond medleys stick to the main themes and “007”. Would love to see one do Kara’s theme from The Living Daylights.
+mrExcellent101 - The music during the main credits of From Russia With Love is instrumental, too. If you remember, the vocal version is played only over the end credits.

Thank you indeed
Thank you! I really appreciate the separate track cues. Thanks for taking the time.
Thank you, sir!
a Jedi who knows James Bond as I know Yoda... music to my ears :)
Defintely the best version of You Know My Name ever conducted.
Actually there is a better one here: ua-cam.com/video/oXJEvkxX3xc/v-deo.html
Yeah, it really is. I checked out the version Marie linked, but no, this one is better. I saw some attempts by other orchestras, but none come close. They play too slow, use wrong notes or instruments, etc.
This version Keith Lockhart build is perfect, second to none.
Sadly still lacks Cornell's voice, which rendered any orchestral instrument - or even orchestra - immaterial. May his soul rest in peace.
True, +nickmcp71, I've always found YKMN to be one of the best of all the Bond songs, maybe even the best, despite the fact it's not the usual brassy songstress but a man belting it out. It sure did kick the Daniel Craig series off right.

I completely agree all the others are rubbish.
+baseballrunner76 Nah -- it's Skyfall.
+baseballrunner76 it sounds amazing when it is played instrumentally not sung, but I also rate the thunderball instrumental
+baseballrunner76 Well, you must be joking. The song you have mentioned is just mild hash in comparsion with the master work of John Barry and others, who made great tunes in those times when James Bond on the screen was not looking like a rough scandinavian butcher with mimics of a stuffed bear.
Estoy totalmente de acuerdo. I'm absolutely agree whit you.
6:46 awesome synchronized cello spins during "You Know My Name"
Never noticed that before, you made it better for me
+Hugh Jass great spot that. Wow it's almost like they're super secret spy cellists!
+jkjerome1 Lovely girl with the cello!
+Michael Palmer
Don't fancy yours on the left much though :D
lol... I was referring to Living Daylights.... that's what bond said to Saunders!
The "you know my name" cover is absolutely amazing. Also an amazing song
Man you said it. It is even better than the rock version. Really, it makes you realize that no matter how good your guitar(s) are, a few of them simply can't produce anywhere near as RICH a sound as sixty pieces or so . . .
10:20 I love how one of the greatest guitar riffs in history is being played by a middle-aged guy in George Smiley glasses.
Love to Anne tee hee hee
The part at 6:49 gives me goosebumps every time I watch this. The whole arrangement is fantastic but their version of You Know My Name is sublime!
Damn that’s so true Bro✌🏼
It’s like a gun shot from a whalter ppk.
one of the coolest things ive heard, followed by the original theme. unreal. my dream to see casino royale with the live music at the royal albert hall
Best version I've ever found, to be sure.
@@James-rc6qq at this point I wouldn't want to see a James Bond medley live since nothing can come close to this performance in my opinion
I must have watched and listened to this clip over 100 times and do not get tired of it. The orchestra looks as though they are having a blast.. iconic music from a wonderful franchise.
Same ❤
I watch it about twice a week lol
God, John Barry's Bond music was so superb
David Arnold still did a great job nonetheless (5:52). Especially w/ Tomorrow Never Dies. A shame that the studio swapped out "Surrender" for Sheryl Crow's song as the title theme.
TheAdam159 is superb
It's a work of art and science of just a few unbelievable
Best Bond medley I ever heard. This conductor knows the music and has a great sense of how it works. Superb, original job.
during the 60s i worked at skyline drive in theatres as a relief manager and saw all the bond movies so many times ,the music still takes me back to that time ,when live was not so complicated ,a great part of my early life .
I envy you sir !

