1960s James Bond. There will never be another era like it. Glad I was around for it.
Totally agree with you.
A time when political correctness wasn*t around to destroy our heroes.
@@icarsten6625 Don't be so sure. George Lazenby left the role of Bond because his agent told him that the franchise wouldn't survive the more liberated 70s. Before the release of GoldenEye, it was unsure if Bond could remain relevant in a post-Cold War era. And we all know how both those instances turned out.
@@ignaciocue ooh I never knew that, thanks for sharing. 👍
@@icarsten6625 I thought Anti SJW’s were stuck in 2015/16. Jog on and stop crying all the time.
The actors made these movies good, the music made them great
I definitely agree !
Such a great combination
I agree too!
Tom Hatch, you’ll definitely get no argument from me on that score!
Do you think the director, writer, prop guy, set designer, key grip or anyone else have anything to do with it Erik?
And set designers, and costume designers ...
An orchestra is the best example of how humanity can function together and yet individually at the same time.
Agreed!
Bruh that’s deep
Bravo
Retaile23 the last the best
An orchestra is the best example of what good music and sound like.
Never knew that an orchestra performing "You Know My Name" was exactly what I needed to hear.
I never stopped loving this because it brings me so much joy and fulfillment in my life. The memories, emotions, and connections associated with it are so strong and meaningful to me.
John Barry's ability to create unforgettable melodies and captivating scores for films has solidified his status as a musical genius in the world of cinema. His legacy will continue to be cherished for its beauty and emotional resonance, leaving a lasting impact on audiences for generations to come.
John Barry's music has indeed withstood the test of time, evoking powerful emotions and atmosphere in every film he scored. His legacy in film music is incomparable, confirming his status as a musical genius whose influence will always be remembered.
Ladies and gentlemen John Barry one of cinemas greatest composers. I can hear this music all day everyday
Hello and thanks for the words.. Mr Barry is a forgotten hero of music, but not in our house. We had the luck to see him and an full orchestra like this at Albert's Hall in May 1999. A legend and we took both of our pairs of folks. Proper trip up West. All of us in bits over the man's music. Only six Oscars, just showing off. Take care and be safe everyone.

My passion has become a driving force in my life, fueling my creativity and guiding my decisions. It brings me joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. I am grateful for the connections and opportunities it has brought me, and I cannot imagine a world without it.
The Best James Bond medley on you tube by a long way.....
I could listen to it for hours. It takes me to another place and time and I love it 🥰
Agree! I certainly have listened to it for many hours over the years. I find the music and performance both wondrous -- and wonderful.
Same here 🙌

Don't you just love James Bond music, & the films of course. John Barry had this amazing talent to make spy music so alluring, romantic & exciting at the same time, both the music & films blended so well together as he merged the theme however modern it was into his orchestral version in withing the film, creating an amazing sound. So sad John is personally no longer here with us in person anymore, but his spirit will always be with us through his beautiful music.💐🤗
Deep soul that man had! It's in his eyes and if its in the music it's in the man.
@@taroman7100 Totally agree 👍☺️
I always listen to this video on fridays while shaking (not stirring) a martini at home after work.
There's nothing as thrilling as sitting in the middle of a live orchestra. I was a chorister for decades, I loved every minute of it.
The cello spins at around 6:45 add so much style. You Know My Name is my favorite Bond theme and this group absolutely knocked it out of the park.
I love how this opens with the much underappreciated On Her Majesty's Secret Service. It might be the best piece John Barry ever did.
So very true ...
"This never happened to the other fella".
Always found myself driving more aggressively when this came on my bond cd
Year2047, I loved the movie. Diana Rigg was gorgeous.
No, that's Journey To Blofeld's Hideaway, certainly from that film anyway.
Superb ! For such a small nation we are overloaded with such talent !
11:18...the drummer realising he has the best job and seat in the entire house. What a thrill!
When the late Musical Legend Composer passed away then so did James Bond to some extent. In my heart, John Barry will live forever in my music-loving heart. Holistic Chef Barry Anderson from Phuket Thailand. A Sean Connery Fan and Bond follower.
The fact that Arnold's score was played with Barry's Scores says everything about his soundtrack
The conductor totally nailed the feel and rendition of those pieces! Amazing stuff, bravo!
Keith Lockhart is great!
Some of the best movie soundtracks in cinema history!
Absolutely bloody fantastic.... John Barry.. GENIUS.
Lovely girl with the cello!
Space March is superb!
John Barrys music will live on in eternity!
Without a doubt. The Best Bond actor of all time has died R.I.P.
For the youngsters of the group..I was a twelve year old when the first James Bond film was released. The sheer MANIA over Bond with each subsequent release was just amazing. I think it peaked with Goldfinger. The media was nothing but Bond or any thing "Secret Agent". With all sorts of spin offs on TV and the big screen. A big part of the popularity were in my opinion the great themes for each movie. The music added so much.
Other good theme music - I Spy, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Secret Agent Man - inspired by James Bond.
I wasn't even born but I guess liking for Bond has been genetically transferred from my Mom who is even today one of Bond's biggest fan. Keeps asking when will the next movie be out.
Well stated. I thought that the music from Quantum of Solace held up better than the movie. Also, that rising pulse in the 007 theme is to be found in the Goldfinger music.
Overall, Goldfinger had the strongest music..love the tension it creates during the laser eating the table scene. Also, the You only Live Twice theme music was breathtaking.
Carry on.