I concur !
It's the best I've ever heard in any forum.
How GOOD does 'You Know My Name' sound here? Better than the original!
Yep, and 'Night at the Opera' straight after it at 7:43 sounds way better than the original too.
Personally I think the Casino Royale theme is the most innovative and interesting of Bond themes for the last 30 years.
It is out on a limb all by itself. That is saying something given the quality of some of the themes...
I don't know if I agree 100%, but I must say that if its not the most, it is certainly one of the most.
Nevertheless nothing compared with John Barry's themes
Goldfinger is tops.
What we think as individuals doesn't make it so. Let's just sit back and enjoy it and try not to make comments to try and boost our ego's.
I listen to this with the music cranked up often!, and often I feel weepy at how amazing it is!
I’m a huge James Bond-fan since a little kid. This literally brought tears to my eyes, especially the main theme part at the end. Fucking greatest soundtrack ever! Long live 007!
These have to be some of my favourite pieces of music.. John Barrys music is just so expressive..as a musician its a joy to play..
I love how well 'You Know My Name' translates to the orchestra. So powerful. One of my favorite theme songs.
I've only recently discovered this video but I've probably watched/listened to it about 30 times in the last few days!
Awesome music, would loved to have seen it live :)
would have been brilliant
Only 30?
Simple the best orchestral composition/medley of the brilliant John Barry's, James Bond masterpieces !!! Bravo !!!!!
John Barry was a bloody genius!!
Bless John Barry for having the talent to give us this wonderful musical pleasure..
You know my name from Casino Royale is just about perfect for the beginning of the new Bond era with Craig. Sharp, taut, edgy and just SO good... I never get tired of listening to the theme, sung or orchestra.
Such gloriously upbeat addictive & at times seductive music!
This music (like the films), will never age.
The applause at the end is amazing! What a performance.
10:31 listen to that drum fill that leads to the (hard) swinging section. And then at the very end 11:37 the sound of that snare hit reverberating thoughout the whole room, wow! Just before 6:50 the 'cello 360 degree spin!
And it must be in the best song!! You know my name!! :)
Absolutely fantastic - they played my favourite versions too!
The Best James Bond medley on you tube.
To say it’s absolutely brilliant would be an understatement!
My name is Bond, James Bond, and this is my favourite video on youtube
Love the sound of " Gold Finger " so deep and brings chills .
Fantastic! I grew up watching Bond films and this music was brilliantly played.
Barry, williams, morricone, How spoilt we have been ..geniuses of our time...
Well older time but yes agreed
Yes, we’ve been very spoilt over the years. I’m not sure if anything like this could be created now.
Brilliant can't stop listening to this fantastic music nothing better than James Bond
5:53 AMAZING!
I really love to listen this orchestra. During this time I have forgotten everything except music.
From my view all GOD'S children shine no matter where you go. These been shining for a very long time. Please continue, what you all do shine, THANK YOU.
I want to see this live.
Only a master like Keith can conduct a program like this !
So glad they started with OHMSS - best score for a Bond in my opinion. Such an underrated film (outside of Bond fandom) too
The sincerity &the professionalism in the orchestra is awesome.Great work.
I'm no Classical music aficionado but this was fucking incredible!....obviously started with the famous but ended with the best!...Proud to be British!!!!!
Outstanding piece of music and beyond iconic. So special!
i have no idea how the conductor can resist not dancing at 11:01 haha!
RIP Chris Cornell. Thank you for bringing a great theme for James Bond.
They really nailed the Bond theme. :D

This is my favourite video on here. Just amazing.
I can't stop watching this!!! This is such an awesome accompaniment. Please please please please never take this down! You just don't see this quality of video, either in content or clarity, in UA-cam. Well done!
Majestic, elegant and imperial interpretation. 😍
Silly as this seems, the John Barry James Bond theme and Monty Norman's music brings a tear to my eye.
It's not silly.
I've watched this so many times. Incredible. It shows you how important music is to a movie.
“You Know My Name” played by an orchestra really does sound like a classic Bond theme! And I love the inclusion of “Capsule in Space” from You Only Live Twice since most Bond medleys stick to the main themes and “007”. Would love to see one do Kara’s theme from The Living Daylights.
Capsule in Space is fucking badass
I NEVER HOW MANY GREAT TALENTS TO BRING THE BOND MOVIES IN ORDER, THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH A BEAUTIFUL JOB WELL DONE THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL
Nobody Does It Better Than John Barry!
I could listen to this repeatedly
Simply great to play all theams in single sittings in perfect synchronised manner. Well played kaith .
Wow--first theme is from "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"! Great snow scenes in that one!
Isn't that the only Bond theme with no lyrics? It's just music all the way through with no singer.
+mrExcellent101 - The music during the main credits of From Russia With Love is instrumental, too. If you remember, the vocal version is played only over the end credits.
sheer bliss, wonderful music and a pleasure to listen to, thankyou for your amazing bond experience!!!!! love sharon xx
Wow, cuánta belleza !!! Gracias, maestros !!!
So awesome seeing Boston Pops Keith Lockhart with the London Symphony. Love the tour of James Bond music.
One word: OUTSTANDING !
That was incredible!!!!
Perfectly synchronized.Precision at its best !!!..amazed and delighted !!!!..Marvellously done...!!!! Honours from India....!!!
I find it really amazing that they included You Know My Name; Chris Cornell is one of my favorite musicians and this was a great version.
The Goldfinger theme is the best!
Yes 4:20 best along with actual bond theme.
I am impressed.....outstanding!!!!! Thanks for posting this. Never realized the musical quality of Bond films. Nicely done indeed.
Damn, I want a full version of that You know my name segment...
Awesome. You only live twice, Goldfinger and of course the 007 theme are my favorites.
Absolutely nailed the sound on that guitar
The best orchestra ever performed. Very close to John Barry's albums. Well done...
Principal Trumpet Balls of Steel 11:39 That Cut through high Note has to sit perfect !
James Bond is *COME BACK*
Absolutely amazing. I love it when "You know my name" kicks in :D
Great music and musicians ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

that harp at 1:58 is awesome