If your mom is truly a hardcore James Bond fan, ask her about the upcoming one, _No Time to Die,_ in 2020, and see how she reacts to that woke -bullshitery.-
I was a child at the time watching my three sons and ernie was obsessed with bond
This is the best rendition of James Bond's music I have heard. The trumpets right at the end are really "music to the ears"
It's frikkin AWESOME
Just love these themes, especially "Capsule in Space."
I can never stay awake during most of the film but I've always had a soft spot for "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" theme.
This body of music has stood the test of time, in my opinion it stands as the most successful series of soundtracks to ever grace celluloid in the modern era and for eras to come they perfectly compliment the films. Thank you soooooo much for all this wonderful music that generations will hopefully enjoy as much as I have
You can’t forget Star Wars and Dark Knight and Lord of the Rings. Especially the first.
PURE CLASS all the way.
Capsule in Space...still chilling after all these years.
My passion has fueled my creativity and drive, pushing me to explore new horizons and push boundaries. It has brought me joy in times of hardship and connected me with like-minded individuals who share the same love and enthusiasm. It has become an integral part of who I am, shaping my values and guiding my decisions. I am grateful for the fulfillment and sense of purpose it brings to my life, and I cannot imagine a world where I am not free to pursue it.
So love this inspired rendition of John Barry's and David Arnold's Bond theme anthology. It is so wonderfully played. Many thanks to the orchestra. 🎼🌟👏🏾♥️
You can see the odd smile on their faces as it comes together.. more enjoyable when they're enjoying it.. !
Yup... from 3:00 in they start to "get it onnnn"! The violinist diggin the transition... Me too. Yup... feelin it 😁😍
What a lovely mix, and great execution by the BBC orchestra. John Barry was so talented that his music, even 50 years later, sounds on par with modern productions.
I've listen to this sooooo many times, love it.
Breath Taking. Her Majesty's Secret Service, You Only Live Twice, Goldfinger etc. John Barry is the MAN. Long Live Bond Music.
Some of the best movie soundtracks ever.

Pure bliss! Well done everyone and thank you very much to Barry and Arnold, two of my musical heroes!
After following the phenomenon James Bond for about 40 years now, I have to say... You Know My Name is probably my favorite title song.
Yes, Michael, this is true. Law of One. An orchestra is the best example of how humanity can function together and yet individually at the same time. Divine Blessings, Diane Love to you All.
3:03 may be titled "Gypsy Camp" from "From Russia With Love"
Magnificent! The Bond films themselves have varied in quality over the years, but they've given us such a wonderful collection of music.
A brilliant orchestration of some of John Barry's very best Bond themes, eclectically chosen. I just can't get enough of this!
me neither playing it a lot!
best selection of james bond soundtracks...
actually they left out the best John Barry song, which is "all time high", strange if they wouldnt have played that. All time high is the most emotional bond soundtrack of the whole series.

James Bond movies will not be the same without John Barry’s score and theme song. He invented the James Bond 007 sound which will be a part of our musical culture… Many thanks John!
I love how he turns at the beginning of the GOLDFINGER theme and mouths the first few words to the audience.

music is great . I love the fact the songs were the songs within the movie, not only the themes. EXCELLENT!!!!!
This is so beautiful and that made the james bond movies so great....even greater than they really are
I wish they would bring back the "007" theme in the new movies. I always miss that one.
I always feel I should stand up and strike a heroic pose when I hear it.
Epic
Loved it in Skyfall when he turns on the DB5. Cant help but smirk uncontrollably
@@omarsaletovicprins9632 and at the ending gunbarrel, which i don't mind the gunbarrel at the end if the bond movie has an important and amazing closing. I love that Goldfinger theme. It sounds great with a full orchestra.
John Barry should have been awarded joint writing credit with Monty Norman for the Bond theme, as Barry's contribution and arrangement to Norman's theme is crucial to its success
Barry lifted it to new heights!
While the central riff is Norman, the intro and conclusion are pure John Barry. Barry also changed the tempo of the central riff completely.@@taroman7100

Who doesn't love the 007 theme?
ABSOLUTELY the best part. You can also see the trumpeter smiling into his mouthpiece as they hit the chorus of “You Know My Name”
Why wouldn’t we smile? We musicians have our favorites. Trumpet for nearly sixty years.
And the drummers smiling face at 11:18. 👍🏻

The themes just brings up good memories. RIP Sean Connery: tgats is " Bond, James Bond"
Their sneaky beginning is a treat .... You think you're about to get From Russia With Love -- then suddenly you get On Her Majesty's Secret Service, then You Only Live Twice -- just wish they'd kept "Space March" at it's proper pace ... it should be played in a stately progression, not rushed thru as it is here. But the theme that follows it just knocks me off my feet .... it gives us the true dashing force that IS James Bond ....
Just superb..marvellous and excellent.

Watch The Incredibles (first movie) and you can hear this music influencing the soundtrack throughout. Superb.
Jammy Dodger
Brad Bird (The Incredibles) included the usage of incidental music to follow story’s tension scenes.
That usage of music has sadly become a “lost artistic technique” by current directors -
more fascinated by ‘lens flares’ and computer generated special effects.
The original Johnny Quest animated TV series from the 1960s had similar, trumpet-rich music written by Hoyt Curtin. Not full orchestra. More like a jazz orchestra. But still from the same era. ua-cam.com/video/7q0ttH3_olA/v-deo.html
It particularly struck me during the scences where Chronos was launched and flew through space. I knew it sounded like a James Bond theme but at the time I didn't know what.
